When Edouard realized that Lenoir had passed out from all the alcohol he had imbibed, he became slightly angry. He stood up and leaned over the sleeping Phantom. "Lenoir...wake up...you're not getting off that easily....Lenoir..." Edouard shook him on the shoulder, first gently, then a little rougher when he did not immediately respond.
Finally Erik opened his eyes. "You stay awake until we leave. I don't know where Billie is going, but I know that you and I are leaving for the mansion as soon as we are finished here. And I have only started drinking..."
He thought the look on Lenoir's face particularly idiotic. Erik looked as he didn't renember where he was. Edouard poured another drink for Lenoir and another for himself. "Drink it, Erik," he said in a cajoling voice. "You know it's good for you."
Edouard turned to Billie. "So this woman that Lenoir got himself mixed up with, you've known her all her life? Why do you think she's so confused and do you really think Lenoir was played for a fool? I find that hard to believe." Then he took another look at the drunk Phantom. "Well, maybe not."

Erik was almost unconscious. Suddenly he felt someone calling his name and shaking him. He opened his eyes. It was Edouard de Chagny. What was he doing in Erik's lair? Then he looked about him and realized he was still in the pub and the other two men were still drinking. The whole place was moving about and it made Erik feel dizzy. Then Edouard offered him another drink and told him it was good for him to drink it. Erik nodded and drank it down. Just as quickly it seemed to be filled up magically. Erik looked at it, thinking, how did that happen? He drank that one down too.
He heard Edouard ask some questions of Billie about Ana. But he couldn't catch the answers. He did hear the part where Edouard asked about how did Ana play Lenoir for a fool...he became a bit angry at the words. "I'm no fool!" he said, a bit too loudly. "Then he put his left hand inside the right side of his coat and dug around for a bit. He seemed to be having trouble getting something out. Finally he pulled out his large dagger, still in it's sheath. He waved it at Edouard, sheath and all. "I'm armed, de Chagny, better mind your own damn business or you'll be sorry!" He waved it about in the air, then dropped it.
Erik looked down, but couldn't see the dagger. He attempted to lean down to look under the table, but his equilibrium was terribly off and he fell off of his chair and onto the floor. Now his problem was getting up. He had no idea how to do that. It seemed nigh impossible. Well, he would make the best of a bad situation. "De Chagny, hand me 'nother drink, will you?'

Billie simply sat there as he glanced over at Lenoir rather out cold it seemed then watched Edouard get up to snap Lenoir from his little sleeping beauty impression. It was apparent that those two indeed have a history but he was by no means curious about whatever had happened between them. That simply was not his business.
The sight of the dagger, albeit it was sheathed still made Billie put his hand carefully upon Lenoir's arm gently but firm, "Put that away," in a tone of voice that this was not the first time he was ever in this sort of situation. It was obvious he's been in more weapon brandishing situations that he was rather mellow during Lenoir's absent-minded weapon brandishing stunt.
It was Lenoir's falling from his chair that nearly brought a chuckle out of Billie. Shaking his head as he got off his chair carefully to help Lenoir up off the floor. "I think you've had more than enough, my friend," as he took Lenoir's arm to help the man up and back to the chair. When Billie moved back onto his chair he looked from Lenoir to Edouard. "Perhaps I said that wrong. But... " glancing back over at Lenoir, "Someone played someone a fool." Then looked over at Edouard. "And Ana is not one to quickly react to something or someone. She can keep a cool head upon her shoulders." Once again, looking at Lenoir. "You really got to her, Mister Lenoir. Shall be interesting to find out how or why." Yes, Billie was eager to talk to Ana about why this masked man bothered her so much.

Adina had been looking out the windows of the second story of the manor, curious about the lights in the village below. Since she had her body back, she thought perhaps she would venture out of the house and visit the quaint little town. She took up her shawl and wrapped it tightly around herself, found a lantern and lit the wick, and slipped out of the manor from the backdoor.
The air was a bit warmer than she had anticipated; it was rather still cool yet nice. She held up the light as its gentle glow lit the path before her. She nervously took a step down the main road and, before she knew it, found herself in the heart of the village. It was beautiful! Such a lovely area she had never seen before! There were small shops, houses, and other areas that seemed just as nice. She saw a small pub and thought it would be nice to order a warm cider, that would make her feel better. But then she heard a strange commotion going on and she heard a voice she thought she recognized. It was the voice of…
"Monsier Lenoir!" She gasped, nearly dropping the lantern but managed to set it down before rushing over to him. "Monsieur Lenoir? Lenoir, ce qui est arrivé? What happened to you? Are you alright?"

Billie asked Lenoir nicely to put away his dagger. Then he had dropped it, and fallen off his chair trying to find it on the floor. Edouard watched as Billie helped Lenoir to his chair again. Edouard held the chair in place as the Phantom sat down. Edouard picked up the sheathed dagger and stuck it in his belt, where Lenoir couldn't get at it, for who knew what he would do in his state. He would return it to him later. And the Phantom seemed to be angry at Edouard. He supposed he hadn't been treating him very well, but the Phantom deserved it for what he had put Edouard through all these years.
Edouard had begun to wonder about this Ana that both Billie and Lenoir had mentioned. Somehow Lenoir seemed to be involved with her...probably the one that got him in trouble with Teressa. Although he couldn't be sure...Lenoir seemed to chase after anything female. He wondered if the Phantom would tell him what was going on. Billie seemed to think perhaps Ana had played Lenoir for a fool. Edouard wanted to know all about that.
"So, Erik," said Edouard nicely and rather cajolingly. "Who is this Ana? Did you date her? Is she pretty? And what happened that Teressa is so angry with you?"
Just then Edouard became aware of a young pretty woman looking at the three of them, somewhat aghast. He wondered how long she'd been watching. "Erik, do you know her? She's watching you....another girlfriend?" He looked at Lenoir to see if he recognized the girl. He quickly poured another drink for Lenoir. "Here drink this. Then call her over..."

Erik wasn't exactly sure what was going on. He felt Billie pick him up and place him back in the chair. Then Edouard filled up Erik's glass again. Maybe he shouldn't be angry at de Chagny. He couldn't remember what the Vicomte had done to rile him a bit earlier, but it didn't matter. It must be all over now.
Then de Chagny started asking Billie questions about Ana. Ana...wasn't that the strange girl from the future....the one Erik had...kissed? Oh no, now Erik started thinking about Teressa and Destler and how that kiss had practically thrown his lovely Teressa into Destler's arms. But how? How could he have known? Perhaps it was Ana's plot. Perhaps she wanted to cause trouble for Erik. She seemed to have so many mixed feelings about the Phantom. Erik didn't know what to think. He rubbed his left temple. He was feeling very strange, very dizzy and he couldn't think very well.
Then he heard it again, or he thought he did, Billie said that someone had been played for a fool. "I'm no fool," said Erik again. "I'm a genius, did you know that? No one can play me for a fool..." Then he wondered. Ana was such a strange woman. Perhaps she used some of her modern wiles on Erik and ...played him for a fool! Erik attempted to stand up again, holding on to the table. "I'm no fool!" he said again, rather loudly. Then Edouard offered him another drink and he nodded and drank it.
And then Edouard began to ask questions about Ana. "I c'rtainly did not date her. She's a mod'rn woman and crazy in the head. I ...kissed...her by mistake. Teressa saw. Now she hates me...." Erik's eyes grew a bit misty and a tear dropped onto his cheek. He didn't even notice it enough to brush it away.
Then Edouard drew Erik's attention to a young lady who had just walked in. Erik squinted his eyes to look at her. "Adina?" He said with a mixture of happiness and shame that she should see him in this condition. He emptied the glass offered him and he would have stood up and whisked Adina away to a safe corner where they could talk alone, but he was having trouble standing up, let alone walking. He glanced at her and motioned for her to come over to them as Edouard had so kindly suggested.
"Find a chair for th' lady, de Chagny," ordered Erik. "Nex' to me."

Now the environment was getting interesting when a gal entered the mix just as Billie was listening to what Edouard was saying about Ana. The inquiries were interesting and Billie had his own he'll definitely be asking when he meets back up with Ana at home later. There was a lot of explaining to do.
From the newcomer girl to Edouard sneaking Lenoir another drink and the masked man actually taking it, nothing seemed more overly dramatic than now. Well, not really but Billie was beginning to think drama followed these two no matter where they went. Slipping off his chair slowly, "he's fine, miss," as he moved to pull over a chair-stool for her and offered it. "He's been havin' a few drinks is all." Holding the chair for Adina and raised a brow as Lenoir wanted the young woman to sit next to him. "Regaling us with his recent situation." Billie stared hard at Lenoir wondering if another woman at his side was a wise idea. Now he was beginning to understand that perhaps Ana was played. It seemed this masked man was quite the womanizer. Somehow he felt this whole thing was bound to get far worse.

Suddenly, Adina saw something that made her visibly flinch... One of the other men had poured Erik a drink... And he drank it! Not only that, she could smell the alcohol on his breath. And by his body language, Lenoir seemed rather drunk.... This made her pause and bite her lip in thought.
Now she was afraid, she recognized that strong alcoholic smell all to well. The blood drained from her face and she jumped when the older gentleman offered her a seat. She pulled her shawl tighter around herself and cautiously moved closer before sitting on the stool. Her eyes looked upon Lenoir then the other man who had given him the drink. She squeezed one fist upon her lap then let it relax. "Situation?" She repeated, tilting her head slightly at the older man with the thick mustache before looking back at Lenoir. "Erik, is everything alright?"

"Adina, I'm so glad t' see you," said Erik. He vaugely remembered something that she didn't like drinking. Well, Erik didn't either. In fact, he wasn't quite sure how he had even become drunk at all. He just knew he was so drunk he was embarrassed in front of Adina. He tried to be polite. He pointed to Billie. "This is Billie Croff...Cross...Criss....well Billie something. It's a long name." He pointed to Edouard. " This is the famous Vicomte ...eh..oh, damn I can't r'member his name either. Wait, it's Eddy...or something like that. We go back a long, long time. I've known this famous fellow from the Opéra Populaire in Paris for a long time...long....long...very...long time..." Erik was slurring his words and speaking in a soft and rather slow voice, unlike his normal precise clipped speech.
"I've known his wife for a long time too. Did you know she almost married me? Yes, it's true." He glanced at Edouard, wondering what his reaction was. He wasn't able to make out the expression on the Vicomte's face because the room was still moving a bit too fast. All he could do was to focus on Adina's face. "Unfort'ally, she left me for him. Because he was better looking." Erik laughted a bit inappropriately. "Well, not ev'ry one can be as pretty as our Vicomte." Then he whispered to Adina. "Of course he's losing his looks with age." He acted as if it were a huge secret.
Then he addressed the other two men. "I f'got to tell you who this is. My good frien' Adina G'lespie. She's my very good frien'..." At that Erik took her hand and kissed it and held her hands in his. He felt comforted by her being there and as if her presesnce would make de Chagny leave Erik alone. He wasn't sure what Edouard was actually doing to him, but for some reason it didn't feel very good.

Edouard wondered what this woman would think of Lenoir. She obviously knew him and she looked rather shocked. Edouard smiled. This should be interesting. Lenoir tried to act very polite in spite of slurring his words atrociously and the rather idiotic look on his face.
Edouard almost laughted out loud when Lenoir couldn't remember couldn't remember Billie's last name and his own name at all. Lenoir called him Eddy. That was very funny. If Lenoir hadn't been drunk and called him Eddy, Edouard would have decked the man. But as it was, it was simply hilarious.
Then he introduced the woman...Adina Gillespie. Hmmm, he hadn't forgotten her name. And it wouldn't do to tease the poor Phantom in front of the lady. Edouard now wished she would leave. Maybe she would in a little while.
"Mademoiselle Gillespie, I fear that Monsieur Lenoir has forgotten his manners. He's been drinking a bit you know. Just a very little bit. Would you care for anything to drink? I'll be happy to pay for it." He smiled at Adina. He wondered what she was thinking at that moment.

The bewildered maid looked from the Vicomte to Erik and then back at the well dressed fellow again. She felt it was not too good to get so close to this man; something a bit off-putting about him. Then she quickly rose and gave both the man and Billie a polite curtsey before taking her seat once more. "A... pleasure to meet you both, I'm sure."
Then she felt her heart sink when Erik began to babble- almost incoherently- about the man's wife whom he had almost married. But it was what he had said afterwards that made her heart fall. Because he was better looking. She, however, did not think so. She liked Erik very much though her heart told her not to say anything amongst such.... Company.
She quickly turned her attention back to Lenoir and blushed a bit when he took her hands and kissed them. "E-Erik, s'il vous plaît," She murmured softly and turned her head away to hide her smile. Then the Vicomte asked if she would like something to drink and she paused a moment... Should she trust this man? Perhaps, perhaps not, but she had no choice now. "I see.... Er, perhaps an apple cider, monsieur? Merci."

Billie was very slightly amused with Lenoir's drunken behavior but he had to hand it to the mask man, at least he tried to be courteous around a woman. That still said something about the man. Perhaps in more ways than one. Especially if he could barely recall the names of his drinking buddies but had no troubles with remembering the woman's name. Now the amusement was wearing a little thin as he watched Lenoir take Adina's hand and kiss it. Billie's eyes kept upon Lenoir as he measured the man. He was definitely a bit different than when they had met earlier in the day. But even with the alcohol impairment, Lenoir still was suave with the ladies. Or so it seemed.
Holding out his hand to Adina, Billie smiled warmly, "Billie Cristofersen, miss Gillespe," he said in that deep, smooth voice with a slight Midwestern US accent. Holding his tongue though about what happened with Lenoir. But it was clear that Billie was rather thinking about that particular situation Lenoir was in.
As Edouard offered a drink to Adina, Billie twisted a bit as his hand moved to his pocket. Pulling out his cellular device, reading it. He then tapped a couple of buttons then put it to his ear. After a moment's pause- "Hey. I'm here at the local bar, the Schooner Steed, having a beer...," looks over at Eddy then Lenoir, "with a couple of guys." A pause followed by a couple of blinks as he was listening. "Alright." Then hung up his cell and looked back at Adina. "So... what brings you out to a place like this so late at night?" Stuffing his phone back into his pocket.

Erik wanted to put his arm about Adina. But her chair was too far away and he was afraid to leave his for fear of falling again. So he just held her hand and carressed it with his fingers. In a sense the roles were reversed. Erik was coming to Adina now for protection.
He wondered how long he would have to endure this place. He wanted to sleep more than anything, but Edouard would surely awaken him again if he tried to sleep. It seemed endless. The only thing that seemed good and comforting was Adina. He wanted to go home so badly. Just to go home and sleep in his own bed.
He thought Edouard was offering him another drink and he shook his head. Erik held on to Adina's hand and said to Edouard, "The lady ask'd for a warm apple cider. Get it for her. Now." Erik's voice was soft and his words were slurred, but there was no mistaking the demanding and arrogant tone underneath. He was going to take charge of at least something in the situation. If he would have been able to get it himself, he would have. But he rather liked ordering the nobleman about. It felt good.

Oh Lenoir was at it again! He was carressing Adina's hand with his fingers. Edouard shook his head and smiled in spite of himself. The man was irrepressible. And he went on and on about how he had almost married Christine. Edouard made a skeptical face at that. He had to come a bit closer to hear what the Phantom was saying as he was speaking very softly to Adina.
He caught what Lenoir said about Christine choosing Edouard because he was better looking. He frowned. Christine didn't care about that, she cared that the Phantom was a crazy kidnapping murderer and Edouard was a respectable man with a title and a fortune. Of course the Phantom had a fortune too. Edouard kept listening. The man was obviously drunk, but he was demented too. He hoped that Adina didn't believe any of his lies. But Edouard wasn't about to start a fight. He had decided it was time to leave when the Phantom demanded that he get some warm apple cider for Adina. He would have objected, but he wouldn't in front of Adina. Instead he gritted his teeth and went off to get the requested drink.
Bringing it back, he said to Lenoir and Billie, I think as soon as the lady is finished with her drink, we should get ready to leave. The three of us to the Manor...Monsieur Cristofersen, are you coming with us?"

Billie watched Lenoir and Edouard, especially Lenoir was he was being rather 'close' with the red-headed young woman. The more he observed Lenoir's actions and behavior, the more he pondered about what happened between Ana and this masked man. Knowing now that it will not turn out so very well perhaps in the end. Or perhaps it would just end smoothly without a hitch.
Watching Edouard get up and get the drink then glancing between Adina and Lenoir before looking back at Adina with a slightly concerned look. There was no doubt in Billie's mind this man fancied women and could be mighty dangerous. Hopefully the girls would see this and keep their wits about them. But Ana... now he was bewildered, curious to talk to her about what happened.
Nodding in agreement with what the Vicomte said after he came back with the cider for the woman, "Good idea," he replied in that usual deep, smooth voice. "I can follow you both back."
