~*~~*~~*~
Basic Information
Age: 36 Born April 17th
Canon or OC?: Old Western Phantom OC[/size]
[/ul]
Appearance
Body type: Fairly broad shouldered and pretty muscular from having to hop trains and ride horses and keep in shape to keep from getting caught by the law.
Eye color: Green
Wardrobe: Erik constantly wears his long black, leather trench coat with black boots, black pants, wide brimmed back hat, crimson shirt with a black vest over it, and of course- his black bandana mask. Though of course, his second most constantly worn outfit is his white shirt, brown vest, black pants, and white bandana. His very black outfit is usually used for when he goes out robbing trains and such while his other one is more for being around normally. But he of course has other western outfits. But most of the time he wears his bandana mask regardless of his outfits.
General Appearance: Erik would be considered the usual outlaw and cowboy, quick with the gun and be able to herd cattle. He is well built and could withstand the great summer heat. His blond hair goes to just about his shoulders and green eyes peer out from above a bandana mask. Beneath this mask, only few have seen. His nose- there is no nose! There is just enough to keep the bandana over his face. The whole front of his jaw, nearly from ear to ear, is clean jawbone, with only small patches of flesh. Most of both of his cheek also show clear to the bone and his lips are nearly normal except the area around them and the lips are nearly translucent, almost to the point where you could roughly see the teeth with his mouth closed. This translucent skin goes all around the area of his teeth until it gets to his visible jawbone. The translucent skin is also a large patch on his lower back, most of underneath his arms, his feet, and half of his left hand. If people were to see his face, they would believe that he was a ghost rider, taking a break from herding the Devil's cattle up in the sky.

Personality
Erik is an interesting character... though not a very difficult one to figure out most of the time. He's the kind that likes to start bar fights then slip away in the middle of it just to watch them fight each other. He's also a very good bandit and has stolen quite a large amount of bucks in his life time, though has spent quite a bit of it at gambling. He is pretty mastered at stealing in just about any way such as pickpocketing, train robbery, store robbery, landlords, etc. Quick getaways also keeps him in top shape.
Gunner is also almost in a relationship with his guns. He polishes them, always has spare bullets on him, and keeps his guns on his person at all times. Wherever he goes, his guns go. The two, onyx black six-shooters are his pride and honor. Unlike most outlaws or cowboys, he doesn't really have a best friend horse. Yes, he cares about the horses he rides but he never seems to be able to keep one for long so he has learned to not grow too attached to them. The only things he has learned that he has needed to keep with him at least 90 % of the time are his guns, whip and Lu. (his whip is more for anger management)
Gunner also enjoys freedom, making him perfect for the wild wild west. He likes to show that he will do what he wants, when he wants, which is a slim reason of why he is a bandit, to show that he is his own person and no one is going to tame him. So he gets rather irritated when people try to control him in any certain way. Though there is a lot more things that he does to make others irritated then others irritating him. Such as although he loves many animals, he doesn't like cats all that much and if there is a large population of stray cats running around, he gets quite tempted to use them as target practice. Something he always likes joking about.
Erik is also a fairly good drinking partner, occasionally getting down right drunk. Someone could learn quite a bit about him if they were to listen to him while he slept, for he speaks a whole lot when he is asleep after getting drunk. Along with being a drinker, gambler, and outlaw, he also is a bit cruel in his judgements and extremely blunt in some cases but hes not always really serious about it. Also, he isn't extremely gentleman like... he has a dirty mouth and lets loose curse words left and right, even in the presence of a lady. But even after all of this... being the regular kind of cowboy outlaw he is... he does have a rather good side to him, though it might be slightly harder to notice if not paying attention to it.
Gunner is extremely loyal of course. Though this is mostly towards Lu. He can sometimes isolate himself in his music, one of the ways he escapes himself in a way. Erik can loose himself so completely in his music... its hard to bring him back if he is too far in. But usually he wont get so into the music, unless there is something troubling him greatly and gnawing at him terribly and either he doesn't want to drink and gets into his music or he gets drunk and spend his time with his music until he falls asleep. However, if he was angry, just plain mad, he would just go out to a more isolated area and practice his whip skills. And if he just need space... that's exactly what he will give himself. He will spend as much time as he can in the wilderness, it is where he belongs.
Dreams and Goals:
*To afford what he wants when he wants.
*Live a comfortable life and settle down on a ranch with Lu
Strengths:
* Multi instrument talented - He can play the fiddle, harmonica, a little of piano, and sings western folk music (country)
* Gun slinger - He is a very quick gun drawer and fighter, giving him the upper hand should he get caught up in a gun fight.
* Horse Rider and cattle herder - Hes pretty much a cowboy in this aspect. He rides horses as if he learned to ride them before he learned how to walk and he knows how to deal with cattle and herd them.
* Poker player - Other than appearance, he has some good luck on his side and could get a fair amount of money from gambling.
* Outlaw - Money don't grow on trees, you know! He is very good at robbing, whether it be pickpocketing, train robbing, bank robbing, you name it!
* Strength and Intelligence - This is obviously needed for him to be such a successful bandit.
*Whip- His whip his his preferred weapon. He keeps a 8 foot, black bullwhip on his hip, in case he somehow runs out of bullets. In his spare time he likes to practice his whip skills so he's pretty decently skilled.
Weaknesses:
* Bandana/Mask- Anyone other than Lu who even attempts to remove his bandana will be shot. No questions asked.
* Winter- He easily gets sick during the cold months, he is much more suited to the Arizona heat.
* Choosing his fights- Sometimes, he just picks the wrong time, place, and people to pick a fight with. So sometimes, he accidentally gets himself a little overwhelmed and bad things happen.
* Manners- He isn't very mannered, he greets people sometimes but he curses like a sailor around anyone and could just be so very rude.
* Lu (Christine)- Their interesting relationship is complicated, but it is strong and he would jump in front of a bullet for her... or at least push her out of the bullet's path.
* Greed- Sometimes he just doesn't know how to quit, especially when it comes to money.
Fears:
* Losing Lu
* Becoming so poor he wouldn't be able to feed himself
* Rattlers (snakes)
* Getting caught by the law and not being able to escape in time

Mother's best friend: Morgan Creed
Erik's friend: Wolf
Erik's partner: Christine Lucinda Dallas
History: Erik Gunner, born in 1845 in a place eleven years later would be named Zion. Fiona, Erik's mother, fainted at the sight of her youngest son the first time she saw him. Darcy, Erik's father, left for a week, tempted to never return. The first night he lived were not his best moments, but things did get better. Fiona got use to the sight of her son and her two older sons didn't mind Erik's appearance much.
Things could have started out a lot worse. Erik's family were living in Carson City, Nevada. When Fiona was was five months pregnant, she had been out by the horses, taking care of the horses. But as she was going behind one of the horses, a gunshot rang out from the local bank and the horse in front of her kicked its back legs and ended up hitting her stomach. No one thought that the child would have survived it. In desperation, Fiona and her closest friend Morgan Creed and Morgan's husband rode on a carriage out to the closest Native American tribe.
When they got there, they of course at first were not welcomed but then the medicine man of the tribe told the chief to allow them in for it was gravely important. A tribe member who had learned a bit of English and the medicine man spoke to Fiona and Morgan alone. The old man was able to answer most of their questions but what Fiona learned was something she feared. The child would survive, but at a price. The child would be born healthy and well but his appearance has been altered. The baby would be born with a black mark on his heart meaning that when he grew, he would choose to do bad and with this, as a reminder for the rest of his life, the child will have a mark of death on him.
With this new, and slightly confusing information, they went back home. Darcy refused to believe anything any native American said. Morgan, afraid of what would happen with Fiona and her baby if the medicine man was right, advised them to leave Carson City, and that she would help them move. Fiona believed in her friend completely in what she said and wouldn't let her husband refuse. So they moved to one of the canyons of southern Utah. There were no settlers yet in the area, however, that didn't mean it wasn't occupied. In fact, the place where they planned to build their cabin was surrounded by Paiute native Americans. The natives did not want the family to move there because that would mean more white men would come and take over their land as they had with other lands. However, they finally said that they would let the Gunner family live on their land.
Four months later, the medicine man's words came to life and the black marked child was born. Morgan visited whenever she could with her husband, going there once or twice a month for about a week. Morgan was not afraid of Erik's altered appearance, this courage helped Fiona over come her fear. Things stayed silent between Fiona and Darcy for a little while, he wouldn't look at his son for another week. But then things finally loosened up over time and things felt nearly normal. Until Erik was six. He was never allowed to look at the mirrors, but even this did not stop him from seeing just how different he was. The whole Gunner family went on a horse ride down to the nearest river, they hadn't realized that Erik could use the water's reflection to see his face. He gave himself nightmares for weeks, not only because the bottom half of his face was so different but also because it reminded him of the picked-clean cattle skulls he would see every once in a while. After Erik stopped having nightmares, he made a friend from the Paiute people.
The Paiute boy's name was Wolf, though Erik didn't learn this until after about three weeks of playing with Wolf. For most of the time they played, it was just play fighting and chasing each other around so they didn't talk much with their language. But when they did try to speak together, it took a long time to figure out what the other one was saying. Finally, They caught on each others words and had an easier time communicating. Erik's father did not like him playing with an Indian boy but Fiona encouraged it because her and Morgan believed it was good for him to have someone to play with other than his brothers. When Erik turned fourteen, he began to catch on to his brother's actions. His oldest brother, Douglas and his other older brother, Gale, had began getting into some trouble. The two brothers would ride off to one of the surrounding towns and come back with money, but they didn't have a job. As the two older brothers got into more trouble, the more Fiona could see Erik's 'black mark' as he began to also stir trouble with the Paiute people. The people had seen Erik as a sort of little brother to Wolf but they did now more than ever and had nicknamed him Coyote.
Wolf, who was now 17, was not allowed to be around Erik who was now 15, but he no longer mind. He instead turned to hang around his brothers more. Erik was 16 when he had his first 'job' with his two older brothers Douglas, 20, and Gale, 18. They had successfully robbed a train and when Erik first put the bandana over the bottom half of his face, he then wore it much more often after the train robbery, even around his family. Erik was 19 and him and his brothers were on a large job, robbing a bank. However, they chose the wrong time. The sheriff had been waiting for them with a large posse and had gunned down the two older brothers and Erik getting away by the skin of his teeth with a bullet in his shoulder and side. Wolf, who was studying to be the medicine man and helped heal Erik. Darcy wouldn't look at his son, extremely angry with him because he had chosen to throw his life away as a bandit instead of taking care of the horses at their home and because it was a bandit at the bank of Carson City that had shot the gun and had 'ruined his face'. Fiona still loved her son dearly but became more of an empty shell, mourning over the loss of her two older sons. This went on until Erik was 23, which is when he got sick of helping take care of the animals and said his last words to his parents before riding off on his horse to never see his parents again.
Gunner had years to work up his reputation. He traveled all over the west, robbing and gambling. The called him The Phantom Bandit. They never see him enter, they never see him leave, only the glimpse of him and his guns and then he disappeared with his money. He robbed a lot of places and hardly ever got caught. But when he did, he escaped every time and no one could understand how. He worked alone, never had anyone help him, until he turned 30 in and was doing a train job in mid June. He had information on the inside that there was a train going through Tempe, Arizona territory. Erik paid the engineer of the train 75 dollars (Which would be really good pay for three days) and told him to stop at a certain point on the tracks and wait for ten minuets before going again and he was not to say if he had seen anything, or heard anything, or anything of the kind. Erik then was the first to get on the train, not wearing his bandana yet and had it in his pants pocket, he had his black hat over his face as if he were asleep. He stayed like this until the engineer of the train did Erik had paid him to do and when the train stopped he got up, having his hat covering the bottom half of his face and went into the bathroom. There he made sure no one was in there before putting his hat back on and his bandana over the bottom half of his face. He then climbed the side of the train, going from car to car till he got to the mail carrying cart. Here, his riches were waiting for him. Ten solid gold bricks.
Gunner went inside this cart just to see another person come in at the other side of the cart. Erik took a swing at the guarding person on his side of the cart but missed and the man punched him in the stomach. He waited no time and Erik swung the back of his arm into the man's jaw. The man fell back and as he quickly recovered, Erik took a heavy bag of mail and swung it into the side of the guys face and he slumped to the floor knocked out. He turned and saw the slender man on the other side finish off the guard on their side of the cart. There was a moment of silence while both bandits caught their breath and then Erik finally spoke. "Now just who the hell are you?" However, he didn't get and answer and instead the man took the ten heavy gold bricks in a thick bag and jumped off. "You've got to be shitting me..." He growled to himself and then jumped off where his horse waited for him. He jumped on his horse and rode off after the bandit that took his gold that was HIS to steal. After a while, the other bandit went into a hallowed out cave in the sand wall and jumped off the black Arabian horse. Gunner jumped off his horse and went up to the other whose back was turned and pulled out his gun. "I believe that gold is mine..." He said in a growl and cocked his gun. But then when the man turned around, Gunner nearly dropped his own gun. For it wasn't a man at all, with the bandana off their face, it was actually a pretty lady! She smiled sweetly and gave him a wink then spoke to him. "You think I have something of yours? I don't thinks so..." Gunner sighed and uncocked his gun and put it back in his holster then put his hands up as if expecting her to hand them over.
"Alright miss, just hand me the gold and no one will get hurt." "I risked life and limb for this gold and I ain't givin' it up!" She said back to him, he nearly chuckled. Though whether it was from her stealing the gold before he did and that she was a girl or the fact she was putting up a slight fight against the Phantom Bandit. Either way, it didn't matter any more for the lady softened up and spoke to him again. "Be nice. We can split it." Erik wanted to protest because he still wanted his 100% but then sighed and thought, what the hell, why not?, and gave in with a slight nod of agreement. They then spoke a bit and decided to go in together the next time. He thought he would be a lone bandit for the rest of his life, not needing anyone else. But he had a feeling that she would be a good partner in crime... and who knows what they would end up to be. From then on they were a team, in robbery and in love. They grew close and soon could not stand to be far from each other. They were attached at the hip and became a western legend pair.
And so begins the legend of The Phantom Bandit and his Bandette...

Gunner swung opened the door again and watched as Lu rode off on her horse, he yelled at her, just utterly pissed off. His mind was fuzzy with anger, he didn't remember what they had gotten into an argument about, he just knew he was pissed. She finally was no longer visible in the distance and Erik slumped over on the wall, tired and angry. He pulled out his harmonica and looked at it a bit.
He played it a little but then he just kept getting more and more angry till he finally just threw it down on the ground. "Shit!" He exclaimed and picked it off the ground and got into position to throw it against the wall but never did. He hit his head against the wall a few times and then put his harmonica back in his coat pocket. "Dumb ass, this ain't get'n you nowhere! What the hell were ya thinking? He yelled at himself.
Gunner sat on the ground, his head down into his hands. Everything for the moment was dark and silent. But then suddenly came this cold breeze and the stench of horses. He could hear horses naying that the clopping of their hooves. But the strange thing was... he wasn't out by any horses. He rose his head off his hands and saw that he was somewhere different. "Where the hell am I?! It looked like he was in some sort of stables, but not any he had been at before. His Pinto horse stood in front of him, staring at his human companion. "Okay Ghost, now where have ya take'n me?"
