Personality
Roselin is also a big PhanGirl. She has seen almost every single Phantom of the Opera there is. She loves all things good and phantomy. If someone where to ask her about it, it would be quite clear that she was a full believer in Erik and Christine relationship as that is most often the first things she brings up about it. Through her drawings and paintings, she sometimes shows what she think could happen if Erik and Christine ran off together. She mostly dislikes the Raouls and she hates all of the Philippes... though mostly in the 1990 version. Her favorite Eriks are the Claud Rains version, Lon Chaney version, and the Charles Dance version. She very much likes the other Phantoms as well, including all the stage performances from Andrew Loyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera. But she hates Rat Boy (never even saw it all the way through) and the 89 version. It was very difficult for her to watch, though she also didn't watch all of it but most of it, and she hates death and gore pretty badly.
Roselin listens to most modern day music. Though mostly Owl City and Imogen Heap. She likes some opera but can't really tell the difference between good opera singing and bad opera singing. Except when it comes to Carlotta of course. But she one day wishes that she will be able to learn and tell the difference instead of just which one she kinda likes and the other she kinda doesn't like. (Perhaps she'll get to learn that here, no? *wink wink, nudge nudge*) Roselin loves to sing, even though she knows she is not extremely good at it, but it was a way for her to let out some of her emotions and be able to do something she thoroughly enjoys. Roselin had also gotten into dance when she was six, it was one of her father's attempts to still be with her and look like a good father. But about after three years of ballet, he stopped ever showing up to her performances or taking her to dance so she had dropped out of it.

Roselin's mother died in a car crash when she was about six years old. Her mother was 39. She was a not well known pop/electronica singer. Her brother then six months later died while in the Air force. He was 19 and he had been in the Air force for a year. Her dad ever since the death of her mother and brother worked extremely hard in a small town factory. He works from 4 in the morning till 5 at dusk so he could support himself and Roselin. Though she usually doesn't see him come home till 9 at night most nights because he tries to ease the pain of loosing his lover and his son by getting drunk. So Roselin has been mostly alone since her mother's death. Her best friend, Kimberly, had been there for her everyday and always supported her. They had become best friends since she was five. Her best friend was six at the time. And just three months after Roselin's fourteenth birthday, Kimberly told her that she had to move. Then at the beginning of May, her friend left and Roselin had lost the only person that accepted her in.
History: Roselin Autumn Soulle was born at 7:15 pm on January 5th, 1998. Her middle name came from her mother's favorite season. Her mother always told everyone that she was a very special baby, though she had also always said that about her son as well. Roselin grew up within a very happy family. Her father always came home with a good attitude and tell his children how much he loved them. And after she was born, her mother had retired from her career as a pop/electronica singer and song writer to tend to her children.
Every night, before going to bed, her brother would tell her a made up story. Though sometimes he did read her stories from books but most of the time, he told her stories that came from his own great imagination. Every one thought that he would become a writer, and in a way he did. He had written down stories and published them in his high school news paper. But then things had somehow changed with her brother and he had suddenly set his sights on going into the Air force. And after high school, he did just that.
By this time, Roselin had gotten a new best friend, Kimberly. Kimberly had just moved into the town and the first time they had set eyes on each other, from then on they were best friends for life. Kimberly was a very laid back, cool kind of gal. She loved to see all the different kinds of art Roselin made and she always quietly listened to Roselin ramble on and on, and gave her opinion or commented a few times each. And in return, Roselin had also become a great listener and always listened to Kimberly when she had something to say.
Kimberly was also the one who had introduced Roselin to Phantom of the Opera. Kimberly had tired to read the book and didn't get it at all and didn't get even half way through it before giving it to Roselin. And she had given it to her because the only thing both of the young girls understood was that Roselin's mother's name was in it. Except the Christine in the book had a different last name so it couldn't possibly have been talking about the Christine that was Roselin's mother.
The year after that, a tragedy had hit the Soulle family very hard. Christine Annabell Soulle had been killed in a car crash. From then on, things changed very much in Roselin's household. Her father came home later and later, he no longer seemed to be happy, and although he did still tell his daughter that he loved her, he couldn't look at her. For every time he did, he only saw his wife's eyes and it had killed him so. Roselin's mother's death was also the start of her fathers addiction to alcohol.
Half a year later, her brother had died. He had gone into a practice and his air jet malfunctioned and her brother was not able to get out of it in time and it came down to the ground with him in and and killed him. After this news, Roselin never even saw her father around any more. He was always either at work, out getting drunk, or asleep. Roselin had no one to turn to for help or reassurance except for her best friend Kimberly, and her Journal that she used every so often.
Kimberly was the only one there for her through it all. And really, she couldn't have asked for anyone better. Kimberly always listened to her and comforted her. They had even made their own meeting area, in a dead garden of what seemed to be an abandoned manor. It was far enough from the rest of the town to feel like they were in their own worlds and all of the problems were no more. To keep Roselin's spirits up, Kimberly had also introduced her to the mostly happy sounding music of Owl City which she had falling in love with instantly.
It was three weeks after Roselin had turned fourteen. Kimberly and her were hanging around the garden by the manor. They had just been walking around the garden, acting as if they were a couple of rich people walking in a beautiful garden with working fountains and statues of beautiful and amazing things. But in the middle of it, Kimberly had stopped and looked as if she was going to cry. That's when Kimberly had told Roselin that she was moving and that was the last time they ever went to the garden again.
When Roselin was twelve, she had finally started to really understand Phantom of the Opera and she had become quite obsessed with it. After Kimberly had left, she had dedicated all of her time to either writing in her Journal, which had become the last ear that would listen to her, or watch Phantom movies. The plays she had to watch, bootlegged, on Youtube for asking her father to take her to one was out of the question. So that is where her story begins, a lonely girl who has lost much but still tries to be happy and that is obsessed with Phantom of the Opera.

Roselin was laying on her bed, the head of it sat at the window and she looked up and out at the night sky, the starts twinkling brightly. She had her journal out on her pillow, the full moon reflected enough natural light down onto her world that it was easy enough to write in her journal. She held a well sharpened pencil in her hand as she thought about what she wanted to say to her journal down tonight. Lately, she had been writing down in it every night because she had lost the last person who was willing to listen to her. Now her journal was the last ear that would hear her.
Dear Journal,
I fear that my father is out getting drunk again. But hes probably passed out at one of his friends houses tonight because its half past nine and he would be here already. I don't think my dad's friends are really his friends though. If they really were his friends, they wouldn't let him keep going out and getting drunk. I've tried to talk to him before but he wont listen to a fourteen year old, he just keeps telling me that I don't understand. Well I understand well enough because I lost my mother and brother too. I miss them dearly but its been years and although we have to keep remembering them, we have to let go as well.
And can you believe it?! I had tried out as Christine for the school play yesterday. I got the news this morning at school that I didn't get it which was bad enough for me but what just took the whole cake was that they told me I would do good as Carlotta! I politely reclined, even though I wanted to cry my heart out. Am I really as bad as Carlotta? I don't think I would do well at all as being Carlotta. I do my best to be polite to people and sing well and Carlotta is quite the opposite! It was either my singing or my acting was bad, maybe it was both. I usually don't put myself down so harshly but after that little incident, I think its not that absurd that I would be rambling off and ranting to you about it and saying all these things and... ug! Comparing myself to Carlotta! Well, I suppose its a good thing I am getting it out...
I with there was someone out there who would listen to me. Kimberly was the greatest friend I could ever have. Everyone else just thinks I am weird and too talkative and annoying. I am shunned from their society but I am glad. Kimberly and I had made up our own society together. But now that she is gone, I suppose I will be content for now to stick to the sides and let everyone pass by me, just I had done before Kimberly had found me and helped me. What else would I be able to do?
Maybe once I find my true love, he will understand me and listen to me. I know I talk a bit too much but I can't help it! But my love wont mind. He will just look at me and smile with his gorgeous eyes, what ever color they may be, and tell me that he loves me. I am figuring out more and more of the kind of person I hope he would be. Of course, he has to be kind of like Erik like. He has to be musically talented in some way, preferably in voice so he could sing me to sleep at night. And as I have said in last journal entries, I don't care what his face looks like, he could be deformed or he could be perfectly handsome, I don't mind either. I wish he would be a gentleman, the kind that opens the car door for me or scoots out the chair for me and scoots it back in after I thank him and sit down in it. Oh you know Journal, I can go and on.
Imagine, Kimberly would listen to me say this all and sometimes I could even say it all in one breath! Okay, maybe that's not true but you know what I am trying to get at. You know Journal... I haven't visited that old manor since Kimberly left. You know, the one we use to hang out a lot at? I remember when Kimberly told me last year that she could have sworn that someone had been living in the manor but we never saw anyone go in or come out. I said it must have been a ghost and since then I had been wishing to catch a glimpse of a ghost at the manor. About a week before she left she told me that she found out that someone had been living in the manor but last year a few weeks after she had told me that she thought she saw someone walking around in the manor, that they had died. I wondered why they never tried to chase us off their property before. Of course we never went in but we did frequently walk through the dead garden by the manor and sometimes in the creepy forest, though it never did really scare me of course. But anyways, about visiting that old manor.
I think in the morning, I am going to go back to it and visit it. And now that I know for sure that no one is living in it now, maybe I could take a look at the inside. Kimberly and I never had the guts to go inside before. Maybe if I go inside in the morning, I could call her and tell her all about it! Even if there isn't anything exciting in it. Maybe I will finally see a ghost! That would be so cool! And even though no one would probably believe me, I could still confirm everyone's beliefs about the manor being haunted. I had heard rumors about it but no one really went in to investigate. Maybe I'll be the first one! Well now, I am finished talking your pages off for tonight and will probably write to you some more tomorrow night.
Good night Journal.
And with that, she closed the journal and put it on her bed side table. She put her now extremely dull pencil next to her journal. Roselin then laid down under the dark silver covers of her bed and looked up at the glow in the dark stars and planets on her ceiling. She looked at the largest star on her ceiling that was above her head. She then closed her eyes tight and wished aloud. "I wish... I wish.... I wish that tomorrow I will have the courage to go into that manor tomorrow.... and have a great adventure and to find something exciting and interesting." She then reopened her eyes. In Roselin's mind and eyes, the star she had wished upon had now been glowing just a tad bit brighter before. Her eyes closed for the last time for the night and she fell into a deep sleep, dreaming about the adventure she might be having in the morning.
