The Plot
A long time ago, a castle was built. A short time ago, it's last owner died. Little did the owner know that the castle was extremely haunted, by kings, queens, princes and paupers of the past. All sorts of ghosts inhabited the place, and they looked after the owner of the castle as if the owner was royalty himself. The castle was now deserted, falling apart except for a few rooms which the owner used in their lonely solitude, which are furbished with modern electronics and luxuries (such as indoor plumbing, television, and all the comforts of a normal home (this is all near the kitchen, obviously)). Well, what were the ghosts to do now that the place was abandoned?
They knew exactly what to do. They called upon their spiritual powers and pillaged through the owner's dvd collection. The only ones they could find all had to pertain to "the Phantom of the Opera," based on a novel written long ago in the early 1900's. The owner also owned the original novel, bootlegs of the stageshows based on the novel, and manuscripts of novels the owner was working on based on the story. The ghosts were intrigued and wanted to meet the folk living inside this great work of literature. They are slowly beginning to bring one by one characters from each version out, to honor the fandom of their dead owner.
However, nothing really goes as planned, as the Phantom characters, pulled out of their respective stories and into the real (and very modern) world, have no idea what to do with themselves, and all think themselves the true representation of their work. They battle and fight, and the ghosts have to put up with it, for the magic can't be undone. They have to work together, live together, and deal with each other, and when the villagers of the small town down the road start snooping, wondering what all the ruckus is, things are BOUND to get ghastly!
