Appearance
Body type: Thin and lanky, looks taller than he is.
Eye color: Blue.
Wardrobe: Sweaters & jumpers, t-shirts & jeans, tanks.
General Appearance: Being skinny makes Andy appear taller than he is, but he’s never been an intimidating guy; his posture is straight, but far from tense. He’s skinny, though toned. He’s quite fidgety, always resisting the urge to fiddle with something nearby; there’s always a Rubik’s cube on his desk. He’s a cheery guy, usually with a smile on his face when talking to someone, but oftentimes his neutral face is one of intense thought, like he’s trying to remember something from long ago. His formal dress comes out when he’s working as a pianist, but usually, he’s just casual. He’s horrible at matching clothes, but he has Seb to buy most of them anyways. Most comfortably, however, he wears jeans and tshirts. He’s not often unpresentable, though; he usually attempts to tame his somewhat crazy hair in the morning enough, and when going out, he puts a bit too much hair gel in. In all honesty, he really needs glasses (he’s colorblind and horribly near sighted), but hates wearing them and he’s too lazy to keep them at hand or wear contacts, so he’s a little bumbly. Occasionally, a childhood stutter comes through.
Nowadays, he’s stuck in the clothes he died in; he wears an old grey Morrisey t-shirt and black track pants. It freaks him out a little, but it doesn’t particularly matter; he has problems staying in human form anyways, so most of the time he’s horribly transparent and rarely has the strength to pick up anything.

Personality
In all honesty, Andy was a pretty average, run of the mill kinda guy. A bit quirky, but otherwise normal. Always the nice guy, though sometimes more snarky comments would slip through, thanks to his slight obliviousness. But rarely was he not enjoyable to be around, and he loved helping others. He was raised to be very polite and respectful. He adored children and volunteered with special needs kids from high school. He was very likeable, and he liked people too. There was a somewhat awkward quality to him, the lanky, nerdy kid he used to be sometimes showing through, especially when he was with Seb. He was smart - his degree was in accounting and sociology - but he could be a bit ditzy and when it came to names and dates, he wouldn’t remember a thing.
He’d always been tolerant and inclined to like people, but a little impatient; he appreciated acceptance and honesty, and when someone was doing something he didn’t like, he would reach the end of his rope a little too quickly; getting into fights was always a weakness of his. He hated liars and phonies, but he wasn’t terribly critical. He tried to be non-judgemental, after everything that happened in high school.
He wasn’t quiet, but also not the kind of person to reveal a lot of information about himself unless prompted; he was very private about his home life. He got especially nervous around some touchier subjects, mostly in term of his sexuality, when it came to his childhood. But he wouldn’t lie to people outright about it, usually. He worried a lot about other people’s problems, and what other people thought of him. Depending on how confident he felt, he usually felt like he was likeable but a bother.
His favorite things included playing the piano and soccer, though he tried not to get too excited about sports for Seb’s sake. He avoided seeming like a huge jock, but there was a lot of himself that was just amplified in high school as a defense that he was afraid to show again as an adult. He liked watching Star Trek with Seb, but he didn’t watch all that much TV. He prefered talking to people, and hated awkward silences. He was a bit of a joker, though sometimes his jokes contained such obscure references that nobody got the punchline. He tried to tone down his sarcasm, but it came out in significant bursts that sometimes left newer friends confused. Always a pretty peppy kid, he tried not to be too annoying or clingy for friendship, though he was always a pretty physically touchy guy.
His least favorite thing in the world was being left alone, one of the reasons why being in a turmoilous, in-between state of consciousness and resurrection left him terrified and changed. He felt abandoned, and then guilty, because he abandoned Seb as well. The fact that he was alone when he died, and then nobody found the body for weeks left him with a bad taste in his mouth, especially because it was where everyone who was, at the time, in the manor could see and tip-toed around. As his consciousness grew, the other ghosts were kind to him, but his confidence in the situation was so low that it’s been a year and he still has trouble staying in a human form and communicating. It leaves him frustrated and more introverted than he ever was.
Dreams and Goals: To gain some sense of finality in his own death.
Strengths: Helpful, musical, excitable.
Weaknesses: Unconfident, forgetful, now bitter.
Fears: The conditions of his own death & resurrection, and what Seb would think if he found him.

The Past
Ruth Johnson: Mom, Mark Johnson: Father, Lucas Johnson: younger brother, Sebastian Martin: Husband.
History: Andrew Johnson was born the end of July 1979 in Annapolis, Marland to Mark and Ruth Johnson, very kind, though conservative parents. His brother Lucas was born a bit over two years later. They grew up wealthy and loved, a good, Catholic upbringing that bread manners and generosity. He was a friendly and hyper child, his favorite thing to do going exploring in the woods behind the house with his friends. From seventh grade he went to Catholic boarding school in Connecticut, where he played football and hung out with the popular kids. He realized he was gay in tenth grade, but kept it to himself until he graduated; the stress of staying closeted got to him seriously for a while, but he reassured himself that he only had a few years left and then he could be himself. He came out to his parents after graduation, and though disapproving, they didn’t have too much to say on the subject; he stayed religious in college, but was liberal.
College at NYU was where he really opened up and become more of the person he was when he was younger. He matured and lost the too-hyper attitude of a teenage boy, but stayed friendly and mischievous. Throughout high school and college, he retained a summer job at the center for developmentally challenged kids in Annapolis. He met Sebastian late 1999, literally running into the man he would spend the rest of his life in a relationship with. Sebastian was just starting his graduate work at NYU, and after Andy graduated with a degree in accounting and sociology, they moved in together, renting a small but cozy studio flat just outside of downtown to live in. Andy hopped between a variety of low-wage jobs for years until they settled in a flat downtown when Andy was 25. It was there that Andy ran a tea shop downstairs from their home.
While their relationship had their ups and down, like all, they rarely had serious fights through all their time together, even having gotten together so young. Andy wanted children, Seb wasn’t so sure; Seb liked dogs, Andy wasn’t so keen on them. Money often became an issue in the very beginning. But they always got through it. Over the years, Andy’s parents become more accepting of Andy’s sexuality and by their ten year anniversary, Sebastian was invited into their home without much argument. They got married in 2010 after gay marriage was legalized, spending their honeymoon in England. A few months later Seb was laid off from his job as a teacher due to cuts, and it seemed like an opportunity to start anew; they decided to try living in England for a time, because it would be an interesting thing to do and a teacher from Seb’s school had suggested looking into a school he’d once taught at he was sure would have a position for Sebastian. And so, after years in NYC, the two packed up their home and moved to a small English village.
It was far away from what they had always lived like, but they both loved it. Seb’s new job went well, and Andy started a new job as an assistant speech pathologist & counselor at the same school Seb worked at. The city was only a train ride away but they were living in a beautiful, more rural area like what Seb grew up in, which they both liked. They were finally looking into adoption when Andy disappeared.
It was a drizzly morning when Andy went out for a jog with Data, bored with Seb at work. They’d been warned not to go up to the old manor on the hill, because it was “haunted and falling apart,” but Andy decided the warnings were probably just superstition. He found a magnificent place, still beautiful, if not dusty and a tad creepy, and poked around for over an hour. Data was antsy, so Andy tied him to a pole outside while he walked around, admiring the scenery. He looked through old books (accidentally tearing some pages), wondering how this place wasn’t a museum yet, and found a beautiful room with an ancient piano inside. He played his favorite songs, and despite how out of tune the strings were, he loved the rustic sound they gave off. The last thing he remembered was standing up from the keys with a smile on his face. In retrospect, it wasn’t the worse death.
By the time he was regaining consciousness, all he could think of was Seb - though it’s out of his in-and-out memory, it was the first time he appeared to Seb, only as a weak consciousness, but just enough to accidentally lead Seb to his body. Over the last year he’s been gaining strength and forming more solidly, but he’s still confused and weak. He stays close to the other ghosts, but he can’t quite believe in their existence, really, let alone his own. He saw Phantom of the Opera once in college and played the score for a concert once, but that’s all; he doesn’t really get everything that’s happening in any capacity and his interactions with anyone but the kinder ghosts has been extremely limited. That is, when he can interact; he’s had serious issues communicating more than feeling and often times he loses days; finds gaps in his memory that he can’t find the start or end to. Bitterness and fear keeps building up and he’s afraid if something doesn’t change soon, it never will, because the question - the real big question, the one he’s been asking since the start of all of this - is: Isn’t there more than this?
RP Sample
The air is springy, even though it’s really summer by now. Well, perhaps it’s summer weather, but he’s so used to the weather in America, still, that it always feels like Spring here, to him. It’s confusing, that it’s so nice, when he feels so trapped.
It’s the feeling he gets when you’ve just woken up, and your bones feel like they need to be stretched another inch before you’re regular again. His skin is prickly, like the hour after a fever, numb. There’s every season at once, cycling faster than he’s sure they ever have before, but he feels like he’s been here forever. Here, in... what is it? He can’t tell. He just knows he wants Seb,needs Seb, because it feels like years since he last saw him.
Andy had two of his front teeth pulled when he was in fourth grade and it feels like that, but everywhere, mixed in with the pull of stagnancy and phantom ants crawling up his arms. Everything’s too bright, even though the one named Will assures him no lights are on. Will says to think, to try and fix himself, but Andy can’t figure out how he’s supposed to do that. All he can focus on is how confused he is, and how he thinks he’s died but he’s not quite sure how, and how is that possible? How can he be thinking at all?
The more he remembers the more he wants to reject every thought, because they’re horrible, and he doesn’t want to accept them. He wants to be with Seb, to feel Seb’s strong arms around his own, his body close, instead of the way he feels now; for the first time, the air around him truly seems endless, and no matter how mild the temperature is, he hates the feeling with every fibre of his being.
