Christine nodded a little. It had only been a few days before that her beloved betrothed had found her here in this tragic place, at a moment when she had finally lost all hope that he would ever be able to. Honestly, she could not be more overjoyed to finally have him back beside her.
“Well.... we are not quite sure any more as to when we are marrying, to be quite honest... These recent events... well... they have somewhat pushed back out plans.... We had been planning on eloping and leaving Paris, and yet now.... now we are here without knowing how... and we do not even know where here is exactly... It is all so terribly confusing...”

"So you don't know either..." Teressa sighed. "I've no idea where in the world this manor is...I know it sounds strange, but it's almost as if the house is alive..." She furrowed her brow. She knew it sounded REALLY out there, but she noticed that the whole place seemed to be watching its inhabitants. She hated that feeling...that she was always being watched. She always felt like she had to look behind her when she walked down a corridor by herself.
She looked over at the little blonde girl. She didn't want to make her uncomfortable, but that was how Teressa felt. She thought she might as well be honest...

Christine couldn't help bit to shiver a bit when the woman mentioned that the house seemed like it was almost alive. Just the thought of such was rather frightening. She had often heard the expression 'the walls have ears' but she had only really thought of it in terms of people listening behind the walls. While she didn't believe that such a thing could actually happen, the idea was rather frightening.
“What makes you think that?” she ask after some hesitation. Buildings cannot be alive, she thought to herself in reassurance. It's impossible. Buildings cannot be alive...

"Have you ever noticed...well, how the layout changes from time to time? I find myself walking down the corridor to the ballroom, when just moments before I'd been headed in the opposite direction! It's only minuscule changes, but still...I have suspicions."
Teressa twiddled her fingers, feeling a little nervous just talking about the subject. "I apologize, I don't mean to make you nervous. I just thought perhaps you'd like to know. It's rather important, after all, that we who live here trust each other. If we are to coexist, we must do so peacefully and without conflict, yes?" Erik had already relayed to Teressa the different stories he'd heard on his little commutes to and from the greenhouse that he'd been restoring. Stories, for example, of some of the men who lived below, with them. Men who were kidnappers and murderers, people that she - Teressa - should stay away from.

Christine was a little bit surprised at what the other young woman had asked. She had merely thought it had been from all of the strain that had been put on her emotions and psychological state as to why she had been having difficulties keeping her place in the manor. She normally had a very keen sense of direction.
“No, no, it's not you're fault, really. There's no reason to be sorry... This place has always unnerved me... I... I would certainly hope it possible, though frankly I'm not so sure. I've no intention to remain here though – of that, I am certain.”

"You and I both, Mademoiselle." Teressa furrowed her brow. This Manor was....different. BAD different. She didn't like it. Suddenly, a clock chimed, making Teressa nearly jump out of her skin. Oh dear...she'd forgotten that Erik had wanted to see her! He'd be mad if she didn't show up to talk to him and share a meal...
"I...I have to go." Without much explanation, Teressa started to her feet and took to a sprint, dashing from the library. Damn it all if she was late! Oooh, Erik would have her HEAD for this!
