Awakening early the next day she looked around her surroundings and placed back on her boy clothing she wore within the lair of the Opera House. Finding a hair brush within her bedroom she brushed her long blonde hair and made sure everything was alright. After tying up her shoes she walked out of the bedroom and looked around her surroundings. She had a couple of days to explore the Manor and she hoped that she would find her way eventually soon without any trouble. This place was truly remarkable and beautiful all in one.
Meg walked down the staircase to the foyer and she pushed back the doors of the manor and found a garden that had very bright red roses everywhere you looked. The sun was baring down upon the manor and she looked around her surroundings as she walked out. She heard the gravel underneath her feet as she walked and she looked up at the sky as she watched birds and clouds come in without a warning. It was a beautiful morning and she continued to walk around.
Lost in her thoughts Meg didn't see where she was going. Another blonde was within the garden with her as well and she didn't see her. While she walked around the garden she had bumped into her and caught her in time before she fell. "I'm so sorry Miss, i didn't see you!" she said lightly as she helped her stand. "Are you hurt? Forgive me, I didn't see you like I said before" she said in a panicing manner. Her voice was shaking and Meg stepped back and she looked at the other blonde. Meg's eyes widened with fear and worry for the other girl, she only hoped that she was alright.
Meg didn't want to cause any enemies whilst she was trapped in this place. Stepping back she brushed off a piece of blonde hair off her shoulder and she looked at the other woman as she waited for her response to see if she was alright. The blonde closed her eyes and took a deep breath then opened them back up again to study the girl in front of her.

Meg had needed some fresh air after the days of containment in that dusty old mansion, so she decided to go out to the garden and pretend like she was in France again, perhaps in the magnificent Tuileries, or le Jardin du Luxembourg. This garden was decaying, but it was still nice to pretend under the warm sunlight.
The girl had found an assortment of sketchbooks in her room, some full, others blank. The owner of the room previously was a great artist, but there was no signature on any of her drawings (she assumed it was a woman from the amount of female clothing in the closet). She took a blank book out and was drawing the decrepit fountain on a bench nearby, when she noticed a single rose had begun to bloom on the bush just on the other side of the fountain. She smiled, setting her book down and walking over to it. It was so nice to see a splash of color in the rather lifeless garden. Come to think of it the whole grounds seemed a bit lifeless, including the mansion.
She bent down and smelled the rose, nearly touching the petals with her calloused fingers, but she didn't lest it die. The fingers... she touched them though. They were only calloused because they were still healing from the cuts and scrapes when she'd broken that mirror. This, this living here... this was the price she had to pay for her rage. She sighed, standing up and attempting to walk away.
This was when she was bumped into by the young girl. "Oof!" she cried, almost falling onto the bush, but the girl righted her. She scratched her head, looking down at the little blond mass of hair who kept babbling on about being sorry. "It's alright, it's alright! 'S just a mistake is all, no big deal!"
Meg raised a fine blonde eyebrow... at the same eyebrow on the other girl. Well, it wasn't exactly the same, but they were very similar. Both their hair was golden blonde, and they were both very petite women, though she felt the other girl was a bit shorter than she (though Meg did have slight heels on). "Hey there, I haven't seen you before!" she said, holding out a hand. "My name's Marguerite Giry, but you can call me Meg. Everyone else does, except when they don't, haha!" She smiled and tilted her head. The rose was still in her peripheral vision, and was starting to remind her of a bloody heart...

Sunlight felt good upon the young blonde's skin as she walked out of the manor to see the beautiful garden everyone had told her about. Meg had heard the gravel underneath her boots and she smiled softly as she fixed her white shirt. Meg continued to walk around the roses and many other type of flowers. It was a glorious day and she looked up at the sun. Her hair was down straight upon her back as she continued on walking through the gardens. Just then she hadn't been watching where she was going and she bumped into another blonde.
Fixing her hair after standing back up she looked at the girl with wide eyes. This girl had the same color hair as her and even the same colored eyes. Could this be the older version of herself? Meg wasn't too sure. This place was already starting to confuse her with the thousands of people who lived within this manor. Meg's eyes widened still then she shook her head a bit and stepped back fixing her shirt lightly. "I'm just now happy that you're alright. I should look where I go next time" she said in her raspy voice. Meg still was amazed that this girl seemed to look exactly like her. It was rather eerie actually.
"Its nice to meet you Meg" she said softly nodding her head to the young blonde. "My name is Marguerite Jules Giry..." she said softly sticking her hand out for her to shake. "Most people also call me Meg. I guess that's a common name yes?" she said with a small smile. Meg noticed the girl had a flower in her hand and she smiled softly a bit and lowered her hand then placed it on her chest for a moment unsure of what to believe. "How long have you been here within the Manor Meg?" she asked curiously looking upon her. Meg then thought of an idea. "How about this.. so we don't confuse people. You can call me by my middle name if you like which is Jules of course" she said offering a friendly smile.

"My name is Marguerite Jules Giry..."
Meg raised her eyebrow again. This girl was full of surprises. "That's a little strange... us having the same name." She thought for a moment, folding her arms across each other and looking up to the sunny sky. "It makes me think of how many Christines there are in this place. You don't suppose... No! Of course not, I'm me, and you're you!" She laughed, as if the girl knew what she was talking about. "It is a common name, that's just it. I guess mothers liked to name their blonde little girls Meg Giry a lot once upon a time!" She smiled.
"I've been here a few weeks, maybe more. It might even be a month! I'm not sure, time seems to slip away from us here." She moved away from the rose and moved to sit on the bench right next to the fountain, which was across from where she'd originally been sitting. "Say, that's a good idea! You don't have to call me Meg if you don't want to, but I don't have a middle name. Mother never saw the need for it, it would seem." She shrugged, gesturing the girl to sit next to her. She'd been one of the few civil people she'd come across in the manor, what with her knowing the Vicomte de Chagny was here, as well as a few unsavory characters.
"Where are you from? Oh oh wait! Let me guess..." She put her index and middle fingers to both sides of her temples and feigned reading her mind. "Paris?!" she laughed, letting her hands fall. "Everyone seems to be from Paris here. If you are, I'm not surprised. I lived in Paris a long time ago, but now I live in New York City. At least... I did before I came here."

This place was beginning to get more and more stranger to Meg. The other Meg seemed to be an older version of herself. When she spoke she tilted her head a little. Meg said nothing as she listened to her speak. "You're telling me.. I've had so many encounters with spirits, the Phantom himself and just a whole bunch of people. This place is strange and I don't think I can handle being here any longer" she said turning away from the other Meg. The blond placed a hand to her head and she was feeling as if she was going to explode or something. Meg wasn't too sure onto what to say to the other one and she looked up at her as she spoke.
A light laugh escaped Meg as she spoke about their names being Common. "Yes, I suppose it is a common name. I just wish people would just name their child something different. Other than Meg. I don't know why my mother gave me it but.." she trailed off and shrugged her shoulders a little. The other Meg had begun to tell her how long she was here for. And she nodded her head lightly as she did. Meg remained silent after that little word.
To her surprise the other Meg gestured for her to come over and sit by her. Leaning back in the bench they were on she felt the breeze come and she closed her eyes feeling it. Meg said nothing more and she just turned her attention to lok at her a little. She was able to study her and she listened to her speak. This Meg was very friendly and enjoyable to talk to. "You don't have a middle name?" she questioned. "Interesting. I think you're the first person out of all the people I met who doesn't have a middle name" she said as she relaxed a little more now. The breeze that came to her again felt nice and she needed to some fresh air. "I've been here for a few weeks. I'm not really sure to be honest. I should probably keep track" she said as she gave a small laugh and reached up to scratch her forehead then lower down her hand and stared out ahead of her again.
Meg turned her attention back to the other one she smiled softly. "Yes, I'm from Paris. This is my first time out of my little city.." she said giving a small smile. Nodding to her she said nothing. "I guess Paris is a lot bigger than people think" she said giving a laugh. "Oh, New York?" she questioned a gain looking over at her. "What were you doing in New York if I may ask?" she asked as she was trying to make conversation with the girl.

"You don't have a middle name?" the girl asked. "No, but you know, people always call me the Oh! La La girl where I'm from, so it's not exactly confusing when the Meg's in NYC don't have a title like that."
She sat thinking for a moment, rubbing her chin. "You've got to have something to call me. It would be weird for you to call me Meg when your name is Meg... hmm..." She recalled her stage name again. "Ah! I know, how about you call me Lola? Sounds like Oh! La La, and we'll avoid confusion!" She smiled, patting the girl's hand.
"We could keep track of each other's time, how's that sound? And Paris seems so far away. It's been ten years since I've been there, probably more now that time has passed while here. New York is a swell place, but I do miss home." She shrugged when she asked her what she'd been doing in New York. "We just sort of immigrated there, and now I work as a showgirl on Coney Island. It's a sort of amusement park, or just a place for people to go and have fun!"
"What do you do in Paris, anyway? And how's it been since I left, eh?"

The blonde looked at the other version of her self as she spoke to her. What did that mean? 'The Oh! La La Girl'. Meg was slightly confused upon that and she looked at her for a few moments. Meg nodded her head slowly and said nothing after a while. She was still in shock at what was happening around her. Looking out ahead of her, Meg could feel the girl patting her hand. She seemed nice and Meg was enjoying her company.
Meg turned her direction back to the other Meg she tilted her head a little as she spoke to her. "Hm, I like the sound of that. Yes. You're right it does sound like a little bit of Oh! La La. I think I've come to the decision and I'll call you Lola!" she said giggling after a while. Meg grinned and she smiled upon her.
"I like the way you think Lola..." she said softly nodding her head a little. "I think keeping track of one name is good" she told her suddenly. "Paris is in fact a long way from here. I can't wait to go back home to it" she said sighing looking down at the ground. Perking her head back up she looked at Lola and said nothing. "Really. What was it like?" she questioned. "Coming from New York to London?" she asked curiously. Meg was very interested in this girl. "I would love to come there and see you perform" she said in a cheery voice. "Coney Island sounds like a fun place, If I had the chance to come there one day I hope to run into you so you could show me around" she said grinning.
When Lola asked her upon what she did in Paris she said nothing for a moment. "I'm a ballerina still. Working my way up to become one of the best dancers out there. Considering my mother always tends to push me much more harder than anyone else it seems." she said looking down. "And upon Paris, its interesting. Going well. New shows at the Opera were about to open as I was snatched from my home to come here" she said suddenly. "This place is all very strange.." she told her as she looked around her surroundings then back at her. "Have you had a chance to look around while you stayed here Lola?" she questioned softly as she studied the other girl.

The way little Jules spoke was strange, but it reminded her of when she was young and still naive. Her movements were that of her youth; she was still a dainty, prim, proper and bustling ballerina, her body always en pointe with her mind. It made Meg rather... sad to look at her. A long forgotten dream rested in her eyes... She wished to bring it back herself, though she didn't know how.
Meg laughed at her saying she should come and see her perform. "Maybe you should wait a few years, kid, before you make that trip. New York isn't the easiest of places for people your age." Nor was it the kindest. She didn't say this aloud, but she hoped little Jules never set foot on Manhattan island, lest she be tainted the same way she was.
Her comment about her mother made Meg miss hers all the more. "Your momma sounds like mine... So strict with rehearsals! But she only does it because she loves me, er you! Haha!" She touched her lips and crossed her legs, rubbing her elbow with her other hand. "Paris must be brimming with excitement now... I can just see the glittering lights of the opera now!" She sighed, closing her eyes and turning her head. "Oh! All the glamorous fur coats and long dresses, the men in suits and the elegant dancing and champagne! I miss it so!" She sighed again. "I love New York, but there's no place like home, like that fellow in Oz says!" she laughed. "But I guess this is our home now... I've been wandering this place for weeks and weeks, and I still can't make heads or tails of it!"

The blonde looked at Lola for a moment as she spoke to her. "I hope to go there someday. It sounds fascinating" she said softly. "You know? I feel rather foolish on saying this..but, this is my first time traveling outside of Paris. I've never been anywhere else except Paris. Strange right?" she said sighing and looking down then looking up at the sky. It was truly a beautiful day at the manor, Meg couldn't ask for more.
A light smile came upon Meg's face when Lola spoke upon her mother. She couldn't help but giggle when she spoke about their mother. "Its strange, its as though we have the same mother. Well, not really. But they sound so much alike" she said softly. "With all the strictness and the same temper they hold, it sounds like it would be interesting if they met" she said chuckling. "Well, at this point. I'm not really sure what's going on in Paris to be honest" she said leaning back and looking around.
"I know what you mean. London's wonderful but..I just hope we can return to our own area's soon" she said softly. Meg then played with the necklace that once belonged to her mother and she gave it to her for her eighteenth birthday present. Turning back to Lola she looked at her. "Want to explore some more Lola?" she asked curiously. "I wonder how long this garden goes for!" she said standing and shielding her eyes from the sun and looking off into the distance.

Meg leaned back in the bench. "I wouldn't say it's odd. I led a pretty sheltered life myself before moving to New York. You'll get there one day, all that experience. Hell, you're already living the dream!" she said sarcastically. "Though who knows where we are now. We could be in Timbuktu for all I know, considering I haven't met a man or woman who actually lives in this area."
As little Jules continued to speak, Meg noticed how young she really did seem. It made Meg wish for that same innocence of youth again. She lost it not long ago, drifting in the sea... She waved her hand. "I'm sure they're getting on fine without us. Even if mother is worried sick, she's probably still packing the dough with the other girls on Coney. And Mister Y... Why he's probably... Er..." She picked up a piece of her hair and twirled it around her finger, looking up. "Y-Yeah, I'd like to explore some more," she said after a moment.
"You don't see much of this greenery in NYC, or at least I don't. Just the sea, and the concrete..." said lightly, standing up with her notebook and tucking it under her arm. "Why don't you lead the way then?" she said, looking back at Jules after squinting in the bright sunlight.

While sitting there with Lola she looked over at her as she spoke to her. A smile was upon her face as she poke to her about New York. It all sounded so fascinating to Meg. Considering she had never been out of Paris before, and that London was her first place, she hoped to travel all over the place someday. "You think?" she asked looking at Lola for a moment. She sat back and looked away from Lol for a moment . Still listening to her words. "From who I met in the ballroom one night, he tells me that we are in a place called London or somewhere like that" she said looking upon Lola again and going silent again.
The young blonde looked back over at Lola again as she spoke about Coney Island. That place would remain a mystery to Meg, for she would never go there. Well, not in a while at least. Meg tilted her head as she spoke about this Mr. Y, person. "He sounds interesting, and fascinating" she said suddenly looking at him curiously. "He's probably what Lola?" she asked curiously as she tilted her head a little. Wondering why Lola trailed off. Perhaps it wasn't her place. "Forgive me.. Lola. You-You don't have to continue if you don't want to. I was just wondering is all. Because, well. You seemed to uhm, Trail off there" she said suddenly looking away al little. Then when she heard that she would love to explore some more she brightened a little. "Wonderful!" she said grinning brightly and then rising and fixing her shirt a little and her hair and then looking back at her.
Standing up she looked over at her again as she spoke about not seeing much greenery. "Well....Lola, where should we begin? Im' willing to lead you anywhere you wish" she said giggling a little. Meg tucked back a stray of golden hair out of her eyes and then she placed it behind her ear.

Meg shrugged. "That's what I've heard too, but I'm not sure. If we're in London, then where's the real civilization, instead of this dump?" She leaned back on the back of the bench, sighing, "It all seems hopeless. I feel as if we'll never go home." That is, if Meg really wanted to go home.
Did she? She loved NYC, but here, she suddenly felt as if she could start all over again, rebuild her life from the bottom up. She'd made a shoddy job of it back when she was given the chance ten years ago. And was her life really all that bad in Paris? She could hardly remember anymore...
But in Paris she hadn't known Erik. A life without knowing that extraordinary man might as well have not been a life at all, even if it was one where she couldn't catch a break.
"Nothing, nothing," she said when Jules questioned her. "He's nothing..." Her eyes glazed over. 'More like everything,' she thought.
Her thoughts were always concerned with what Mister Y was doing, but at the moment she wanted to forget... if only for a moment. Meg wrapped her arm through the girl's. "I have no idea. I suppose the garden is a jungle we must tame, non?" she added with flair. She giggled.
Just keep smiling...

As Meg sat there on the bench next to Lola she looked over at her. She listened to her speak and she said nothing. "I'm not too sure to be honest. They could be anywhere" she said suddenly as she looked over at her. Studying her again. "Could be miles away from us or something like that" she said in a small voice. Her eyes then looked down at the ground then back over at her. "I hope we can go home. Mother is all alone at the Opera House, and I'm just worried about her" she said frowning a moment later.
New York sounded like a fascinating place to go and she hoped someday she can go there and experience it all. The young blonde rose and paced a bit as she thought about what New York was like. Meg looked back over at Lola again as she spoke.
This Mister Y person sounded intriguing to Meg as well. She wondered what he was like and what he looked like. "He sounds more like a something to me..." she said a moment later as she broke their silence. Meg walked over and smiled a dainty flower petal that was on the ground.
Turning her attention back to Lola she looked at her again. She felt her wrapping an arm around her own. Then she smiled softly and giggled along with her. "It seems that way doesn't it.." she said looking at her then at all the beautiful flowers around them.
