June has come, and for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, that means that summer is here, and with it, the usual “Vacation” time. Keeping this vacation theme in perspective, here are a few prompts for all of you to work on to build up muse and earn a bit of cash in the process (I’ve heard rumours that the shop is in progress, so you can hopefully cash them in soon X3). Remember that when you reply to a prompt, it’s worth 15 euro. Once you’ve posted, you should go leave a note in the IOU to remind the admins so you can get your due cash monies.
OPTION ONE – DREAM VACATION
If your character could go on Vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be? Why is it that they want to go there specifically? What sorts of things would they want to see and do there? Would it be an exciting vacation, or a relaxing one… or both? Would they want to go alone, or with someone else? Now, write a short explanation of your character’s dream vacation that addresses all of the questions listed previously in this prompt. Your response should be written in third person and contain proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and must be at least three paragraphs in length.
OPTION TWO – TRIP-PLANNING
Your character is planning a Vacation somewhere. Where are they going? What are they doing to prepare for the Vacation? What sort of things are they packing along? Who is going with them, if anyone? Why are they going on vacation? Now, imagine that it is the day before your character is going to go on their Vacation. Write about your character’s day, and what all it entails. Your post should be at least five paragraphs in length and contain proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
OPTION THREE – THE VACATION GONE AMUCK
Your character has gone off on what should have been the vacation of a lifetime, but everything that can go wrong seems to be doing so, and then some. Write a short story about your character’s terrible vacation and all of its horrid details. Your story should be at least eight paragraphs in length (story length) and contain proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. It may be written in either third or first person depending upon the preference of the typist and what they feel will be the most effective means for conveying their story.
OPTION FOUR -- OM NOM NOM!
Your character has just won an all expenses paid cruise for two in the balmy Mediterranean. BUT WAIT! There's more... While relaxing on deck, soaking up some sun and sipping fruit smoothies with tiny paper umbrellas in them through a brightly colored striped straw, suddenly CRASH! The cruise ship (which is ironically named the S.S. Titanic Too!) hits something. Wondering what dare interrupt their relaxing cruise, they pop up from their plastic folding chair, smoothie in hand, to go see what the dealio is. They find that the ship has hit a giant 400 foot big you--yes, YOU, the typist-- square in the stomach. Enrages, this giant sea monster typist whips out a bib and puts it on before scooping up the cruise ship and beginning to devour it like a giant sea-monster-sized submarine sandwich! NOW write about you character experiencing this, and what they do in terms of evacuation for a giant cruise-ship-eating-sea-monster-typist. Your response must be at least five paragraphs in length.Spelling and grammar are for n00bs Your response must contain proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
