Straightening as she reacted to the touch of his lips. She moved away a few inches and he reacted as well. His hands took her arms to draw her back against him. A hand moved to her face, turning it to look at him while the other arm slid around her waist to hold her back against him. It was an erotic sensation as his breathing increased while gazing down upon her exotic beauty. He could barely breath and yet he was breathing hard and fast. Those garnet eyes only enhanced in the moonlight to which he was utterly mesmerized by them when he gazed deeply into her eyes. Such an exotic beauty, he thought. So exotic. So... erotic.
Unable to restrain himself, he leaned in to take her ruby lips in a wanting kiss, gently molding them with his unsavory mess of a mouth. His hand caressed her face and down her neck to the top of her chest then back up to her jawline.

From the shadows, Erik could no longer restrain himself. That evil man had his lips on Teressa! He had noticed her subtly pull away from Destler a moment before. Still in the shadows, Erik approached ever closer. Then he fingered the Punjab lasso and quietly stepped out where he could be seen. Destler's arms were around her and he was completely involved in what he was doing. But Erik could not stand to see the disgusting man's hands over the sweet Teressa. If she had wanted it, that would have been another story, although he still would have tried to break it up, considering that Destler may have mesmerized her first.
Erik wondered how Destler had lured her out of Lavalais' home....but no matter....he had seen Teressas pull away from Destler. She did not wish to be with him. Erik had seen what he had tried to do to the little blonde Christine and how frightened she had been. He wished to spare Teressa the same fright. Erik pulled the lasso out where it was in plain sight.
"Destler! Leave her alone! Do you wish to feel my lasso about your neck again? Take your hands off of Teressa! She is not yours to misuse!"
Erik narrowed his eyes. "And how is it that you live? I put at least 4 bullets into you if not more and you were tied in the in the mausoleum with the door shut and locked when I left you...how do you explain yourself?"

Oh the feel of her lips were like fine silky-velvety rose petals. Completely lost in the sensation even if it was for a mere moment. There was no perfect setting than this. Or so it seemed. That is... until someone broke the romantic mood of the moment!
In a swift jerk he broke the kiss twisting his head slowly to glare in the direction of which the intruding voice was coming. His eyes widened while lifting his head and straightening to his full height. Bloody hell, he thought! It was that half-masked bastard. He recalled him from that night following his 'arrival' here. Stopping him from dealing with Carlotta, whom he thought he disposed of. Ahh, no matter any more. Absent-mindedly his hand flexed as it barely lifted from Teressa's upper arm as it throbbed with ache. It hadn't fully recovered from that gunshot to his hand unlike the rest of his body. True it felt a little sluggish but he'd recovered as best as he could possibly from such an event.
Slinking an arm around Teressa's shoulder and neck, not in a threatening move or deadly, but more protective as he shifted his body to stand more forward and slightly in front of her as he glared with vicious predatory behavior at Lenoir. Slowly a wicked grin appeared upon his lips. "Oh, wouldn't you like to know!" His soothing growl boomed and looked as if he was going to chuckle but did not, only continue to wickedly grin at the other opposing man. A rival suitor it seemed. Ahhh, no! Teressa was his! No one else would have her!
Tilting his head to the side as he viciously grinned at Lenoir, "I can't die!" Still holding Teressa carefully, keeping her at his side.

Teressa peered around Destler to see who it was who'd approached them. She was shaking, both from the shock of being kissed again without her permission and from the surprise at herself that she let it go on that long...Did she perhaps...enjoy it? No, no....no she wasn't the sort for romance...she never was...
"Erik?" She addressed Lenoir as soon as she caught sight of him. What was he doing out here? Not that she didn't appreciate the intervention, but still...how did he get here at the right moment?

"Teressa, are you all right?" Erik's concern for her showed in his voice. He had no idea what that madman would do to the girl, but in one way, perhaps the fact that he felt something for Teressa was in her favour...perhaps he would not hurt her then. But Erik didn't want Destler kissing her either.
"Destler, she doesn't want you...get away from her. Let her go!" Then Erik was struck by what Destler said about not being able to die. Could it be true? Much as Erik didn't want to die, he also didn't want to be immortal either. That would truly be a fate worse than death, he thought as he kept his eyes on Destler. He said, "So you can't die. Does that mean you can't feel pain?" Erik swung the Punjab lasso in order to bring the man down and get him away from Teressa.
"Teressa, get away from him!" shouted Erik as he swung the lasso near to the man's neck. He didn't want her to be too close....

His glared shifted from the half-masked man to Teressa as she said a name. The other man had the same name? For a moment he thought she was getting his attention but it was actually focused towards the intruder. This did not set well with him at all.
Shifting that glare back to the other man, "I brought her here. She came of her own free will, you curmudgeon!" Holding Teressa carefully close to him but by no means was he gripping her. Though almost did since he was fearful of losing her. By no means was he liking the face that Lenoir was ruining a rather lovely romantic moment. He growled his dissatisfaction.
Bringing up his hand quickly to put with his face as his other hand pushed Teressa away, he stepped into the lasso! He was rather disturbed that that man would even attempt to strangle him. or was it meant for Teressa to pull her away from him? A disturbing thought. No. No, it was meant for him as he wrapped around his head and wrist, he pulled against the rope ducking out of it and let it tighten around his one wrist. Grabbing hold of the lasso, standing between Lenoir and Teressa. "That... wasn't... very... nice!" he growled with a smirk. "You could have hurt her." With a tight grip upon the lasso around his wrist, he yanked at it in hopes to really knock him off balance.

Teressa was surprised when Destler pushed her out of the way. She stumbled back a couple of steps, then watched as he stepped into the path of Lenoir's lasso. But when he pulled, trying to knock Lenoir over, Teressa finally had more questions than she could take.
"What in the world is going on here? What are you two even fighting over?" She tried to walk around Destler, to see if Lenoir was hurt.

Erik had missed his mark with the Punjab lasso, which was unlike him. He had meant it to land on Destler's neck and be able to pull him down by strangling him. The man had pushed Teressa out of the way and the lasso had only encircled his hand. Erik pulled it tight nonetheless, but Destler pulled on the rope with his other hand and pulled Erik down. Furious and still on the ground, Erik pulled Destler toward him and pulled his large dagger from its sheath in one fluid motion. Destler was close enough for him to reach, even though the man was flailing at him. Erik gave a blow to the man's head with the heavy hilt of his dagger and Destler stopped moving.
Erik arose and pullled the lasso from the man's hand, putting it instead about his neck and pullling the rope tightly. He turned to Teressa. I'm going to confine him again in the mausoleum. He my be able to escape as he did before, but we will be gone."
Erik dragged the man by the neck across the grass and back to the graveyard. Inside, beyond the mausoleum's gaping open door, he found the ropes which he had tied the fellow the last time. He tied his hands securely behind his back, tied his feet and retrieved the lasso. Erik pushed hte heavy door closed. He glanced at Teressa. I'm sorry you had to see that, but it was necessary. The man is mad and he's a fiend who would kill a woman. I had to do it to protect you."
Erik brushed the dirt and dust from his clothing and offered an arm to Teressa. "Let's get out of here."

Teressa rushed from her place where she was standing. What in the world...?! She ran over to the mausoleum. "Erik, why did you do that? He...he hasn't hurt anyone!" She turned to Lenoir. "He hasn't tried to hurt me..." She cocked her head. What did he mean, that he was dangerous...Was Destler not the man she thought he was?
Walking over to Lenoir, she took his arm. Before they went back toward the manor, she stole a glance back at the mausoleum. She was so confused...poor Destler, locked up in there...but brave Lenoir, taking the initiative to keep her from possible danger...What was she to think of all this...?

The fun had just begun as he yanked Lenoir forward, grinning as the intruder fell to the ground only to be yanked forward. In a moment as he tried to react he felt a sharp cold pinch as a blow was administered and down he went, out cold. No thoughts, no reaction, nothing but just blacking out.
Eventually he woke, coming slowly out of his blackout. It was dark. Naturally. He'd forgotten that he took Teressa outside to the garden at night. Teressa. He tried to move and realized he was bound. Again. Glancing around he noticed that he was once again in that damned mausoleum. He cried out a vicious growl. And squirmed to get free. Squirming in the darkness though there was some moonlight that peeked in. He shifted and squirmed and rolled, seeking out the means of what got him loose in the first place. Not happy as he was aching and his throat felt raw. Something was hurting now. After what felt like a while, he cut the rope to his hands on a shard of glass that he used last time to help loosen the rope. This time he outright cut the rope. Reaching to his ankles, he untied the rope and tossed them both aside. He was utterly pissed and sighed with a growl.
Working at the heavy door again, he thought about Teressa. Bloody bastard had taken off with her no doubt or lord knows what. Or worse. Who knows what happened to Teressa. He felt so pinched. Thinking though, he knew where she lived... and there was only so many places she could be. He'd find her again. The door budged in inch. Oh... progress!

Erik realized that Teressa just didn't comprehend how evil Destler was. "Teressa, I had to make sure you were safe. I don't know what he would have done to you, but I do know that two of the de Chagnys and I saved little Christine DaaƩ from being killed. He insisted that her name was Carlotta and he tried to murder her. He frightened the poor girl half out of her wits. Believe me, he's dangerous. And don't take just my word for it, speak to Mademoiselle DaaƩ or either of the de Chagnys. They can tell you what happened. I personally think Destler is mad. How he came to be so, I don't know. I just know that he is dangerous."
Erik stopped just as they arrived at the entrance door to the mansion. He took her hands in his and looked at her, a sincere look in his eye. "I think he may truly have some feeling for you, Teressa, but he can turn violent. I watched him as he drew you into the garden. I saw that his advances were not completely welcome on your part, if I read you correctly. What would have happened if you had rejected him completely, I don't know. He may have killed you too."
"One more thing, he knows where you live. It's not safe there unless Lavalais is there. Promise me that you wont' stay there alone. And that you'll tell Lavalais about this so he can guard you when I cannot."

Teressa trembled. A killer? A ruthless man? She'd never thought of Destler like that, he'd never behaved that way around her...what else was she to think of him...?
She couldn't say anything. She was at a loss for words. What sorts of things had Destler accomplished that were less than honourable? What did she not know?

Trying harder and harder to open the mausoleum door. He was a mixture of anxious and knowledgeable with how long it would take for him to open that door. But... Teressa. He growled and pushed the door open two inches at the thought of Teressa with half-mask, half-wit bastard! A little pain in his shoulder and along his back as he strained.
Took him a while but he managed to open that mausoleum door just enough for him to squeeze through and stumble out. Stepping back to lean against the outer walls of the tomb, panting. As he did, he winced. Pain. His back was riddled with it now. His shoulder hurt and throat still hurt. He coughed as he looked at the moon, turned his eyes to the gazebo, then shifted them to the Manor. Pushing himself off the mausoleum he stumbled like a drunk towards the Manor. A bound and determined look upon his face. That little stint won't deter him away from Teressa. So... he made a mistake with that little blonde when he got here. So what!
As he neared the Manor, his walked was less staggered and more steady. He caught the sight of two figures. They were looking like they were just entering the Manor. He quickened his stepped to catch up with them. "TTEEERRRRREEESSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" his soothing growl boomed hoping to capture her attention. Not really like him to be calling attention to himself. But he desperately wanted Teressa! He needed her!

Erik looked up when he saw a stumbling figure racing toward Teressa and himself. What? Could Destler have escaped so soon? Erik would have had a bit of admiration for his strangth and ingenuity, except for the fact that his Teressa was in danger, and Erik himself was undoubtedly in danger as well.
The man would not give up! How could he possibly think that Erik would not fight him at every turn. There was only one snag. Destler could not die, or so he said. Erik believed him, for he seemed to have no fear of death. Erik himself could die, certainly, and he had no wish to die at the hands of this madman. And then Teressa would be at Destler's mercy.
Erik pulled Teressa into the house. He locked the door from the inside, not that that would stop Destler, merely slow him down a bit. "Teressa, you must find a place to hide until I deal with Destler...I know...there is a secret door here..." Erik pulled her with him down the hall a bit and found a hidden lever which opened a pocket door and it opened up to reveal a spiral staircase.
"Teressa, I was here not long ago. There is a clock tower at the top of this staircase, and just above a room where the clock keeper stayed. Go up to the top room and lock the door from inside. I will come for you later. Don't let anyone in unless you hear me say the words, "It's Erik from the labyrinth..."

"Alright..." Teressa stepped through the doorway, but then she thought...what was Lenoir going to do to poor Destler? Just as she turned to ask, the door shut on her.
So, turning around, she went up the spiral staircase until she found the clock-tower like he asked. She turned, shut and barred the door then thought...what was going on between those two men...Why was Destler so intent on kissing her? What say did Lenoir have in this whole mess?...What was he doing to Destler right now...
