It had been some time now since Christine had worked at all on her ballet, but seeing her friend Meg again (even if she was oddly much older than before) had inspired her to start back at it. She was never the world’s greatest dancer, and she knew it, but she did enjoy it on occasion. After all, she liked being active, and ballet was good exercise. Perhaps she could even incorporate some of it into her routines at the aquarium. After all, there were times she was to ‘dance’ under the water. She’d been a very distracted ballerina in her 3 years she danced at the Opéra Populaire, and probably always would be, but that didn’t mean it was something she couldn’t do in her free time.
She was dressed in a green and red striped leotard and soft pink tights wearing her soft-sole shoes on a sort of large grip-like mat on the floor in the ballroom, a pair of pink pointe shoes and a trenti-sized javachip frappucino to her side. Her long brown curly hair was pinned back so it didn’t fall into her face while she moved. She was sitting with her legs straight in front of her, toes pointed forward, and stretched her arms up toward the ceiling before reaching forward to grasp her toes in her hands, which she then held for about thirty seconds before releasing and sitting back up again.
She recalled Madame Giry always re-emphasizing how important it was to stretch and to be sufficiently warmed up before beginning to dance. While she wasn’t certain she’d get to any sort of actual dancing right now, she still thought it might be a good idea to do some stretching. After all, her flexibility was probably suffering a bit from her period of hiatus.
