ERIK GAUTHIER 50, Male. Lonely, Musical, Passionate
Erik is a complicated man. Nothing is simple about him, from his appearance to his personality and everything in between. He has had a long and hard life and has been used and abused in so many ways that it's hard for him to open up, let alone trust anyone. He has a temper that is deadly if he is pushed too far, but luckily it takes a lot to push him to that point. He has killed, however, and would be willing to again, especially if he feels threatened.
Music is his life. He does not feel that he could go on without it, and has stated to the few friends he does have that he would rather do away with himself than go without. He has a very addictive personality and drugs and other such addictive things are a huge downfall for him. Once he's experienced the release of them, he craves them. This leaves him at a bit of a disadvantage to anyone that can figure out a vice he would become addicted to if they can figure out how to use it against him.
As Erik is more likely to have enemies than friends, it's listed before both other sections. He is very easy to make an enemy of. Simply treating him or those he cares about badly will earn his ire. Those who have hatred for anyone not normal will likely find that he dislikes them strongly. His own harsh personality and odd mood swings make him hard to get along with and it's much more likely that someone will go away from a meeting with him with a feeling of dislike than the desire to get to know him better. Particularly if they dare to question his mask. To touch his mask is to earn an instant enemy in him.
Erik does not make friends easily. He is abrasive and rude to those who try to get close to him and prefers to keep everyone at arm's length - or further. He is incredibly lonely though and will probably at least attempt to be civil if spoken to kindly. Music is probably the best way to befriend him for anyone so inclined. While he has passion for architecture and medical sciences, he much prefers composing and singing or playing whatever instrument he happens to feel like at the time. Anyone who has a love of music as well will at least get a civil response from him to start. Those who have some musical talent will probably gain more interest still, especially if he is impressed. People who cannot sing or play may earn attention, but it won't be the response they're looking for. He is blunt when it comes to talent [or lack thereof]. This doesn't mean he won't offer suggestions to improve, however.
Erik is not looking for a relationship. He does not believe anyone would find him attractive or be able to look past his physical appearance to see the man beneath. As such he's very rude to anyone who might attempt to start something with him. He doesn't really have preferences one way or the other regarding physical gender - he's never experienced lovemaking and really has no idea what is attractive to him. He does know that he has found both men and women attractive for their voices, their minds, and how they look, but has never really been given a chance to experiment to figure things out. Due to the time he lived in, he is also rather reserved about attraction to another man - though his disdain for society's 'rules' would help him overcome that should the need arise. He is completely unversed in matters of love and will laugh at anyone who tries to educate him. He can and does feel lust, however. This has often gotten him into trouble in the past, and as such these hot and cold emotions and feelings are frightening to him. They are also irritating as well since he feels they distract from his music. Still, if approached by the right individual he might finally find someone who he can open up and relate to. He can feel passion, but it's been aimed only at music and architecture after his issues with Christine.

Okaaaaaaaay! So like I mentioned to you before, I have this funny feeling that Gauthier and Blondie are going to absolutely loathe one another, but things might be different and they surprise us XD She’s very stubborn and doesn’t like to be talked down to, or to be told what to do, and has known to be quite voiced about it even to her own Raoul (now husband). She’s all of 5’1, which will be interesting to see just physically with the height difference between the two. Perhaps they could meet somewhere like maybe a music room. It’s been a while since I’ve made Blondie practice at all. Maybe she could be practicing and he walks in… or vice versa. She goes to practice and finds him in the room. Either way is fine by me. I can start if you like, though would prefer if you did (though you have an owie tooth right now, so if you don’t want to, I know I’ll be immediately suckered to do it instead ). I also have 5 other characters if you’d be interested in plots with any of them. I have the Siren, who is the personification of the imaginary lake siren from the Leroux book; Carlotta Celestia Giudicelli, from the Andrew Lloyd Webber stage musical); Gustave de Chagny, basically the Love Never Dies equivalent of Charles if you’re not familiar; Christine Svenna Daaé, also from the Andrew Lloyd Webber Stage Musical (she’s uber outgoing if you want to shove him out of his comfort zones XD); And my ghost, Nathanael Paul Javert who is addicted to rum and loathes women… now that I think about it, Gauthier and Nate might get along quite well XD he can’t sing to save his life, but he’s quite the bassoonist.

I can't wait for him to meet Blondie. xD I'm so curious to see what happens.
I like the idea of them meeting in a music room. I'm imagining that appearing in the Manor will unsettle him, and he'll likely seek out something comforting - a music room would definitely give him that. My main tooth issue is gone, so I should be good for starting the thread.
I'd love to plot with any of your other characters, though I will confess I'm not sure how he'd take to the Siren or to Carlotta. xD I think he'd likely try to make toys for Gustave if he met him . I'd love to shove him out of his comfort zone with Christine - I think he'd have no clue what to do with her, lol. I agree that he and Nate would probably get along quite well, once he gets over the whole ghost thing. I'd love to plot something out with whoever you want to throw at Gauthier.

ahhh, Brilliant! Cannot wait to have some fun with your Erik. Christine Emilie de Chagny (Love Never Dies Christine) will most definitely want to meet him. She's a thing to know all the Eriks in the Manor, and perhaps know their faces IF they allow her to see which so far she's seen Érik's, Carriere's, Lenoir's and Mr Y's faces. Not much frightens her any more other than losing her son, her husband, Lenoir, and those whom she loves. So, Emilie and Gauthier will be an interesting meeting. I play Erik Destler, Maria Gianelli (1983 PotO with Jane Seymour as the Christine-like character), Mamma Valerius (from the novel), as well as two Villagers - Billie Cristofersen (playby is Sam Elliott) and Anastasia Goodwin-Hart (playby is Cindy Crawford). Would like to toss Maria in for a meeting and even Ana. Ana is modern and rather interesting. Lenoir can tell you that! LOL All in all, I would love for all my characters to meet yours. But I think Emilie, Maria and Ana are the one's I'd like to see meet Gauthier first or more often. What do you think? Lemme know when and where. I've no set ideas other than at least meeting and going from there. Ana is a horse person so most likely you will see her around the horses/stable. Maria and Emilie will be wandering about the Manor. ~LadyB

Maybe give it a week or so for any of them, just because I personally need to catch up a little bit XD I was a museless insomniac for a week, so I got kind of behind. I think that Gustave and Gauthier might get along well. He tends to play nice with Eriks XD He is also very fond of toys, and has had a couple "new toy" threads, but all of them died *pats GusGus' head* I'm sure he'd like that if/when they met. Christine Svenna spends quite a lot of time in the village, and will actually be starting up her work again once spring comes (she's a professional mermaid at the aquarium XD). They could meet on her way to work, which could be interesting. How would Gauthier feel about being trampled by a bubbly talkative Christine with a swim bag? XD Nate I've been trying to get more active and better developed, so I'd definitely like a nice thread with him and Gauthier.
