Appearance
Body type: Raoul is tall with a very strait back and broad shoulders. He usually walks in brisk strides and seems slightly stiff except around Christine where he lets himself be a little looser.
Eye color: The Vicomte has fairly dark brown eyes, though not as dark as his hair. When he looks from side to side, his eyes look very exaggerated and look like they are going to one far side or the other, this is also due to his dark colored eyes against the very bright white of his eyes.
Wardrobe: He has blue suits more then any other colored suits, blue being his favorite color. His suits are comfortable and always elegant looking. Even to a Masquerade he will wear a suit. It is hard to catch him in anything else. Also being a military man and a man of nobility, he carries a sword at his hip, to show rank, responsibility, and of course there for if he should ever need it.
General Appearance: Raoul is a very tall orderly man. He is very stable and sure footed. His skin is a sort of peachy color which goes handsomely with his dark brown eyes and his even darker brown- almost black, sleeked back hair. Then of course, there is his

Personality
The Vicomte is a mannered gentleman. Brought up in nobility, he was taught with a firm hand, strict family, and a strong influence. Having gone into the French Navy, he then was constantly under the influence to be strong, stand and sit tall, always be alert, and also learn to get his sea legs. Through all of this, he has been taught to be strong and although he is caring and tender, these experiences have given him a certain edge and taught him to be straight forward and completely honest.
Having a sister and a very soft hearted mother, Raoul was molded to not not always be so tough and have a caring side. He learned to be very protective and gentle. Through the ladies of the household, he was taught to be loving, reassuring, and be able to listen to their problems with a great patience, open mind, and kind-but truthful words. He greatly appreciated is mother and sister, though while he was glad his father and brother taught him to be strong, his sister and mother taught him to be gentle and that its okay to show emotions.
Then last but not least, his shipmates during his time in the Navy taught him a more... fun side of life. They introduced him to being boastful and prideful for before, he was a bit shy to the thoughts of such but he quickly out grew it with his shipmates usually being quite outgoing. They lived life while they could, having a good time until it was time to work and be as straight backed, tin solider like as they were all taught to be. This gave him the ability to be very serious, alert, and strict at one moment, then the next be loose, friendly, and be able to talk freely.
Dreams and Goals:
*To marry Christine Daae!
*Be able to live the rest of his life with Christine Daae.
*And protect Christine Daae from her dark pursuer.

*Good Friend: He learned from the best to be patience and kind, the things that make good friends

*Over determination: Sometimes he just doesn't know when to quit
*Christine Daae

The Past
Mother: Madeleine de Chagny
Father: Edouard de Chagny
Brother: (Comte) Phillipe de Chagny
Sister: Ambrosine de Chagny
(NOTE: Yes! Everyone in his family are still alive!)
(NOTE 2: Ambrosine means Immortal - deep huh?)
History: Raoul was born a healthy baby boy to Madeleine de Chagny of age 30 and Edouard de Chagny of age 36. Ten year old, Phillipe, automatically took great happiness in the birth of his new baby brother. Raoul and his brother were rather spoiled as they grew up, Ambrosine joining in on the spoil treatment when Raoul was six. Raoul was taught and repeatedly told from a very young age that he would be joining the Navy, just like his father. But as much as his father and brother told him what that the military was his future, his mother and his sister when she got to be old enough told him that he choose his fate.
Raoul understood this when he had met a young girl who changed him, Christine Daae. He met her when she had come to France with her father, brought by Professor Valerius and his wife. They quite soon became childhood sweethearts. Phillipe thought it was just a phase, Ambrosine thought it was cute. However, it could not last forever. A few months before Christine was to go to the Paris Conservatory, Raoul had to say his goodbyes to everyone and leave, living up to his father and brother's expectations of joining the Navy. He had always thought of writing to Christine while being in the Navy, but for some odd reason he didn't. Though he did write to his family, then a separate letter for Ambrosine.
In the Navy, he had learned quite a bit from his shipmates. It took him two weeks to find his sea legs and to stop puking, luckily though, one of his shipmates near by were always close with a bucket for him. He was supported greatly by his shipmates which is where he learned a great deal about team work and friends outside of family. They sailed and stopped at Britain for a short time where he got a few books and dictionaries with English before they had to set off again. Not only would it occupy his time but he thought it might be useful to expand his ability to speak and read English. Raoul saw many sights and scenery, Africa, Asia, and so much more. He quite enjoyed being in the Navy. They moved back to France where Raoul got to stay in Paris- at least for a little while. Phillipe took this opportunity to show his brother what he had missed in Paris from the six years- almost seven he was gone for.
This is when his brother took him to the opera house, and there he was entranced once again by his childhood sweetheart. She had grown quite a bit since he had last seen her. Oh and how it felt like decades! Their reunion was sweet and Raoul knew she was the only one who could make him happy, they loved each other and nothing could stand between that! He even told that to his brother the night Philippe told him that Christine had a secret admirer of some sort. After the performance, he went to see her and gave her a kiss (or a few) before she told him that they could not see each other anymore. Stunned and not quite sure what to think, he walked out and closed the door... but did not completely leave. He hesitated by the door and moments later, that was when he had heard a mans voice! Was this that secret admirer that there had been this rumor of? The Vicomte came another night, but this time he went into her room and hid before Christine came in. The man spoke again... but this time, she went through a mirror and Raoul jumped to stop her but it was too late.
It felt like years had passed before he heard of Christine again. He had gotten a letter from her to meet her at the Masquerade Ball. He did as she told him in the letter and went to the masquerade, wearing a black suit, a very dark blue cloak and a black mask with a transparent vale over the bottom half of the face. Christine wore the same mask but with a pink dress. They quickly got out of the way, just in time for a skull masked man, dress in read as 'Read Death' walked down the grand staircase. Quickly Christine pulled Raoul away from the railing as the skull masked man spotted them and began to pursue them. His childhood sweetheart lead him up to the rooftop of the Opera House and stood under the protection of a statue, that had the phantom watching secretly above them on the statue. Christine began to tell Raoul how she saw his face, the phantom, that he was horrible. She begged for the Vicomte to take her away, to protect her. Raoul knew that this had to be done... that the menace that had tormented his Christine must come to the end. Raoul said for her to meet him by the stage door... and that they would flee to England. They embraced and Raoul felt that the nightmare for them would soon be over.
But it was far from that.

Raoul slowly released his grasp on Christine, his arms and hands brushing down her arms and hooking gently onto her hands. He then lead her to the door to go back down, opening the door first so that she could go in through first. Then went him himself.
The moment he was under the door's frame, everything went black, like when you stand up too quickly. He paused, staying still for a moment till he got his vision back. And though his vision slowly crept back from the darkness, he went on full speed ahead and walked right into a wall. Raoul stumbled back, his eyes wide in shock. He then paused, and blinked a bit.
He walked up to the wall then placed his hands on the wall, half expecting his hands to go through. But all that happened was a light smack. Briskly, he put his hands all over the wall as if he were trapped. But he then felt extremely silly and stopped at once, looking around. This did not look at all like the way he had come from before, and he didn't see Christine aroun- Christine! Raoul suddenly spun around several times, looking for Christine. She had just been there!
Raoul then zoomed down the dusty hallway, no idea where he was going. Then after what seemed like an endless maze of hallway after hallway, he came to another hallway filled with doors. He paused, then slowly continued... looking at each door. And what he saw stunned him. All of the name plates were filled with Christines, Carlottas, Philippes, and even Raoul! Now, this may have been a little more normal, had it not been for the fact that they were all the same last names. He then came to a door with the name plate 'Raoul Ace de Chagny' on it. He stood, mouth opened wide. "What in God's name is this?"
