Claude had been practically stumbling around the manor, bored out of his demonic skull! He had lost all of his servants- more like slaves- and one seemed to have escaped somehow… Poor Little Meg. What was she going to do now that she was free of the manor? He snarled softly to himself and heard what sounded like carnival music and saw that it was a small music box adorned to look like a carousal… He grinned. That gave him an idea! He could be a ringmaster in a traveling sideshow. Perhaps that could lure an unsuspecting- and naive- person to do his bidding and even help him with the feeding. He had become rather hungry since Meg had left. He groaned and coughed into his hand; the black bile spattered onto his palm. He sneered and spit the rest onto he floor before walking to a mirror at the far end of the room. He then snapped his fingers and he was instantly in a much more shabby suit and a bowler hat. It was perfect! Claude tightened the tie a little and smirked to himself… No, no, something was missing…. But what? Aha! He snapped once more and in his hand was a baton with a demon head as the topper. But not just the baton; there was something more going on outside. He just had to do something else first. He stalked through the dormitories until he found the one he had been looking for: Madeleine Fontaine. Yes, the one he had met before in the Opera House! She would do perfectly. He grinned to himself and faded through her door before going completely invisible to whisper into her ear. " Come… Come outside and see. Come see the show." Something wicked was afoot, something not right. And Claude was it's host!

At the present moment, Madeleine was holed up in her room, at her dressing mirror. She was dressed only in a robe and chemise, her hair wrapped into a bun on her head. She was very focused on applying lipstick to her lips, treating it as though it were the most important and delicate task in the world as she guided the little red tube about her plump lips. Finishing with this, she placed the lipstick down on the counter, and fished around in a drawer, looking for an eye pencil. As she did so, her eyebrows furrowed and she shot her head up, looking in the mirror, confused. She could have sworn that she had heard a voice, calling her...
She put down the eye pencil that she had found and stood from her chair, looking very suspicious. Her hand slid away from the counter as she stepped towards the middle of the room, looking around, "...Who's there...?"

Come and see the spectacle. Something is happening just outside the manor doors. Come see, pretty lady, come see!
The voices called to her as Claude waited patiently outside for Madeleine to arrive. He began a little jaunty hop and skip to supplement the boredom that crept upon him. He knew it would be quite a wait so he stopped his little dance and snapped his fingers. In an instant, he appeared around a corner and flicked his wrist. There came a knock at the lady's door and it opened slightly. "This way," He whispered, his voice carried across the hallway as it drifted to her room and danced upon her ears. "This way and come outside. We have something wonderful to show you."
The sound of carnival music began to drift through the corridor and down the stairs as if calling for her to follow it. There was a somewhat eerie tone to it but the sound of the laughter and gaiety made up for the dark somber.
