It was a snowy winter's day, the sun gleaming off of the white of the frozen padding along the ground, twinkling in a silvery and crystalline delight. Christine Svenna twirled about the path in the garden, her tongue sticking out as she tried to catch a snowflake on it. She loved the winter and the snow that came along with it. She had always found it to be a great deal of fun to play in whenever there was enough of it on the ground and the weather was good otherwise.
There were so many games that you could play with snow! You could build a fort, or have a snowball fight, or make angels... Svenna wasn't sure where to start! She didn't see anyone out there to join her in her little childish escapades, but perhaps someone would come along later who could help. In the mean time, hmmm.... What to do? What to do?...
She sat down on an icy stone bench to ponder this question. There were so many options... A snowball right was no fun without someone there to have the snowball fight with, snow angels didn't last very long.... And then it came to her. “A snowman!” she exclaimed aloud, though no one was around to hear her at the moment.
With her mittened hands, she set to work beginning to roll and clump some of the snow together for the base of her snow man. It was going to be a very big snowman, and so it certainly needed a very big base to start out with.

Aimeric was dressed in his usual white poet shirt and black dress pants that reached his waist line, but now that the weather had reached a colder climate, he had a jacket, gloves, scarf, and hat on as he walked about the streets, his book in hand. He blew snowflakes from the pages as he walked and read, flipping the page every couple of minutes. He looked over and saw the gardens, now covered in snow. He looked over at the benches, not seeing Christine as he walked towards one. He wiped the snow from it, and sat, sighing contently.
As always, he found peace in reading. Especially in this weather. He always preferred the colder weather. Why, he hadn't a clue. He just knew it suited his taste. His cheeks were rosy from the cold, and snowflakes scattered across his complexion. He let out a content sigh, reading his book without a care in the world. He was a quiet fellow, he didn't have much of anything to say to anything. He didn't realize what he could offer the world.
If only he spoke to people more often, he would have friends. But he kept to himself, secluded from everybody whenever he could be. He thought he was at that moment right then, but little did he know that a young woman was a mere few yards away from him. He was too lost in his book to see around him. Realistically it wasn't a good thing, but he was too at ease to have a care in the world for what was going on around him.
And lucky him, there were no children around screaming as they had fun in the winter snow. If anything bothered Aimeric the most, it would be noise. He couldn't concentrate on the things he loved to do when people were around, bothering his peace. That's why he was always so reluctant to go out recently, because he thought it would be much more peaceful to stay in his home and do absolutely nothing but read and play piano. He could sing as well, but he chose not to use that talent. He actually thought his singing voice was repulsive. He thought himself to be repulsive over all. That's why he thought he didn't have friends. He figured that he would always be alone, and he never tried to change it. Sitting there in the cold and reading his book was enough for him.

Christine Svenna had just finished building the base of her snowman, when she caught sight of someone else entering the garden area. It was a young man whom she'd never seen before at the manor. He was dressed fairly simply and seemed to be rapt up in some book that he was reading. She didn't know who he was, but maybe he could help her with her snowman.
Quietly, she got up from her snowman and crept up to him in order to investigate. She peered over his shoulder. There didn't appear to be any pictures in the book, or at least not on the page she saw at the moment. She tilted her head a little and gave an odd look. She wasn't much of the reading type, despite the fact that she liked stories. She much preferred to listen to stories, or to be able to see them drawn or acted out. She felt it was much more interesting that way.
“Hi there!” she said finally, placing a gloved hand on the young man's shoulder. “What 'ya doin'?”

As the young lady said hello, he jumped, gasping slightly. He awkwardly handled his book as she spoke, closing it with two shaky hands, from the cold. He looked up at her, speaking shyly. "H-Hello.." Her enthusiasm had scared him, especially since he hadn't previously seen her there. "Oh, uhm.. Just reading.." He fiddled with his book a bit, nervous. But it had seemed lately that he was just having good luck. People actually wanted to speak to him for once. She was what? The third person that week? He was secretly excited, but he wasn't going to just inform her that he was a loner and he was so excited to be speaking to another human being.
He looked over at the snowman she had been building curiously, not quite sure what it was. "W-What's that..?" He spoke somewhat quietly, still nervous as he pointed to the snowman. Even though this seemed to be his socializing week, he couldn't shake his shy feeling that he always felt, no matter who has was speaking to. It frankly didn't matter, he was just a shy person.
But what was that thing she was making? He hadn't really played in the snow since he was nine, so he couldn't really put the pieces together. Whatever it was though, it looked fun, not that he hardly even knew what fun meant.
[ Oh and by the way, I just thought I'd let you know that I kind of changed him slightly. xD Not a lot, I just took away his quick temper. He doesn't have >that< bad of a temper now, but when he gets angry, he really gets angry. xD ]

((Oh yay! XD Because that would have probably pissed off old Aimeric lol. Speaking of tempers, you still owe me a post in the thread with him and Blondie Go to the Opera)) Christine Svenna chuckled, hiding her moth with her little mitten covered hands, when she startled the young man enough to make him jump and probably nearly drop his book. He seemed all nervous and stuff, which she found oddly amusing. She couldn't imagine why though. It wasn't often that she got nervous. Sure she had been nervous when Meg had volunteered her to sing as Carlotta's understudy in front of the new managers without any sort of prior warning, but that was different! He pointed to the big white base she had created and asked her what it was. “ Oh, that? That's nothing. Just a snowman I started making, but it will probably take a while without anyone to... Hey!” An idea popped into her mind. “ Would you like to help me build it? It's not extremely difficult... Come on! It will be fun!” And with this, she laughed and grabbed his arm, pulling him up and practically dragging him over to where she had been building. “ My name's Christine, by the way. Christine Svenna Daaé. And you are?” She let go of him and placed her hands on her hips in a sort of playful stance, waiting for him to answer. This young man looked like he certainly could use a little bit of loosening up. After all, he had seemed quite startled when she'd first spoken to him. He needed to loosen up a bit.

[ xD Oh, right. Sorry, I'll post there soon. ]
"Snowman..?" He looked confused. He got up and went with her, surprised. He looked at the lone base curiously, wondering what to do, or how to do it. She looked like one of those people who enjoyed life.. Enthusiastic. Sometimes he wished he could be like that. People like her weren't afraid of speaking to other people, unlike himself. He was extremely shy, and even when he tried not to show it, he failed.
"U-Uhm.. Aimeric Jayden Devereux.." He said, pocketing his hands and looking down. He didn't mean to be rude, he just didn't really know how to speak to people. "So... What do we do with this thing..?" He asked. "How do you make such a big ball like that?" He examined it curiously. "I've just never made what you call a er.. 'Snowman'.." He frowned slightly, not sure if he was interested or not. If anything, he was just plain confused. He and Toby never made a snowman before. They just jumped in it and threw snowballs around. Toby was a blast too, but he was never as excited as this girl seemed.
But if anybody could persuade him to do this, it was her. She was more enthusiastic than anyone he had ever met in his life. She looked like she was around his age, pretty young. She looked as if she still had that small child innocence, which he didn't mind at all.

((XD It's okay. I just wasn't sure if you remembered where the thread was. BTW I haven't built a snowman since I was 3, since I kind of live in Florida, so bear with me XD *totally didn't eHow how to build a snowman* pfft! What are you talking about!? I would never... XDD))
Christine Svenna grinned at him when he told her his name. “Aimeric.... well that's a nice name. Never heard it before. What does it mean?”
She knelt down and began to further shape the base of the snowman. She had kind of been pretty lazy about not fully rolling it, but she did pack the snow pretty tight, so hopefully it would be enough for the base to hold together. “This thing,” she said, continuing on in her work, “is the bottom of the snowman. We have to set the other parts on top still though...”
She stepped back a moment and looked at the base again, admiring her work. She did very much enjoy playing in the snow, and it showed in her almost child-like glee. And then, she turned back toward him with an expression that was a mixture between shock and confusion. “What do you mean you've never made a snowman? You've never made a snowman...?”
Svenna was quite surprised by this. She had assumed everyone played in the snow like this when they were a little kid, at least, but then she remembered when she first met Raoul, there were games that he'd never heard of either... like tag, which she found to be very strange, but she supposed was remotely possible...
she shook her head a little, trying to snap out of her little moment of shock and then waved her hand as if to dismiss his lack of knowledge about snowmen. “That's all right. It's easy! Come on! I'll teach you.” she gestured for him to come over to the base, and then picked up some snow from the ground and started packing it into a snowball in her hands.

[ xD I live in New York, so I've made my fair share of snowmans. ]
He watched her build the snowman, interested. He set down his book on the snowy bench, and stood, walking over. "I-I uhh.. No.." He blushed, shrugging. He didn't really think it was that big of a deal. Before he ran away, he was always too busy to play in the snow as a child. His family ran several businesses, and they had little to no time to spare for their son. Aimeric made sure his gloves were nice and snug before he leaned down, attempting to make a ball of snow.
As he attempted to make that snowball, it crumbled in his hands. "Uhm... How do I make a ball of snow..?" He asked as he attempted to make a snowball, failing once again. "It's really hard.." He idly stuck his tongue out slightly as he concentrated on the snow in his hands, still trying to make a ball of now. Soon enough, all of the snow either melted or fell out of his hands.
He looked up at her, then watched as she packed the snow in her hands. "You make it look so easy..." He felt very stupid at that moment. He couldn't even make a simple snowball properly. Perhaps it would be best if he stuck around and actually let her teach him.. Because he knew he was probably one of the only human beings on earth who didn't know how to pack some snow into a sphere. She really looked like she knew what she was doing though, that was for sure.

((Well this should be interesting XD we’re switching roles! Lol))
Christine was a bit in shock when Aimeric told her that he’d never built a snowman before. She couldn’t imagine anyone going through their entire childhood without making one, especially not if they’d grown up in a place with winters like this! No, no, this simply wouldn’t do!
She giggled a little when he tried to make a snowball and it ended up crumpling in his hands. “Here. Try it this way—” She picked up a little bit of snow and then, handling it as little as possible, packed it tight until it formed a ball. “Ta-da!” she said, holding it out to show him. “Now you try. Once you can make a snowball, the rest of the snowman is pretty easy.”

[ Just pretend he's been writing everything and not saying it. xD ]
He smiled shyly, and did as she did, picking up some snow and packing it. It wasn't the most perfect snowball, but it was the general idea. He showed her, a look on his face that showed he hoped it was right. He was actually quite interested at this point to make a snowman, one could say he was even a little excited.
He'd never had this much fun with someone else before, or at least what he considered fun. And if he was going to have fun with anyone, it would most likely be her. She seemed quite nice, and she wasn't questioning his silence thus far, which he greatly appreciated.
