Erik looked down. Someone had bumped into him. Then he heard her exclaim his stage name! Looking her up and down it took a second for it to click. "Meg? What in blazes are you doing here?"
What WAS she doing here? And dressed like that? "What on earth are you wearing?" He quirked his visible eyebrow, putting his hands in his pockets. What a strange turn of events...Christine was here, her damned husband was here, and now Meg Giry was here too? Who was next? Madame Giry? Fleck, Squelch and Gangle?
He took another look at Meg. She looked just as surprised as he at the strange spectacle. Whatever the case, at least there were familiar faces in this hell-hole of a Manor.

Philippe was aghast when Svenna tackled him very nearly to the floor. Had he really made that good of impression on her? He couldn't imagine why. "Well that's very kind of you, mademoiselle, but there's no need to get me anything..." He rubbed his arm in a bit of nervousness, with all the people around them watching them. "But my brother didn't mention I was here? I'm surprised..." he said with sarcasm lacing his tone just enough so that she might not notice it. He was in fact not surprised, as his brother knew his feelings toward the girl.
He'd noticed the elderly gentleman go around the room with refreshments, and had the vaguest feeling he knew him from somewhere, but he couldn't place what until Christine said his name. His eyes brightened in remembrance, and he went to shake the man's hand. "Alfred! Alfred it's so good to see you! When did you get here? How have you been?" Though normally improper for a servant and master to be this well acquainted, Philippe thought of Alfred as another member of the family. He couldn't have raised Raoul without him. His smile was wide in fondness.
Suddenly Philippe heard the distinct sound of the unwrapping of presents, and turned to the place where he'd seen the familiar couple by the sofa. It would seem their son was opening a present, so he turned his attention to watch, as it was courtesy to do. He wondered who received his present, and looked around to see if he could figure out who the person was...
Then, he set his sights on the man on the sofa, the one who looked like the boy's father... He looked so strangely like someone he knew, even more so than the woman... Though the woman in fact looked quite a lot like Svenna, actually, now that he thought about it... And the man... Well, he looked like his father, to be honest! But that was impossible, utterly ridiculous!
Philippe stuck his hands in his pockets and muttered, "If you'll excuse me," to Svenna and Alfred, and decided to sit in the armchair across from the couple to watch the boy. A violin was a nice present, a rather expensive one at that! Then again, his own gift was quite a pricey one, but it wasn't like he couldn't afford it. He smiled down at the child, remembering how Raoul used to look when he was younger. The boy didn't look too much like him, but he had a sparkle in his eye that was similar in all young children of his age.
He wanted to strike up conversation with this man who looked like his father, but he didn't know how... He tried to catch his eye again, at least. Perhaps they were distantly related, one of the de Chagny's cousins from America... The Comte wouldn't be surprised, especially since even Alfred was here!

It wasn't exactly the reaction she was hoping to get out of him, but then it never was. He was always incredibly unpredictable, and that was what Meg loved about him. "I-I'm here for the Christmas party, of course!" She shrugged, her smile wide though his tone was still of confusion. "I don't know why I'm in this place instead of Coney, but then again none of us do. So I just go along... hehe!"
She clicked her heels in nervousness when he asked what she was wearing. Yes, it didn't seem all that proper to him, but then again her costumes never were of the modest nature. "Oh, this old thing? Just found it in my closet, really. In this century pants on women are stylish! I think it's cute!" She put her hands on her hips in an equally cute pose.
Meg continued to smile, finally being near the real Mister Y... no, Erik, again. "It's good to see you! Next to Raoul, Christine, and Gustave you're only other familiar face I know." She looked behind her to see the little brat opening his presents. "Cute kid, huh?" She was testing him. Like Christine, he might not have been taken away from their time at the same moment she had, so he might not know the boy was his son... If not, things could be working to her advantage.
The woman turned back to to him and took his hands. "Merry Christmas, Mister Y. If only mother were here, too! But I'm glad we're together now." He was always so alone... Clearly he wasn't fraternizing with Christine at the moment, as he was as far away from her as possible, just like her. She wished only to give him some form of comfort.

William was quiet and grew shyer when nobody heard him; of course, there were plenty of people in here, surely he was too quiet. Instead he shrunk back in his seat, just content to watch everyone happy and speaking to one another. A woman with a very modern - in the characters’ terms - wheelchair came up to Christine, and she introduced him. He smiled when she introduced him as a friend of Christine’s.
”It’s certainly a pleasure to meet you, madam,” he stood to kneel gently, kissing the older woman on the hand politely. He might be a fan of modernism, but surely he would never forego manners.
He sat back after greeting her, and felt a little overwhelmed as essentially the entire manor filled into the accommodating enough, but not monster sized room. He realized then, that Gustave had heard him indeed, and the boy was now beaming at his beautiful new violin. Just what he wanted... being invisible had its perks, he thought. The spies came out of the water, and all that.
He wondered if he should talk to Gustave. He didn’t seem to know exactly what was happening, so Will took a gander and stood, walking over to the child under the tree. He knelt, and said with a smile, ”Why, that is a beauty now, isn’t it?” He didn’t bother introducing himself. It wasn’t very important, especially not to a child. Not wanting to embarrass the kid, he leaned forward and said in a discreet manner that children loved to be privy to, ”You’re supposed to guess who it’s from.”

Gustave was so excited about his present that he didn't even notice more people, including Mister Y and Miss Giry, entering the room. Carefully, he picked up his violin and set the body of the beautifully carved instrument on his little lap, still in awe that someone had gotten him exactly what he'd wanted.
A man, the same man who had said that they should begin the gifting event, came and knelt down beside him, and the boy turned to look at him as he did so.
Why, that is a beauty now, isn't it?
“Yes, sir,” the boy said with a shy little nod. And then the man leaned in a little closer, as if to tell Gustave a secret. Gustave liked secrets. He leaned in too, so as to hear the man a bit better.
You're supposed to guess who it's from.
“Oh!” The boy exclaimed, before covering his mouth and correcting himself to a whisper. It was a secret, after all... “Oh...”
The boy looked around the room at all of the people, most of whom he'd never seen before him his life. He did not see Princess Meg there, which made him a little sad, but maybe she would come later... “Hmmm.... Is it from mother?” he asked, looking across the room at her and wondering if she could hear him. She was talking with one of her grown-up friends, and he wasn't so sure she could...
His little hands fumbled along the floor as he felt along the floor, sifting through the layers of tissue paper as he looked for his candy cane. He found it, broken in two, laying on the ground, and picked it up.
“Like that?” he asked the man who was kneeling beside him, wondering if he had made his guess correctly.

“Hmmm.... Is it from mother?” He guessed, scrambling to find the broken bits of his candy cane. Will wasn't a fan of the things but they were certainly pretty. “Like that?”
"Exactly like that, Gustave," Will nodded proudly, "But your answer is wrong. Here, I'll give you a hint," he said, leaning in once more, "He's got a charming black cap, and his face isn't quite right - though it's very pretty indeed," he added, "And he's a bit shy." He didn't think that was too many hints for the young boy, especially seeing as he was fairly sure the two had never met. Of course, he would hardly be giving hints to the adults, and they would gather the attention of the others' so that their givers could make their own hints. But the adults were conversing, not very interested in the little boy right now, so it was up to Will to give him the attention and the push he needed to discover whom he'd received a gift from!

Smiling in response to the brief conversation and praise from the young golden hair Christine. "It was truly an honor, Christine," rather odd to call another woman the same name as her own. Then nodding, "Yes, all is well. Thank you." Unable to go any further when there was an announcement and turned to see Gustave already going at it with his gift. "Excuse me," dismissing herself from the golden hair Christine and moved over to Gustave, smiling over at Edouard first then back to Gustave and her face lit up when the gift was revealed to be a violin! A beautiful violin! It brought tears to her eyes, covering her mouth and looked like she was remembering something from her past. "Oh, Gustave," almost breathless, so happy for her darling son. "It's beautiful!" Standing there a moment as she glanced at Edouard, seeing a man knelt beside and talking to Gustave. She then moved to kneel at his side, holding his shoulders and arms, so proud that her little miracle was continuing a family tradition. Not even thinking of who gave the gift to her little boy.
Looking at the man who approached Gustave and spoke, all with a smile. He had to guess now, grinning at the man. But when Gustave made a guess, she snickered, "No. It wasn't me." Almost sad that she had not gotten it for him but her voice was still warm. Now she was a bit curious to know who had been the gracious person to have given her son such a wonderful gift!

So glad to see Christine and greeted her but was also introduced to a young man. Rather taken aback when he knelt to her level and greeted her with kiss upon her hand. This caused the elderly woman to giggle. "My goodness, you are a charmer!" Mamma giggled again and watched him leave then turned her attention back to Christine.
A moment later she noticed a little boy who was opening his gift that turned out to be a violin." Oh, isn't that nice," as she smiled and sat there rather blankly.

Standing there beside Billie and Lenoir, started to slowly glance about the room to see how many of those she knew were here. Smiling when she spotted Lu, then noticed Philippe which brought about a grin to her lips. She noticed Carriere had entered and standing off to the side, then saw Erik Lavalais enter the room and nearly caught her breath. Her eyes followed him from time to time as he stood by a tall golden hair woman.
Watching Lenoir and noticed he was rather disturbed. "You alright?" as she lightly touched his arm in hopes to comfort him. She didn't want to leave to socialize with those in the room if he was rather unsettled. Diverting her attention a moment to see a cute boy opening a gift that turned out to be a lovely violin and she smiled. What a cute scene. After a moment, she turned her attention back to Lenoir.

Edouard knew Alfred from the time he had spent with him as a child. Or he thought it was the same man. Somehow he thought he would have been older now. That was a bit confusing. Still, he was glad to see him. "Hello, Alfred, old friend, it's good to see you. And yes, I'll have some punch and hors d'oeuvres, merci beaucoup." Then he noticed a man who reminded him of his older, deceased brother. Could it be? Could Phillippe have come here before his demise? He realized he was staring a bit and the man was looking at him. He stood up and turned to Emilie. "I want to talk to someone, dear."
Edouard walked over to the man after putting his food and drink on a table next to the couch. "Monsieur, do I know you? I am the Vicomte Raoul de Chagny, and you? It would seem that I know you...Are we perhaps related?"
His attention then was pulled to Gustave opening his package. It was a lovely violin. Who might have given him such an expensive gift? But the boy would undoubtedly put it to good use.

Erik was paler than his usual colour. And it wasn't that there were so many people in the room ... completely. There was that too. But Ana was standing next to him and Teressa was in the room. Adina was about too. And both Emilie and Svenna. But the one he was worried about was Teressa. If she saw Ana near him, who knows what she would think? It might already be too late for a reconciliation, but if Teressa even saw him talking to Ana... "Ana, it's Teresssa. The lady with Erik Lavalais. Tall and blonde." He nodded in her direction. "I'm not feeling well." Physically, he felt fine, but emotionally, he was feeling more and more of a wreck. He sank into a nearby chair. If Teresssa didn't notice him now, surely she would when he opened his gift. Oh, this could turn embarrassing.. Standing there beside Billie and Lenoir, started to slowly glance about the room to see how many of those she knew were here. Smiling when she spotted Lu, then noticed Philippe which brought about a grin to her lips. “It's not?” the boy asked a little disappointed when both the man and his mother told him that the violin wasn't a present from her. If it wasn't from his mother, then who could it possibly be from? He wondered, and looked around the room. The man gave him a hint.
He's got a charming black cap and his face isn't quite right – though it's very pretty indeed. And he's a bit shy.
Now the little boy was absolutely stumped. He didn't know who it could possibly be. He looked around the room to see if anyone there was wearing a hat. A black hat. Hmmm...
He did see a man in a black cap, who seemed to be trying to stay alone, off to the side. Maybe that was because he was shy? Gustave didn't know the man's name though, and he couldn't help but to wonder why someone he'd never met would give him a present... But then again, he didn't know the person he'd gotten a present for, either...
He'd gotten a present for...
Now he couldn't help but to feel conscientious about it. He knew his gift could never be as good as one like this... “Is it him?” he asked, timidly pointing to the man who he did not know was none other than Erik Castagne.

Philippe stood when the man walked over to him. Just as he thought, he did know him! But it couldn't possibly be his father, risen from the dead... There was something different about him, though... In fact up close he started to remind him of...
He blinked four times. "What? R-Raoul de Chagny?" Philippe almost backed into the chair he'd been sitting in. "But-- But I'm... Philippe... Philippe de Chagny."
He looked the man up and down, standing closer. "You can't be my brother, my brother is younger, only twenty-one years old!" Philippe didn't know what else to say, only that there must have been some sort of mistake... An impostor? But those eyes... they were his mothers.

Teressa furrowed her brow. A man had walked up to her, wishing her a Merry Christmas and using her name...Funny though...she'd never met him...She smiled, nonetheless. "Merry Christmas to you too, monsieur. Er...I know this might be considered a little awkward, but...have we met?" She felt like an idiot, asking that question. Of course they'd met, but where? How else would he know her name? It was strange being addressed out in the open like that by someone she couldn't quite remember... He looked nice, though. He raised a little toast to her, which made her cock her head a little...how strange, indeed... Slowly he had been wandering about the room, taking in the scene of people entering and socializing. No longer was it a quiet room but bustling with holiday cheer. Moving to the refreshments cart, picking up something to drink, and noticed Teressa. He smiled curious to see what the alabaster beauty thought of him now. With drink in hand, he walked up casually to Teressa. "Merry Christmas to you, Teressa," in a mock toast with his drink and smiled at her. Wondering if ever she will recognize him with his new look.

Maria had been meandering about, pondering about saying hello to Lenoir. But her attention was drawn towards another man who looked somewhat like Lenoir and so.. she made her way rather non-chalantly over to Mr Y.
"Good evening and Merry Christmas, Mr Y," Maria smiled up at the Phantom Gentleman. Then nodded to the blonde with him. She'd not met that woman- Oh, wait! Yes she had! "Meg Giry isn't it? I believe I met you at the Wedding Shower for Christine Daaé"
