Her eyes met his the moment he took that small step closer and she, though wanting to move back, was stuck like that first night in the manor. Her feet seemed to be glued to the ground and she couldn't move. He was going to snap her. He was going to kidnap her. He didn't wish to help. He just wished to hurt her. Lydia could not help thinking these things as her hazel eyes caught him in her sights. This man who called himself Aimeric seemed to be very kind but no one could be trusted. Especially a man in an unknown village.
She shook her head frantically. In a way, she did wish to go back and get the other's, but what if this were a trap? They would be caught in the midst of it all and it would have been her fault. "Please don't take me back up there..." She mumbled. "I-it's not safe..." Safe? This was not safe. Lydia looked back at the manor for a moment and frowned. When she could walk there on her own she would let the other's know. But first, she had to know more of this village.
Though she figured the other's would hate her for seeing the village and not letting them know sooner, she was doing it for their safety. There was no point in bringing them to this place if they would all be brought into more danger. But, she needed to get to them soon. They were running out of food. 'Lydia, what have you gotten yourself into?' She thought in silence.

He felt as though he was a threat, like he was out to kidnap her. He knew she was thinking about it, he just knew. "I'm not going to harm you..." He mumbled, with his head down. He hated seeming like someone he wasn't, it just made him upset with himself. He wasn't going to be able to satisfy any woman in any way, shape, or form. He just knew it wasn't going to happen. 'I'm not charming, I'm not handsome, I'm nothing.' He thought. It was one of those moments he was having where the tiny things upset him. Sometimes he would get upset like this because of his mother. If it weren't for his mother, these little things wouldn't have bothered him.
"If you don't feel safe there, you could always go to my house for a while..." As soon as he said it, he facepalmed. "I sound like a creep.." He mumbled in frustration. Nothing was going well for him right now, was it? "I don't want to drive you away..You're the first person I've met that I've had a conversation this long in months...I don't want it to stop here..." He admitted. When he got into a conversation, he didn't want to stop. He had to take up the oppurtunity, and make it last. When he had a conversation this long, especially when meeting someone, it was like eating a really good piece of candy that anyone would want to savor for as long as possible.

'You won't?' She thought to herself as she watched the way he kept his head down. Lydia was over thinking again, wasn't she? Of course, she couldn't stop herself. Over thinking was also one of her flaws. But she could tell she had hurt the man before her. He seemed genuinely nice. Why would she stop herself? It's not like she could have run off with a sprained ankle. She could use all the help she could get.
The word creep sounded odd in her ears as he spoke, though she was just taken by surprise with the way he had offered for her to head over to his home. "No, no. It's alright..." She responded with a slight stammer before he continued on with the conversation. He wanted to keep talking to her? She found that rather odd. No one wanted to talk to her, or rather it was hard for her to stay away from her usual solitude. "I-if you insist..."

He was relieved that she wasn't running off by now, he felt like that was what she wanted to do. Aimeric still felt like he was freaking her out, but he tried to let it go. He had this feeling that he had to help her, like he couldn't leave. He didn't want her to leave, and he found it strange that he felt like this. He knew that he wanted the conversation to last because of how rare this was for him, but he thought there was something else, but he just couldn't quite put his finger on it.
He mustered up a slight smile when she said that, but didn't want to sound too inviting. "Are...Are you sure? I don't want you to come with me if your not comfortable with it.." He said to her, secretly hoping she was alright with the idea of it. He was almost planning out what to do when they got there, he didn't want to mess anything up. Again, he would never know why, but he just thought that if he made a mistake, he would drive her away, and he didn't want that to happen.

Again she scanned the village around her. The passersby's were much of an oddity to her and she was less comfortable wandering around such a place by herself. After all, multiple people being around in a place which she was not familiar was less safe than taking up the man named Aimeric's offer. At least for now, his offer was the safest she could expect. As such Lydia decided to stop questioning everything. She could not get up the hill without his help either way and the manor was still filled with mystery. Either way her decisions would be filled with confusion and distrust.
Sighing softly, she nodded. "There is nowhere else I can go. Y-you seem nice enough..." She knew nothing of what to expect but she did know that there was a way she could find out. That way she could warn the other's and give them a thorough report. If this place was safe perhaps she and the other's could find a way back. There had to be a way and somehow she would find the way even if it meant trusting in a complete stranger.

He didn't know much about her, but he needed to help her. She had just rolled down a hill, and hurt her ankle. So it felt good to help her. It always felt good for him to help people in any way he could. So, over all, he could say today wasn't going too bad so far. He met someone, had an actual coversation, and now he was bringing this person to his house. Now, all he had to do was get to know her better.
"..Do you need help walking..?" He asked her. It was a bit of a walk after all, so he didn't want her walking around on her ankle if she didn't have to. It looked as if she had hurt it pretty bad, from the way she rolled down the hill, and now how she was practically limping on it. He asked her before he went to help her though. One mistake, and everything could go downhill.

She understood that he wanted to help, or so it seemed and was willing to let him help if he truly meant to. But at the same time she still wondered if that was a trap. Lydia kept her thoughts in the back of her mind to keep from backing down. She could feel her heart in her throat beating in a sickening way. Her stomach was churning and her ankle throbbing. For some time now she had been blocking the pain in her ankle but now it was becoming unavoidable. Her face paled slightly as she tried to walk. Of course she was limping slightly.
"Help?" She repeated before continuing to try to walk. "N-No...I-" Then it cracked and she cried out in pain. Stupid Lydia! How could she have been so careless as to try walking on an ankle she had injured the day before and made worse just then by rolling down a hill? It was her stubborn self that caused this to happen and now look at where she was. Lydia fell to the ground, her ankle throbbing more than before. What was she to do now?

He noticed the way she was walking and noticed that she definitely needed help. He walked along side her slowly, waiting for an answer. He felt terrible, but he didn't want to try and help her if she didn't approve of it. He hesitantely reached an arm out as he noticed her struggle, and felt terrible.
He panicked as soon as she fell, and knelt down beside her. That crack was pretty audible, and it sounded like it hurt. He was more worried than he would have been for anyone else, and he didn't know why. He shrugged the feeling off, and frowned. "Lydia...Lydia, are you okay?" He asked, worried for her. "We need to get you to my house quick so I can help you with that...Do you mind if I carry you..?" He hesitantly asked, nervous about what he had just asked. Perhaps she was going to be uncomfortable with the idea...That wouldn't pan out so well then.

She knew now that there was absolutely no way she'd be able to go through with walking without help now. Her eyes blurred with tears as her ankle swelled and throbbed. How could she have been so stupid? Without a good ankle she would never be able to dance again. She prayed to a God which she did not believe in to give her the strength so that she might get passed this. She prayed for her ankle to assure her that it wasn't broken. Dancing was her life. Though she had wished she could be a soprano at the opera, Madame Giry would not allow it. All of that life style was for "rare beauties" like Christine. She was more of an exotic treasure to make girls like Christine look much more innocent and beautiful. That was one of the reason she did not trust people, especially men. After all, if she was nothing but an exotic treasure...there was nothing men would want from her other than what they wanted at the circus...
Her rough hand grabbed at her ankle, as she looked down at the ground in tears. The injury hurt, that much she could not deny but she did not wish to believe it was broken. She looked up at Aimeric, her eyes still blurred with the sting of tears yet her undeniably bright hazel eyes were now soft and pained. "..Please?" She practically begged softly. "I-I don't think I can walk. I do not wish to make my life more of a waste by making this pain worse." She added. Lydia saw the way he had tried to help her before she fell. But why had she been so stubborn to accept his help? Why could she not try to seem a little more civilized and understanding? It just wasn't in her nature.
Then as she fell, the panic was written all over his face. Did he truly care if she was alright? Who would care for a strange little ballet rat such as herself? Who would care if she was left in the street to die in the cold? Sometimes she wished no one would, but deep down she knew there was one person. A lonely man looking for company or a rich woman who did not wish to see Lydia's dead body sprawled all over the street. She knew those were terrible reasons to live, but she did not wish to die. She only wished no one would care.

He took notice of her pain, knowing she had sprained her ankle, at the very very least. He noticed her tears, and gently wiped them away with his thumb. He had a look on his face that said he genuinely cared, because he did. He really, really did. He picked her up with ease, 'bridal style', careful to make sure he didn't hurt her ankle as he did so. He began to walk at a reasonable pace, heading for his house.
"Am I hurting you at all?" He asked in a worried sort of tone as he continued to carry her towards his home. He couldn't believe that he cared this much for someone he barely knew. It seemed strange, but he couldn't help it. Something made him want to do this for her, something. He wished to get to know her better, so perhaps this wouldn't be their only conversation. He didn't see girls like this often, though. She was different, in a good way of course. Something about her just struck him as different. It was the way she acted towards him. It wasn't a bad thing, he just had never encountered someone that was anything like her before. It was nice to see.

Lydia tensed slightly the moment she felt Aimeric's thumb wipe her tears away. Though everything that had happened here was very odd for her she tried to keep calm. Someone was trying to help her. The idea that someone wanted to help her lightened her distress. When he picked her up in a way it felt natural, reassuring and safe but to her for a quick moment everything felt uncomfortable. She tried to hide that and instead focused on the pain and on the direction they were heading.
The worry in his voice made her look at him curiously. "No, no. I-I'm alright." She muttered in a slight stammer. Her entire body was shaking more in fear than from cold. She didn't understand how a complete stranger would genuinely try to help her. let alone cared to see that she was safe. The misunderstanding of this whole situation frightened her in a way that she was not used to.

He thought about what he was going to do when they got to the house. He couldn't just stand there with her in his arms, and not know what to do. He was thinking of everything he needed, checking inside his mind to make sure he had everything necessary. 'Oh, perhaps I could cook something as well' He thought, getting rather hungry.
He noticed the stammer in her voice, and thought it was perhaps because she was just cold. But then he noticed the way she was shaking, and it didn't seem like it was because she was cold. "Lydia..A-Are you okay..? Am I frightening you?" He asked her, gulping. He didn't want her to be scared of him. He didn't know what to do to make her comfortable around him. His mind went frantic, but he tried to keep it together so she didn't see him bugging out.

For a quick moment she looked back at the hill, thinking of the other's she had met. How would she get to them? How would she let them know the village really did exist? Could she ask this stranger to let them know for her? Question after question, she knew there was something she had to do but didn't know what. If she could trust this man perhaps a favor wouldn't be so bad to ask. It was one small deed that she would be grateful of, for sure, but right now she had question's for Aimeric.
"No...I'm fine." She answered more confidently now, looking over at him with a small smile. He was gentle at this moment and when he first saw her. Deep inside she felt the need to trust him. If she couldn't trust him then she had no right to ask questions or favors. Instead, she swallowed the lump in the back of her throat and gave a more reassuring smile. "Gracias por ayudarme." She thanked him for helping her.

He sighed in relief. "That's good." He got to the house, and approached the door, opening it and stepping inside. He set her down as gentle as possible on the couch, and smiled lightly. "I'll be right back, I'm just going to grab some bandage wrap." He said, and went down the hall to grab some. Meanwhile, his small, black kitten Mosh jumped onto Lydia's belly, and sat, purring.
Aimeric came back with the bandage wrap, and noticed Mosh. "Oh, jeez, I-I'm sorry.." He gently picked up Mosh. He understood that cat more than a father understood his son. Mosh meowed at him, and he knew exactly what it meant when he meowed in that tone. "No, you can't have any food. You just ate no more than 30 minutes ago." Mosh licked Aimeric's cheek repeatedly. "Fine, fine. I'll get you some food in a minute, just be patient." He kissed Mosh's nose, and set him down. "Sorry about that..." He laughed slightly. "Do you think your ankle hurts too much to put this bandage wrap on right now?" He asked kindly.

The moment they reached his house she couldn't help but look around, everything...everything was different. This wasn't the normal 19th century style home she was used to. Everything was different. His home was different. The couch she rested on was different. "Alright." She said softly before nodding. "Oh." She smiled lightly at the furball that sat on her. Scratching his chin, she couldn't help but laugh a little. "Hello there." She had a little cat like this as a child. Before being sold to the circus she remembered that the cat followed her everywhere. It was her only friend. "You're a friendly little thing, aren't you?"
She couldn't believe how this little creature had made her so comfortable. "Oh no." She laughed softly and shook her head. "It's alright." As she laughed she moved slightly and groaned. Her ankle throbbed with pain. Watching Aimeric with his cat actually made her more comfortable. She was told that it was possible to tell how a man was with how they treated their pets. Then again, Alexander was fond of rats yet he was quite an uncomfortable piece of work. "You really love your cat, don't you?" Her voice was gentle as the pain faded a bit. "I can handle it." Her reply was honest. The pain didn't matter.
