Carlotta was roaming the halls of the manor. Lately, she had been exploring the village much more. She found it frightening, interesting, and positively exciting. She had found out much about this... world. It was so much different from her own. England had changed quite a bit since her last visit. Carlotta learned that the horseless carriage were called cars... and there were different kinds.
She had learned about some of the new technologies of this place like these things like the youth were almost constantly on called, cell phones. And what most of them were doing were, texting. She tried to get one but they wouldn't take her money. Imagine that! Someone refusing Carlotta's good money! Then there were the styles of clothing... ladies were pants and their hair cut short. Everyone's clothing were all quite... QUITE different from what she knew.... And she loved it!
As strange as this new sort of world was, and however she got there, she felt very much in place. She almost felt like this place... this time rather was much more for her. It excited her. True, she had no idea about anything yet, but this new kind of place was hers.. and she couldn't wait to get her paws on it. There was one thing though.... no one liked her money. One even said that they stopped using Francs long time ago. But how could that be? They say that now they use pounds, how strange! And if this was truly so... then she needed to get as much of this 'pound' as she could get. So she will have to get a job. Now usually she would try to get into the musical career but... that's what her parents would have wanted.... it was time to try something else.
Carlotta had heard rumors on there being this new technology in the manor, and now she was seeking it out. Perhaps it could help her get a job... whatever it was. Or however it worked. Carlotta found a room that had a label on it, much as the dorm doors did, but it read 'Movie Room'. Movie room... what is that? She wondered. The she opened the door to a large screen and almost like a theatre auditorium, it had rows of red seats. The screen was on, though black, and had some writing bouncing around on the screen. Carlotta went to the other side of the back of the auditorium and found a room that had a staircase. She went up and found a room with a sort of... projecting technology. On two of the four walls, there were rows and rows of thin things. She picked one off a shelf and read 'Burlesque'.
Intrigued, having no idea what this thing was, she tried to open it, finding that it opened sort of like a book but only with a front and back cover that stuck together when closed tightly. Carlotta took out a round object from it, the back of it shined, or rather, reflected. She went over to the projector device and looked for a way to put the round thing in. She then found a button that read 'open'. She pushed it and out came a sort of flat surface came out and waited for her. She glanced at it, then to the round object, then back to the projector. She then put it in and pushed on open again and it closed. The screen changed and suddenly music boomed through out the auditorium. Carlotta was both frightened and excited. The music was strange, nothing she had ever heard before. She then pressed the open button and out popped the round object. She put everything back into its place and was about to pick another from the shelf when she heard something. Carlotta went to the unglassed window where the projector was and looked out. "Hola? Is anyone else in here? She called out into the now quite auditorium.
