"Did you say something?" Teressa turned to Claude fully, resting her arms by her side. A thin sheen of sweat was forming at her hairline and across her collarbone, but thanks to her outfit, she didn't really sweat anywhere else. She cocked her head slightly, looking him over. He seemed...distracted. Not by her, but by something else.
"Is something on your mind, Monsieur Delacroix?" She walked over to him. "I promise I don't bite." She giggled a little. She'd already opened up more to him, so wasn't it fair for her to listen to his thoughts? She certainly thought so. She always appreciated it whenever someone felt that they could listen to her troubles for a bit. Which he had, and he'd given her advice, as well.

"Perhaps it is time to tell her," He whispered to himself, looking into Teressa's lovely eyes. He inhaled deeply and exhaled, gently taking her hands in his. "I- or should I say- 'we' are not who you think we are…" His hands squeezed hers as he drew himself up to his full height. "We are Lucifer. We are the Devil."
He visibly swallowed and just stared at Teressa, wondering how she would react to his 'confession'. Would she be afraid? Repulsed? Wish to run away from him? Oh, but he was so drawn to her! Something about this masked woman had made him falter and stumble backwards. His face remained stoic as he steadied himself against a wall, his breathing had become a bit ragged now as his face paled. His eyes darkened and he looked away from her as his voice became deeper and more frightening. Something about her made his darkness come out, showing his real self to her. "F-Forgive us…" He rasped, covering his face with one hand. "Please, don't look at us. A beauty such as yourself should not have to see a horror like us."

"The....the what...?" Teressa was not believing any of it. He'd been kind to her, how could he be the devil? But...but the devil wasn't just evil. No, no, Erik had taught her better. The devil was temptation. He was deceiving...oh dear...And his voice...what was wrong with his voice?
Teressa turned away from him, shuddering. What should she do? Should she flee? Was she safe? She planted her feet on the ground, hoping that her knees wouldn't give out beneath her. "M-m-monsieur....D-Delacroix...?" Her hands began to shake. She had a bad feeling about this....Taking a few small steps forward, she thought of different plans of action, should this go awry...

Claude panted heavily, his throat growling as he kept a trembling hand to his face. He shut his eyes and tried to calm himself, hoping they would change back to their deep hazel color. He did not want to frighten the beautiful woman, not like this. Not ever. He opened his eyes and looked up at her, still panting.
"Forgive me," He whispered harshly, slowly rising to his feet and extending his shaking hands to her. "Please… Forgive me for deceiving you like this. You are so lovely and gentle… Unlike us. We are evil and hated by everyone. And it is your gentleness and kindness that keeps us from wishing to harm or frighten you. Teressa. Sweet, beautiful Teressa…" He could no speak anymore, his hands only trembled as he kept them extended towards her.

"I...." Teressa stuttered nervously. She felt that if she didn't leave now, she might not be able to leave at all..."I should go, Monsieur...." She turned back one more time to give Delacroix an apologetic look before turning on her heels and running. The devil, he'd said....God....
What was the devil doing trying to talk to her? What did he want with her? Oh dear....he might have tried to hurt her if she'd stayed...but he did say that he didn't want to hurt her. GOD, she was so confused...
She sprinted to the stairs, running down a few floors before she stopped and leaned against the wall, panting hard. That was quite the run-in....she wondered if perhaps she'd see the man again....Well...if he truly was the devil, then she hoped not...for her sanity's sake.
