"Erik," she whispered, looking at him. "Your name is Erik." So her Angel had a name. Erik. It was a name that was pleasant to the ear, at least. Erik wanted her to sing for him.
"I will sing for you, if that is what you wish." she spoke, in her normal soft tone. Her voice displayed no sign of anxiousness or fright--after all, she was an actress, and she had fashioned an excellent skill for disguising her voice.
"Is there anything you'd prefer to hear me sing?" she asked timidly, tilting her head slightly as she watched him, her eyes never daring to leave him.

"Sing whatever pleases you...whatever pleases you shall be what pleases Erik. Erik shall give you a moment to decide..." Erik's baritone voice was soft and angelic, even though it was a bit out of place with his odd mask. He disappeared into his bedroom for a moment and exchanged his tail coat for a dressing gown. He was careful not to leave the door open, for he had no wish for Christine to see his coffin bed. It could frighten her. There would be enough time for an explanation when she became more comfortable.
At this point, Erik wasn't sure if he was seeing signs of trepidation in Christine. She seemed calm, but he knew she had been that way before, just before she had pulled off his mask. He must be sure not to let her come too near unless he was watching her closely.
He returned to the living room after carefully closing his bedroom door. He was excited to show her the bridal suite he had created for her, but he knew from experience it was too soon. She must b e carefully eased into the thought of marrying him. He took his place at the organ. But she must not be too close.
"Christine will stand there..." Erik pointed with a dramatic gesture to a place near the door, a distance away from him. "Christine will sing what she wishes and Erik will accompany her. Please, begin." Erik smiled under the mask, aware that she would not be aware of it, but his eyes looked kind and his gestures were not frightening.
