Roselin had come here once before, with Erik. Though of course it was very strange because he was quite the Erik from the stage version of the Phantom of the Opera. Or at least one of the stage versions. It was probably a little after four. Now, someone might say, why was a fourteen year old villager in the dining hall of a supposed haunted manor in which she had met a Phantom of the Opera character? Well, it was simply because she could. She knew her way to it from the outside garden.
Roselin thought it would be cool to go in once again and possibly run into Erik again if he was around here. She had been sitting there for maybe no longer than ten minuets. She had made herself a glass of water and was sitting at the wooden table which had the beautifully made tablecloth on it. She wondered why not many were over here by now. It was about an hour till dinner time... well... it would be in her house... and only for her because her father would just be getting home, he would eat in front of the t.v. then either go to bed or go to the local bar. And she thought it would be nice for a change if she perhaps had dinner here, her father wouldn't notice. He hardly noticed her anymore even when she was there.
But, because this still wasn't her place, she wasn't going to eat unless there was someone to eat with. Though she had become use to eating alone, she still didn't want to dig in into other people's food supply without their permission. So until and hour later or until she got hungry, she wasn't going to eat. But first before that, she also wouldn't do so without someone else being here. She was content to just sit where she was at and drink up the water. As she sat, she sat up tall, she had been taught to do so since she was in ballet and when she was little and her mom was around, and her legs swung up and down slightly, much like a board kid just hanging out, which she kind of was. Roselin brought out her phone and started to text her best friend Kimberly. Hey, when ever u get the chance 2 txt me back, do so! lol. She then closed it and put it back in her pocket.
Another few minuets went by and she supposed that Kimberly might have already been asleep or was out doing something with her family... or what Roselin kind of didn't like to think about.... she was possibly hanging out with her new friends. But suppose it was alright as Roselin herself had also kind of made new friends. She had sort of made friends with the lady in the gas mask who she met in the Polish store and she had sort of made friends with Erik, who she had met out in the gardens outside of the manor. Roselin took another sip of her water and got up and walked over to the piano. She wasn't all that great at the piano, she stunk at playing all musical instruments, but out of all of them, she probably played the piano the best. She stood next to the piano and reached over to the keys and played a few notes. After playing them, she hummed them. And did that a few times. Roselin smiled a bit and began to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, though slowly and kind of badly, but she did her best.

Carlotta trudged downstairs groggily after a late afternoon nap wearing her gray dress with the furs and hat. Her sleeping patterns had been rather off lately, she supposed because of the apparent shift in time zones. From what she had seen of the outside, along with most of the labels on things she had seen being in English, it seemed that the Vicomte had been right in saying that they were in England. Ha! The idea, however, remained absurd.
How on earth would someone have brought her all of the way to England? That was the real question. It certainly didn't make sense in the slightest! It was not much to worry over though. She would simply have to reach her contacts in England and explain to them the situation at hand and surely something could be arranged for her to leave this dreaded place and to return to Paris.
At the moment though, she was famished. After all, sleeping could definitely work up a diva's appetite, and so she was heading downstairs to the dining area which she had seen previously. While it wasn't a rather well-advertized fact, Carlotta was indeed quite skilled at the art of cake baking and decorating – the decorating especially. The cake became her canvas and the icing her paints and the teaching that Signore Giapetto had shared with her returned to her in a stroke of inspiration. Surely there would be something to eat there in that place, or if not, at least ingredients to make a cake.
She was nearing the dining room when she heard the slow and meterless plunking of an annoying nursery tune on the rather out of tune piano sitting in the dining room. O, Signore! she thought to herself, wondering who could possibly be creating that God-forsaken sound. She entered the dining room and saw an oddly dressed blonde child sitting at the upright piano-forte in the corner. So that was where it was coming from...
Carlotta folded her arms and tapped her fingers on her arm, staring at the child as he continued to play. “Are you about through?” she asked in her Italian grandeur after about the fifth time that the ,melody had been played through. It was quite irritating – especially when doe incorrectly.

Roselin jumped slightly when she heard a woman's voice. Before she turned to look who it was, for a quick moment, she thought she had recognized the voice. When she had turned around, there stood Carlotta! Dressed in furs and a hat and all! She couldn't believe her eyes. This lady looked exactly like the actual stage version of Carlotta from Andrew Loyd Webber's musical. First the Erik and now the Carlotta?!
"Yes I am done, I was just trying to pass the time...." She said. Roselin didn't know if she would survive this visit. If this woman acted very much like Carlotta did, just as Erik acted exactly as the Phantom would, she knew that there was a great possibility that she would be chewed up and spat out in probably less than ten minuets. "I am Roselin Soulle by the way. You can just call me Roselin though." She said politely. She wasn't sure if she was just trying to be nice to her or if she was just trying not to get chewed out by the diva. Either way, Roselin smiled a bit as she looked at the lady who greatly resembled Carlotta.
Roselin would have loved to know how all this was possible. The first time she came here without her best friend, and suddenly there is a whole new strange world almost that had opened up to her. She had now met two Phantom characters within the past week. And even though she had met Erik, she didn't think that she would be meeting Carlotta as well! Roselin felt almost like she was to a big wild cat, any wrong moves and she would be pounced. She knew that if this meeting lasted any longer though, sooner or later, she would either talk to much and annoy her to a great length or just say something wrong and her top would blow. With Roselin.... possibly both might happen. She knew herself pretty well to know that it would be difficult to possibly survive a meeting between herself and Carlotta.
Roselin felt slightly.... rather small. While Carlotta was in furs and in a hat, Roselin was wearing simple cloths. She wore blue jean shorts, a yellow tank top with a dark pink, short sleeved shirt underneath. She wore her black ballet flats that she absolutely loved, they were one of her favorite pairs of shoes. And she had about fourteen thin bracelets on one of her wrists, all of them multi-colored. And on her other wrist, she wore two thick, rubbery bracelets, one light blue and the other white. The thick blue bracelet had 'Owl City' on it in white. So because of her summer, light, outfit, she felt a bit under dressed in Carlotta's presence. Roselin took a few steps away from the piano feeling that if she stood to close to it, Carlotta just might shoo her away from it for playing it so badly. She was never scared when she was the Phantom's face, not at all, but in Carlotta's presence, she felt a bit unnerved.

Carlotta's brow furrowed. Rosalin? The brat before her was a girl? Or was it a boy with a girl's name? It certainly didn't loo like a female – it's hair was too short and its clothing all wrong... She nodded curtly. “I am Signora Carlotta Celestia Giudicelli, prima donna asoluta of the Opéra Populaire.”
The diva's green eyes judgmentally studied the... person before her. Honestly, she was a little confused as to whether it were a male or a female. The voice sounded feminine, but that could have merely been because it was a per-pubescent boy. But then again, there was far too much jewelry (albeit strange jewelry) that this Rosalin was wearing. “Signorina Rosalin,” she said, deciding that Rosalin was indeed female, “Have you taken lessons on the piano-forte before?”

Roselin's eyes widened. Signora Carlotta... of the Opera Populaire! Carlotta, Carlotta, another character from the stage play. Roselin then swallowed her slight fear. She knew she had nothing to worry about! She could take on ten Carlotta's at once if she had too. Surely she could handle this one and perhaps under all that mean, spoiled brat, attitude, perhaps she wasn't all that bad.
Roselin's eyes twinkled with pleasantness and she smiled widely. There was no way that she was going to be all adoring over Carlotta, not in a million years, but from what she could remember from the play. Not many of the characters tried any sort of real kindness and pleasure, though Roselin wasn't all to sure that she would get any kindness returned to her anyways. "Actually, I have not take any lessons. I know, it shows, but surely I can't be blamed for trying to entertain myself a bit. Even more so since I didn't know that any one else would be coming in and hearing my playing." Roselin spoke politely.

A brief moment of shock crossed the diva's face when the child admitted on her own that she was not very good, but it quickly faded into her usually indifferent, slightly haughty expression. She was actually quite impressed! This Rosalin girl was not one of those inexperienced, know-it-all twigs who thought that they were the greatest thing on the face of the planet and that they had some sort of 'natural talent' which could make up for a complete and utter lack of training. It was... odd to say the least. It took a moment for the diva to know how to react. She wasn't used to such a thing...
“Ah... well... yes. I suppose you wouldn't have....” Carlotta raised an eyebrow slightly, further examining the odd-looking girl before her. After a bit of internal deliberation on what she should say to the child, she stepped forward, making her way toward the piano and plopped down on the seat. “Here, I show you how. Al Conservitorio we learned how to play the basic scales and the notes so we could learn la nostra musica – our music. I show you Do scale” And with that, the diva played a C major scale. She was by no means an expert with the instrument, but she could at least show the girl a few things. After all, she quite liked getting attention, especially for her talents... or in this case, basic grasp of a concept and elementary capabilities.

Roselin's smile widened and her eyes brightened. The slight look of shock on Carlotta's face was priceless, though she wasn't all that sure of what shocked her so. And although the look was gone in a moment, Roselin continued to look on happily. Oh yes, the very talkative, happy little girl she was. She was quiet when Carlotta said little to her, though the fact that she didn't continue to criticize her piano playing surprised her a bit. But what shocked her even more is when Carlotta had sat down at the piano and began to speak about doing a scale or something on the piano.
Now it was Roselin's turn to have a look of shock. Was the stuck up, prima dona, hater Carlotta really attempting to teach her a few notes on the piano. She had never really imagined Carlotta to be the type that would even attempt to have the patience to try and get a little girl to learn something. Or do something without having a different motive behind it or getting something out of it. Who knows, perhaps she will get a friend out of it. Ha! Roselin, friend to Carlotta. Oh that would be a interesting friendship indeed. Roselin smiled, as if she hadn't been this whole time, and watched and listened as Carlotta played a scale. Roselin sat down next to Carlotta on the space that was left on the seat. "So... sort of like this?" She said, almost getting it right but played it on her side of the piano so they weren't the right notes.

((XD The funny thing is that Carlotta is doing it for her own gain. it just happens to also benefit Roselin in the process lol))
Carlotta watched judgingly as the girl sat beside her on the bench and began to play. Ugh! It was all wrong! She had her hands in the wrong position, her posture was terrible, she didn't even play the right notes. This wouldn't do at all! She couldn't have someone going around and saying that they had learned from La Carlotta and yet play like that. Her reputation was at stake here -- even if it wasn't for singing.
"No, no," she huffed. "You 'ave your hands in wrong position. You keep the relaxed like this" She showed her the correct was to hold her hands while playing. "Is like you constantly fold two oranges -- due arancie -- ehile you are playing. And you start on the wrong note." She shoved a chubby finger down on the middle C key and the note resonated. "Do. Now start again from the beginning and sit up straight. You slouch like droopy plant with not enough water."

((Yup, but Roselin would be a bit to happy and naive to think that. xD))
Roselin nodded vigorously as Carlotta listed all the things she needed to do because she was doing it wrong. Not only was it probably good information for playing the piano but it was also Carlotta and she knew that she could have been a lot more snappy and red faced then she was now, which was only just a bit. Roselin sat up strait as she was told to. She should have been use to sitting tall by now since she had gotten into the habit of doing so when singing anyways.
Roselin put her finger on the middle C key and hesitated for a moment to begin playing. She played the little melody in her head a few times so that she would play it correctly. She fixed her hands to be relaxed and spider like. She let her fingers play the melody. And though it was much better than before, but not perfect. She was off beat and had hesitated a few times on a few of the notes. She was concentrating a bit to much on her hand now, rather then listening to the music. But now was the real question: Was it possibly Carlotta worthy? Probably not.

((D'awwww XD poor baby. This is so awkward though because I haven't taken a piano class in like 5 years XD))
Carlotta's emerald green eyes scanned over the little blonde girl judgmentally. Her posture had certainly improved in reference to how she was seated, but her fingers still weren't moving together as they should... She let out a bit of a flustered sigh, covering her face with her palm and shaking her head for a moment before she returned her eyes to the girl seated at the piano-forte.
“No, No.... Better, but still no! Your fingers must move as one! Look –” She held up her left hand to show the girl and used her right hand to point to each finger, numbering them as she went, and beginning with her thumb. “One, two, three, four, and five. You have five fingers. They are the same numbers as on your other hand: one, two, three, four, five. You must learn to have them move together: five and one, four and two, and three and three.”

((Not that I would notice any mistakes xDD))
Roselin nodded vigorously, all that Carlotta said to her made sense, at yet she had no idea at the same time. Why was it so much harder for her to do any sort of instrument, even a more basic one as piano, than it was to singing?! Sure, an instrument took more consentration on the fingers and notes and such. But you kind of had to do that with singing too.
Roselin bit down on the inside of her cheek slightly, concentration on her hands. Five and one, four and two, three and three. She played on the piano slowly. She then did it again, a little more faster and fluidly. She glanced at Carlotta for a judgement but then quickly looked back down at the keys and did it again, improving a little more. She then attempted the Do, Re, Mi scale on the piano and her fingers fumbled slightly. She cringed slightly as if she had accidentally burned fingers.
Roselin then quickly tried to do better before judgement came and slouched for a moment. She took a deep breath, sat up tall, then played. Five and one, four and two, three and three. She smiled slightly then it dropped for a moment, perhaps she had made a mistake, she didn't want it to be called out on. The little blonde girl looked at the Italian woman, with slight hopefulness in her eyes. "Did I do better?" She asked, hoping that a rough remark would be shot back. Sure, she was kind of liking Carlotta a bit, but she still greatly disliked when people heavily criticized her but tried to not get overly worked up about it.

((D'awww XD And I have a question for you.... IS ROSELIN BY ANY CHANCE A MY LITTLE PONIES FAN, BECAUSE I HAVE DECIDED THAT MAMMA IS GOING TO BECOME A PEGASISTER!))
Carlotta observed the girl closely as she continued practicing her fingerings. She was getting better, but she was still fumbling a bit and having difficulties. She bit her lip a little when she saw the girl slouch, and turned around, taking a step back, before turning on her heel to face the girl once more.
Her expression softened to a smile though when the girl sat back up and tried again, this time doing the fingering correctly. She could see the girl falter afterward, seemingly unsure of whether or not she had done it correctly, and then turn to the plump diva with a hopeful gaze.
“Benissimo,” she said, nodding in approval and giving a small clap. Carlotta rather enjoyed this, having someone look up to her almost, to crave her opinion and her approval. It was rather refreshing, really. “You are already doing much much better. It will do you good to keep practicing.”

((SHE IS NOW! XD))
Roselin smiled when Carlotta had seemed pleased when she finally fixed herself up and had tried again. She liked Carlotta much more like this than to face her scorn. As long as she seemed happy or at least content she was really rather pleasant, or at least she believed so. "I will definitely practice more." She said with a toothy grin but did not turn to continue practicing.
Instead, she got up and then leaned back on the piano a bit, smiling and looked at Carlotta with wide and curiosity filled eyes. "So.... I was wondering. How has your time here been so far? I heard from... another person that their first while here wasn't all that great. Which is funny because I been having the best time of my life here since I was little." Roselin said smiling. She couldn't imagine Carlotta being too happy since Roselin hadn't seen anyone around who would fallow or listen to Carlotta sing or attempt to befriend her.

Carlotta gave a satisfied nod in acknowledgement of Roselin’s claim about how she would be sure to practice more. She enjoyed the fact that this little girl was willing to take her advice in matters of music. Carlotta very much did enjoy being admired, particularly in what she considered to be her field of expertise. She was, after all, a great artist in her own time and place. She only wished that it could somehow better continue here…
Roselin asked her what her time there in the Manor had been like so far. Carlotta certainly hadn’t enjoyed it. She had far more important things to do, places to be, and people to see than were presented in this god awful facility. “Non c’è bene,” the fiery-headed diva said with a sigh. “Not good… I’m fairly certain that this is in violation of my contract, no? Oh Dio… What an impression to make on the new managers…”

Roselin giggled when Carlotta said that it would be a violation of her contract. That was quite the best thing she had probably heard all day just because of who it was coming from and what the situation was. The young blonde laughed a little more when Carlotta seemed annoyed at how the new managers would take to her absents. Unless she wasn't absent.
Roselin pursed her lips and made a loud 'Hmmm' sound then smirked. "Well, from what I have been hearing from others in the manor, they come here from a certain point in their lives... and when others from their same... time come, they either come earlier from their time or farther in their time so they know what happens more than the first person and they have no memory of anyone suddenly disappearing!" Roselin paused for a moment then laughed again. "I think I was onto something but now I can't remember what it was... yup my brain is fried." She laughed, trying to make a joke but unsure if the diva would actually get it.
