Erik laughed softly. "Erik did not see all this through a telescope. But he has studied the ancients and their knowledge of the universe. When Galileo invented the telescope, he discovered they had been wrong about some things. He was tried by the Inquisition for his "heresy" in which he agreed with Copernicus that the earth revolved about the sun." Erik blinked. "Erik did not mean to lecture the lovely lady," he said softly.
"One cannot see everything through a telescope, observations and calculations must be made to discern the movements..." Then Ana said that there was a massive telescope orbiting the earth. His eyes glinted yellow in amazement. "There are photographs of nebulae, stars and galaxies? And what is a black hole? Erik has not heard this term..."
Then Erik felt a bit of cold and wondered if his companion felt it too. "Mademoiselle, Erik has felt a bit of cold and perhaps the lady had also. Would she care to re-enter the mansion?"

As her eyes moved between the stars and Castagne, she began to wonder about this Erik. He was nothing what she thought he'd be. He was utterly sweet. Once again, another Erik shocked her in a good way. Perhaps being at the Manor was not so bad nor was it so bad to be living with all these Phantoms. She honestly will enjoy their company.
Nodding as he explained his reasoning and knowledge. It made sense to her. Why wouldn't a boy of free mind consider other routes and ideas? Watching him and wondered if his mother was proud of him in any way? Was anyone proud of him? So sad that these Eriks of brilliant minds were so shunned. They shouldn't have been. "You're not lecturing, Erik." And smiled at him. "I like hearing your thoughts and ideas." That was the truth.
Nodding with a slight snicker, "Yes. You can see the images of those far off places. And a black hole is just that, it's a black void.. that looks just like a black dot or hole. It's hard to explain but I'm sure if we look it up, you may be able to understand it better by reading from the sources rather than hearing a messed up version from me," snickering with a grin. Nodding now as she looked up at the stars. "Sure." Then returned her eyes back to Erik with a smile. And would walk back to the Manor with him, walking beside him without fear at all.

Erik seemed a bit excited at the thought of new knowledge. "Are there books with these concepts explained that Erik might read? Is there a library here? Erik has not explored the mansion very much. He likes to keep to himself. But perhaps there is much to be learned in exploring other places..."
Somehow Erik felt a bit at ease with this woman. She was kind and patient. She didn't seem afraid of him. Even Christine had been afraid of the fact that he was wearing a mask and that was before she had pulled it off to see the real horror of his face. Normally Erik said no more than a few words. With Christine it had been different. He had poured out his heart to her, but before that, and since then, he had no wish to speak unnecessarily. It had become hard to speak out loud. But perhaps now, this woman Ana would make him feel more at ease. Perhaps she would make it easier for him to speak to others...
They walked toward the door and Erik held it open for her, then followed her in, taking off his hat, revealing his dark red coloured skull cap.

Gazing back at Castagne with a smile and rather delighted! If there was one thing about any of the Phantoms, they were so very inquisitive, so eager and hungry for knowledge and wisdom. They never wanted to stop learning. That had to be one of the best qualities any person could possess. Nodding, "Yes there are. Plenty of books. Even documentaries and websites. Nearly anything you can imagine and then some, all at your fingertips." Pausing a moment, "I think NASA has a website for the Hubble Space Telescope," she thought. Then looked at Castagne and realized most likely he's never heard anything of what she said. "Sorry, I keep forgetting you guy are not familiar with all the modern stuff. That's alright. I'll help you with it all."
With a grin and snicker, walking back to the Manor. So far, she really enjoyed meeting and getting to know the Phantoms. Each one not as bad as one would think. It was possible to get past their masks, and with her possible to get past their faces. Life will never be dull at the Manor with all these Eriks and she'd have it no other way.
With another grin, "Thank you," in a soft joyful tone as he held the door open and she walked through. Inside, she waited for him with her usual pleasant visage. Glancing at the red cap and was slightly intrigued. Pondering and recalled he did not have much hair. Ahhh, he had a Jean-Luc Picard type of hairstyle. That was utterly kosher for her.
Rubbing her hands a moment then held them together as though she were going to say a prayer, held at waist level, "It was a nice night. Thank you for stargazing with me, even though it was brief." Not sure what more to do but she would take a leap, hoping she would not frighten him too much by this but she felt it had to be done. So she moved to him and gave him a hug. "Good night, Erik." "I look forward to seeing you again and hopefully will show you all those pictures soon of the universe."

After entering the mansion again, Erik was glad to be in from the cold. Much as he loved the stars, he did not much relish the cold in which one must study them. The idea of a huge telescope orbiting the earth was amazing and exciting to Erik. "Erik is amazed that such things exist...and what is NASA and website? But Mademoiselle can speak with Erik another time. It is late and Erik does not wish to keep the lady awake for his own convenience."
"Erik is grateful to have met Mademoiselle." He bowed slightly. "And Erik looks forward to speaking again with her. Perhaps Mademoiselle would show Erik some of the places in the mansion that he should know about. But now Erik bids Mademoiselle a very good night."

Opening her mouth as she started to beam with excitement to explain such new curiosities to Castagne. No doubt the other Eriks would find the modern world incredibly fascinating with all the new gadgets and advancements, even the new technology that was still being created to further better humanity! Nodding then instead of saying a word. "Of course! Consider it a deal, Erik," as she grinned. Hoping that he would enjoy the new things, not just what the modern world had to offer but to have someone explore the Manor with.
Still grinning and slightly bowed to him as well, "So do I, Erik. So do I." With that, she waved with a little wiggle of her fingers and left him. It was a good evening and was all smiles, glad to have met Erik Castagne. She would look forward to meeting him again soon and showing all the wonders of the modern world.
