Meg nodded as Christine described all she'd met. "I haven't met anyone blonde with your name, but I have heard of others. It's so strange!" She shook her head. "I've only met a few people myself..." she muttered as Christine mentioned Mister Y. She didn't know what to say to that. She knew Christine, at the point she remembered, wasn't under his spell again. But at the same time, she just wished she could wipe the events of the past from memory, for everyone involved. "I'm glad your husband is here, however." She smiled lightly.
She decided to change the subject. "Where are you staying? In one of the dormitories? My room is very nice, but the clothes are strange, like the ones I'm wearing. I can't complain, though. They remind me of the costumes we wore in the ballet. I think the room's previous occupant was an artist, isn't that romantic?!"
Meg giggled. "I'll have to tell you all about New York City, as well. You were only there for a little while, not enough to see the sights I bet!"

Nodding as she listened to her old friend with a warm visage. She still couldn't believe that Meg was here and was overly excited to at least have her dear old friend near to do things with once again.
"Yes," nodding again. "One of the suites," making a motion with her hand as though towards the direction they were. "They are nice, aren't they?" Smiles back at her friend. She so felt like a young girl again when with Meg. "Strange clothes?" Smirks as she softly giggled. Oh, that brought back a few memories related to clothes.
"An artist? Why do you say that, Meg?" Very curious about her friends conclusion. Meg always had a way of making her curious and getting her attention in ways that no one else could expect her Angel of Music.
"Oh, please do, Meg! I hoped to have gone and see the sights. Show Gustave around and spend some time with him," that little ache at not knowing where her little boy had gone to. "How long have you been in New York?"

"Well," she began in relation to the artist question, "There are a lot of sketchbooks in the rooms, full ones, and they're all very good. It was most definitely a woman, of course, because of the clothes left behind, but I think they're swell!" She smiled sweetly.
Her eyes looked downcast when she mentioned Gustave. She recalled how she found out that he was the son of Mister Y... in a not very pleasant way, either. "I've been in New York ten years and there's not much to see for a little boy besides Coney Island, where I work... er... worked. Hehe."
She shrugged. "What exactly were you doing in NYC anyway? You were just there to sing, right?" She recalled that this Christine hadn't met Meg yet, so she decided to play along.

Listening to Meg explain where she was staying and her knowledge of New York. Sketches and odd clothes. Smiling though when she said that there was nothing for a young boy to do in New York. There was no doubt in Christine's mind that Gustave would find something amazing and entertaining nevertheless. That boy had a way of simply entertaining himself without effort. Oh, how every fiber of her being ached for her son. To hold him again. Hoping she could find him soon.
Ten Years?!? She must have left France following the disaster at the Opera House. That thought got her to recall those unfolding unlikable events that changed her life forever. It could have gone a different direction, too, and no one would ever have known about it. Or would they have? Would they have ever seen her again if she remained with him. Trying so hard to hide those 'what if' thoughts as she looked back at Meg.
Keeping that pleasant look upon her face as she thought she mentioned to Meg before the true reason why she was in New York. Nodding as part of her response, " Monsieur Hammerstein extended the invitation to sing at the new Opera in New York and I accepted." She did not say why she accepted it. No one needed to know the reason, even if the rumors were flying around like a mad swarm of bees. "I admit, I was rather excited and eager to see this new Opera." As well as to sing once again, she thought. It was so difficult to sing as oddly Raoul seemed to not fancy her career any more. Did he not approve or like her singing? As always, Christine did her best to hide the troubles and woes that plagued her life.
