Erik went from the door, to the sidelines of the room, staying silent. He just wanted to know what had happened to her, though, he seemed to have slightly involved himself in something a little more complicated. I bit of chaos exploded, though there had been a bit of it even before Erik had came into the room. But after Lenoir had said something about them being all in Christine's room, another man appeared, though he was quite sure that he hadn't seen him before. There was something about this new man that was off, and Erik didn't much like it.
He kept silent, almost feeling like he had been put back into the opera Garnier, where he was a ghost- a phantom. At the moment, he felt that he was very a much a ghost in the room, not that he knew that there was a real ghost in the room, but he kind of was enjoying that he wasn't being dragged into any of the conversation. Perhaps he could slip out, though he didn't want to do that until he found out what was the matter with the Vicomtess. Though he felt that the only one he wished to ask was Lenoir since he had a bone to pick with the other Vicomte de Chagny and the younger one, didn't seem to like him all that much at first glance but it seemed that Lenoir didn't really know what was quite wrong with her.
But soon, Lenoir did bring Erik into the conversation and restrained himself from sighing. "No, I don't think you would hurt anyone, especially mademoiselle de Chagny." He said quietly. Erik nodded slightly to the older Raoul when he had finally noticed him and had told him that Christine was ill. However, this news did nothing to satisfy him or calm his nerves and mind of whether she would be alright or not. Erik watched silently as the new man gave the Vicomtess something, he didn't recognize it, but he doubted it was something that would harm the her since wouldn't make any sense for some strange and random man to come in and try to hurt the Vicomtess in a room filled with other people. He seemed to be the only one that didn't try to jump down his throat and instead, continued to stay very quiet, keeping to the side and waited to see if anything would happen to the Vicomtess after receiving what ever it was that the nameless man had given her.
He watched as the man passed the bottle around, though Erik didn't care much to see it. The man said it was medicine and he hoped he could believe him... especially since he had already given some of it to her. Erik listened as he said that he was also a friend to the Vicomtess and for the moment, he was rather glad that he was because none of them- he was sure, would have known about that bottle and it may have been the one thing that could help her. He also listened as the man told them that someone in the manor had kidnapped the Vicomtess, why would anyone want to do that? She was a friendly and capable woman, why did they kidnap her? And even possibly more importantly, who kidnapped her? He listened as he continued on to introduce himself as Charles Dalimar... the master and constructor of the house. Finally! To meet the master of the manor, perhaps he could answer a few reasons why they were all here and how it was that they all had such similar stories and where they had all come from since they all said that they had came from roughly the same places.
Right after Charles had asked them if any of them had any questions for him, the Vicomtess began to stir. The first name was Charles so it was fairly obvious that he was telling the truth, unless it was just because she had started to wake up and had heard Charles introduce himself, however- he doubted it some. Erik sighed slightly in relief that Christine was slowly coming too. He was glad to see her already starting to get better, or at least wake from her slumber that nearly looked she would never awaken from her sleep. And although Erik didn't quite know what it was that made the Charles man seem so off or strange, he had to do something then just stand around or slip away. He took a few steps toward Charles and nodded to him. "I am Erik Carriere." He introduced himself shortly. "...Thank you for helping Mademoiselle de Chagny." He said to him. Yes, Lenoir was going to attempt to give some sort of medicine, he wasn't exactly sure if it would really help or have any side affects. Plus, this Charles seemed to know what he was doing and had done it quickly, despite the protests from everyone else. "Do you know what happened to her other than being kidnapped?" He asked Charles since he seemed to know at least about the kidnapping. Which none of the others seemed to know about.

Raoul’s eyes widened, incensed when Lenoir asked about Christine. “None of your damned business! You’re to stay away from her, or so help me, I’ll break your bloody neck!” he shouted, charging across the room and stopping right in front of the older man. In quite some time… His fists tightened. “You’ve seen her, haven’t you?! How dare you!”
“A pity they released you.” the Vicomte replied dryly. “It would have been in your best interest to stay in that hospital for all our sakes, including your own.” he answered darkly. “Modern medicine, my clever friend. That’s what it is.” Admittedly he had been unwilling to adjust to the twenty-first century at first, but clearly he had no choice. He wasn’t going to fight what he couldn’t. “Right, I’m sure you would have.” he responded sarcastically. “I’d be a fool to trust you, Lenoir.”
He rolled his eyes as he appealed to his masked counterpart, and then shook his head. He had half a mind to slip out the door and excuse himself from this foolishness, but then the strange man who had given Christine the liquid spoke, introducing himself as Charles Dalimar. “Master of the…you’re responsible for this, then! You kidnapped me! You kidnapped us all!” he accused angrily. “You damn ruined my life!”
He was about to say more when Christine woke up, apparently as a result of the medicine the man had given her. He thought back to something Charles had said. “Kidnapped…she was kidnapped? By whom? Oh…” He glared at Lenoir pointedly. “Why did I even bother asking?”

"De Chagny," said Erik darkly. "I believe it is Christine's business with whom she speaks, not yours. I have not done anything untoward to her. I was simply inquiring as to her health and well-being. And unless Christine tells me so, I shall not stay away from her. We are fast friends." Of course Erik was exaggerating quite a bit, but he hoped that in the future that statement might be true.
"And yes, I have spoken to her. Is that a crime, de Chagny?" Erik noticed the Vicomte's clenched fists. "And do keep your temper down, Monsieur. You do not wish to frighten the lady."
Then de Chagny went on about how it would have neen better if the hospital would have kept Erik there. Erik shook his head. "It seems to me, that of the two of us, you are decidedly the more pugnatious." Then Erik continued, "And a bit immature, I would say. Always pulling guns and raising your fists without thinking about what the consequences..."
But then the strange man appeared with his smoke and all attention turned to him. Erik was interested to hear that Charles Dalimar was the builder of the house and instrumental in bringing them all here. De Chagny turned his wrath on Dalimar, accusing him of kidnapping.
"Indeed, I agree with de Chagny," Erik was forced to say. "Why have you brought us here indeed?" But the subject changed again when Christine awakened. Erik was surprised. He wondered what the purple liquid had been. And why hadn't anyone thought of smelling salts? He certainly would have brought some if he had known Christine to be in this state.
Erik retorted angrily when de Chagny seemed to intimate that he had kidnapped this Christine too. "De Chagny, you disparage me! False accuations! I demand you retract that immediately!"

Edouard was indeed tired of the fighting and sniping of Lenoir and Christophe de Chagny. "Can you two not take your disputes elsewhere? If you want to kill each other, I could care less, but not here in my wife's room. She's an ill woman and I won't have you disturbing her! Now leave the room immediately unless you both can behave with proper decorum." He glanced at Carrière. "You seem to be the only one in her with a proper attitude and I thank you for that. The rest of you, calm down!"
The man who had introduced himself as Charles Dalimar gave Christine the medicine before anyone could stop him and she awoke, to Edouard's surprise. He barely noticed when Charles spoke again and then asked if anyone had any questions. Edouard held Christine in his arms, kneeling at her bedside. He pulled her close to him. "Christine, I've missed you so...and I have a surprise for you when you are well." Edouard stopped speaking for a moment and realized how gaunt and pale his wife looked. "You must tell me what happened to you...but not now, rest now..."

((OC: When did he disappear? xD )) Charles was appreciative when the first person to ask a question was the only one that wasn't trying to tear him apart. He might have been something otherworldly, but he was still prone to stress. "Monsieur Carriere, it was my pleasure." However, his pleasant mood seem to falter when he asked what had happened besides her being kidnapped.
"Ah..." he said, clasping his hands behind his back in a nervous sort of tick and glancing around rather sheepishly at them. "Well... unfortunately, the--one of the less than playful ghosts interrupted her rest. I had her resting in one of my private wings when he took her, fortunately just bringing her back here..."
Charles sighed down at the poor Vicomtesse as she stirred. "By who, I am not sure exactly... it wasn't anyone in this room. But someone like you." He waved his hand dismissively. "One of you Phantom fellows. However, the friend I mentioned before has... taken care of him, for the time being. In everyone's best interests."
The master of the house took the bottle when it was passed back to him and locked it back in the side table. He knew the question of why they were here and why he'd brought them was inevitable--and he wondered himself. "It wasn't me who brought you here... I was... consulted, yes. I helped in bringing you here. But I had no interest in welcoming more living people in my home."
He sat on the edge of Christine's bed, resting his hands on his knees. "It was the ghosts who brought you here, the others. You can ask them, because I have no idea what their intentions were... or are." Charles sighed and ran a hand through his hair--he'd missed that!--and folding his hands in his lap. "We didn't exactly kidnap you. If you were to go back now, I'm sure no one would have missed you for a second. You probably wouldn't even remember it that well."
He stood again, brow furrowed in a troubled expression. "Of course, none of us are leaving now. Not me, not Christine... not even the person trapping us here. Who, coincidentally, is not technically me." But your actions, Dalimar! Charles winced. None of that right now. He couldn't afford to feel bad for all he'd done right now, it wouldn't solve anything."

Taking in a deep a breath as possible that her poor lungs would allow, those drowsy eyes slowly blinked while slowly scanning the room. Yes.... there was Charles. He was near enough to recognize as well as his voice. And of course, her Husband, Raoul Edouard, which she smiled weakly in return to his words. It truly touched her that he worried for her. There was a reason why she still loved him. "A .. surprise?" her voice was weak but she tried at least. Now a bit curious to know what this surprise was.
Her eyes shifted upon the sound of others in the vicinity. Furrowing her brow. One voice she recognized. It was Lenoir! Raising her brows slightly. Both her Husband and Lenoir were in the same room and where not killing each other? This was a miracle to say the least. But Lenoir was arguing with someone else. Took her a moment but recognized the voice as Raoul Christophe. She sighed softly and closed her eyes a moment. Oh, poor Christophe. He was truly a troubled young man. Another voice she recognized was Carriere. But the words all jumbling with the emotions. Closing her eyes again as she tried to gather herself a bit, then opened her eyes upon the sensation of another on her bed, well as the foot of it. Charles?
"Monsieur Dalimar," she tried to raise her weak voice enough so that Charles could hear her. "I thank you... greatly... and kindly... for your... assistance... " she trailed off. So exhausted, so weak. "Gentlemen, your concern is appreciated. But, yes. Monsieur Dalimar is correct." A pause as she took a couple breaths. "Raoul... don't be so hard on Monsieur Dalimar or even Monsieur Lenoir. There are... greater.. evils here... than we even can imagine," Her eyes shifted to Dalimar. She wanted to talk to him eventually in due time to clarify things. But the intensity in her exhausted eyes was enough to stir a being to concern.
Suddenly there was a fear as her eyes opened a little wider. "Oooh, Forgive me, Monsieur Dalimar! Please, forgive me! I have not maintained the garden and roses!" She felt so horrible. "I broke my promise," in a weak, cracking, breathy voice.

Charles nodded slowly when she talked about there being greater evils in this place than just his rude entry or micromanagement, or Lenoir's sharp attitude. She could barely begin to comprehend what sort of evils, he was sure. He barely comprehended it, and he was the one who had brought it here. Surely, Madame Vicomtesse had many questions for him--she was probably wondering, too, how he was so suddenly so... human looking. Yes, he knew he wasn't human; just some cheap mockery, some meat puppet. He would keep that from Emma for as long as he could.
Charles rested his elbows on his knees, leaning forward and looking off into space as the others spoke. He remained doubtful that he could ever be on the side of good, no matter how much he might have liked to be. Though he didn't want to admit it--hoping to preserve any sanity he had left--he knew that even with the Devil, he was too far gone. He was too different. He would never be able to help, besides nurse Vicomtesse back to health and make his Emma marginally more happy than she had been. There would always be something lingering in him that would keep him from being all that he could have been when he was still alive.
He turned his head when he was certain Christine was addressing him, and he was surprised to find that she was torn up over her broken promise to preserve the flowers he held so dearly. Charles just smiled weakly and said, "Madame de Chagny, it is of little matter--after all, you were holed away God-knows-where." He smiled a little wider and then said softly, "Besides, the original owner of the roses is... in a condition to tend to them again. She will be delighted to meet you..."
Charles twisted his hands in his lap, trying to relieve some of the nerves that crept up on him. How would he ever explain to them what had happened to him, without losing any chance of them ever trusting him, even a little? Vicomtesse already knew he had been a ghost, and was sure to have told some people. Now he had no excuse to lie, even if it was to keep them ignorant. "She'll be delighted to meet all of you," he said, looking around the room. "The Lady of the house and I have be regrettably absent from you, and I apologize. We haven't kidnapped you--we had no part in that. But we do offer refuge."

Erik bowed his head slightly towards the older Vicomte who told him that he seemed to be the only one handling the situation correctly. Or in another scene, keeping calm and not going at anyone's throats. Truthfully, he was slightly happy that he was keeping calm because really, the only person he had any reason to attack would be the older Raoul which would not help his wife any.
Erik turned his attention back to Charles when he addressed him. He didn't quite like his sudden sheepishness. He then had said that one of the... the ghosts? A male ghost had took her but had brought her back here? Surely he couldn't have been really saying that a ghost had taken Christine to a different room... a ghost! Erik had been one long enough himself and thought that it was slightly silly to be blaming it on a ghost. Though suppose that the man really did think it was a ghost but it was in fact a man, such as Erik's case was.
Erik was further slightly confused as Charles continued to speak. It for some odd reason, just didn't seem to click in place for him and he couldn't exactly understand it all. But at least there was one question that was answered that Erik could understand. He wasn't the one that brought them here. That suddenly answered another question, they all had been kidnapped in some way since they had been brought here, not just magically appearing without anyone's consent. But then the next words he spoke, caught him off guard. More living people? Couldn't he just have said more people? How may ghosts did he think lived in the manor? Not including the phantoms that were actual people like himself.
Charles continued on to say that ghosts had brought them here. How on earth could ghosts have brought them here?! Truth be told, Erik was getting slightly frustrated with this but he kept silent and let him talk on. His attention quickly went back onto the Vicomtesse as she addressed Charles. His eyes widened slightly and he shifted his head slightly to look at Christine full on when she said that there were greater evils here. What evils was it that she knew about and is it the thing that had left her in such a ghastly state? Then to see the flash of flicker in her eyes when she asked for Charles's forgiveness about maintaining the.. the garden was off. He didn't like the situation at all. He glanced at Charles. What was it that happened to her while she stayed at one of his private wings? He wouldn't ask about it yet, but he might eventually learn about it later once he speaks to the Vicomtesse.
Erik felt only slightly better when Charles had said that it was alright and seemed to truly think so. Perhaps because of whatever Christine had been through, all problems in her mind have been magnified a bit or something. When Charles said that he and the.. lady of the house did not kidnap them but do offer refuge, he nodded slightly. If they didn't offer refuge, then what would have been the point of giving them all their own private rooms and putting them to the exact detailing of their liking. The details in his home was uncanny, but it did make him slightly feel like he was at home again, even though he was far from that. Erik slowly made his way back to the wall in silence. Now that he knew that the Vicomtesse was alright, or at least for now, there wasn't much more reason why he was in here. Except for perhaps keeping them from literally going at each others throats. As of now, he was plotting a short escape route and also at the ready to dive in and separate a fight if one were to break out. Or at least get the Vicomtesse out so she doesn't get hurt.

“No, monsieur, it is the business of both her and her husband, and considering the fact that she and I are to be wed it is my business as well.” Raoul snapped, his eyes blazing like steel. The words came out of his mouth without him missing a beat, even though he knew that it wasn’t true. He had yet to propose, but Lenoir didn’t know that. Besides, he was certain that his reaction would bring him amusement. Judging by the video he had seen in which Erik had witnessed him and Christine proclaim their love for each other on the rooftop , he guessed his face would resemble that of strangled animal.
“Well that’s all going to change once we’re married, isn’t it? You may be, as you claim, friends, but she is to be my wife.” he stated with a chuckle. “And there’s nothing in the world you can do about it. You’ve lost, Lenoir. No matter what you do, I’ll always win. Always.” he repeated firmly. “If you know what’s good for you, you will stay away from my fiancée.”
“Oh, pish-posh—you’re the one who’s scaring her. If I recall, she came to me in order to get away from you. But very well, if you so wish, monsieur, we can take this outside.” Raoul snarled back, starting to take off his coat. He was itching to pop him in the jaw again. He was trying to corrupt her again. Had he not warned her to stay away from the fiend? He would have to speak to her later—better yet, later he would ask her to marry him. And then he would buy a house in the village, and they’d run away. As soon as he saved up enough money to relocate to London, the so-called Phantom would be out of their hair forever.
He grinned humorlessly at the man’s outburst. “I shall do no such thing, monsieur. It appears the only way we can settle this is in a duel. Or are you too cowardly to do even that?” His fists were clenched at his sides, and his jacket was now draped over his arm as he waited for the man’s response. He wasn’t even paying attention to the rest of the goings-on in the room. He was too busy seeing red.

De Chagny was at it again. He was getting angry at Erik for nothing, over nothing. Why couldn't he just mind his own business? Erik was tired of his pugnatious character. But it was time to teach the fellow a lesson. De Chagny took off his coat, and Erik likewise removed his. "Indeed, let's take this outside!!" Erik strode out of the room and into the hallway and laid his coat over the credenza in the hall. He unbuttoned his waistcoat and undid his tie and collar.
"Now, I want you to know something, de Chagny." he said, laying the waistcoat and tie with his coat. " It is completely up to Christine as to whom she is going to be with...and it shall be me. You will see. I expect you haven't even broached the subject of me at all with her, trying to hide her thoughts of me under the rug, I'm sure."
"How could I possibly frighten her? She's seen my face and thought nothing of it," Erik lied, hoping he could get away with it. He hadn't realizeed that de Chagny had been at the play in the village the same night that Erik had seen it with Emilie. He would have found out everything about Erik's earlier life and his ploy to have Christine for himself, but Erik did not suspect that de Chagny had heard the musical.
"And she's your fiancée? I haven't heard any announcement yet..." Erik was getting angry now. This man was goading him into it. He was tired of de Chagny's attitude. He clenched his teeth and waved his fist at de Chagny. "You shall never have Christine! Never!"

Indeed Charles was now more of a curiosity and conundrum than ever before. Watching him with those exhausted eyes, her poor mind was barely able to keep up with all that was happening. The Roses and the garden that she promised to care for. He was very particular about it then and now, he was rather happy and nonchalant it seemed. This bewildered her. And especially the Lady of the Manor? Was it the one that he said NEVER to meet? And now... he wanted them to meet her? Oh, she was utterly confused. Opening her mouth, she was about to inquire about that but did not speak a word. Instead she nodded slightly as though understanding and yet she did not quite understand the whole reasoning behind the sudden change of heart or privilege. Yes. Now Charles had her utterly curious and she wished to speak with him soon enough about it all.
Her attentions soon enough changed to focus upon Raoul Christophe and Lenoir. Why oh, why did they both HAVE to fight?!? Did they not learn their lesson in the Village sometime ago? That was a little over two weeks ago! Lord! And yet, here they were going at each other's throats still. Closing her eyes, she looked distressed and slightly shook her head as it rolled side to side upon the pillow. Her hand reached over to her Husband, setting it gently upon his arm, "Raoul," she plead with him in a pained, soft voice. "Make them stop." Pausing as she breathed and turned to look upon her Husband. As she saw Lenoir and Raoul Christophe go at it, so did she see in her mind the issues of Lenoir and her own Husband. It pained her greatly and all she wanted was for them to come to terms, to respect one another and one another's decision. If her younger self was here, or if it was all about her, then the battles would NOT help her and her younger self any. Only make matters worse really. "They mustn't fight. Please," she begged softly to Raoul Edouard. Glancing at Charles and Carriere, "Please." her eyes pleading with the other men to at least get them to come to terms and end their feud. Closing her eyes, she was tired of this constant battle. It wore upon her. And no doubt wore upon them all.

Edouard was happy that Emilie was coming around. She was conscious, but still looked ill. He took her hand to comfort her and sat on the edge of her bed. They both watched as Lenoir and Christophe de Chagny started to fight over the younger Christine, Svenna. Lenoir was always picking a fight. But then again Christophe was always ready for one. Edouard had told Christophe certain details concerning what had happened in the lair, things the young man had not known because of the strange time anomalies of the mansion. He had apparently not lived through that part of his life yet when he was pulled from his life to come to the mansion.
In any case, Lenoir seemed to be willing to fight with anyone whose surname was de Chagny, although he had heard a rumour that the former Phantom had actually saved the life of one Raoul de Chagny and his fiancée. Edouard wasn't sure if h e could take that for fact. Lenoir had tried to kill Edouard several months ago. Edouard had hoped, with the young Christine appearing here, that Lenoir would keep away from Emilie now. And perhaps he would. They were fighting over Svenna now. He breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe they could just go on normally as they had tried to 10 years ago, with the shadow of the Phantom over them. Perhaps he would not torture them any more.
Then Edouard turned his attention back to Emilie. She placed her hand upon his arm and She was saying something about they mustn't fight. She glanced at Dalimar and Carriére and Edouard pleadingly. Edouard sighed. He didn't want to get involved with this. It was not his fitht. But he also did not want to let any of the others be his wife's champion. "Yes, Christine, as you wish," he said to his wife.
Edouard took off his coat, vest and tie and laid them on the end of Emilie's bed. He removed his cufflinks and rolled up his sleeves as he walked toward the door and out into the hall. "De Chagny, Lenoir, stop it! Your fighting is upsetting Christine!" He walked between them, his arms out to push them apart and force them to talk. The two were going at each other again when suddenly Edouard felt something hard on the side of his head and he slumped to the floor, unconscious.

Raoul followed Lenoir outside and tossed his jacket on a table, taking off his tie and laying it on top as he glared at the older man and started to walk in circles around him like a hawk. “Of course it is. But you see, my clever friend, she has already chosen me. She made her affections for me quite clear on several occasions.” he bragged with a snide grin as he rolled up his sleeves. “Oh, I have discussed it with her—and she despises you. She thinks that you’re a madman and she begged me to take her away from you, and so I will. I proposed to her and she accepted. She said that it’s always been me, that there wasn’t even a doubt in her mind that she loved me and only me.” he added firmly. “She wants us to grow old together, and for me to father her children—yes, she was quite insistent about that—I’m afraid that she doesn’t give a damn about you.”
He chuckled and waved his hand. “Nice try, but she told me that your face was the most horrific thing she’d seen in her entire life. I was the one who comforted her, who offered her protection and a happy, fulfilling life. What have you to offer her? A sewer and a life devoid of any freedom—she’d be a recluse, like you. No, my Christine and I are quite content.”
“Consider this your only announcement because you won’t live to hear the official one.” Raoul said darkly as he threw a punch at the man’s face without warning. “She already is mine, fool. We pledged ourselves to each other on that rooftop, or were you not listening?” he demanded with a grunt, snapping his leg out in a kick to the man’s stomach. He tried to shove his head into the wall and threw another left hook. He then swung his elbow at the side of Lenoir’s head and started to throw a punch with his right hand—which caught Edouard in the side of the head. “Bloody hell…” he muttered as the middle-aged version of himself slumped to the floor. “Edouard? Edouard?” He shook the man a few times before jumping to his feet and shouting at Lenoir, “Look what you did! If you had just taken it like a man this wouldn’t have happened!”

Erik sighed slightly as Lenoir and the younger Vicomte went outside of the room. He looked to the Vicomtesse who begged the three remaining men to stop the other two. However, Erik did not leave the room quite yet as he wasn't completely comfortable with leaving Charles alone with the Vicomtesse. For some odd reason, if it really was odd at all, he didn't feel comfortable with Christine and Charles being alone together, he got a strange feeling form Charles. And although he appreciated that the man made the Vicomtesse better, he still didn't know what he was capable of or what had happened between the two.
Erik watched as Edouard left the room to break up the fight. He looked at Christine concerned, although she was better, she wasn't at her best and he wanted to find out what had happened to her, other than what Charles had told them. But then his attention was turned to the action outside as he heard the fight starting to commence. He hesitated to leave Charles alone with the Vicomtesse but he needed to help stop the fight outside since it sounded like Edouard's attempt wasn't going so well. He stood at the door frame to see what was going on and saw Raoul and Lenoir not only physically fighting but also the young Vicomte rambling off to Lenoir, obviously seeming like angering him.
But then Raoul threw one hit and instead of hitting the other masked man, it hit Edouard and that was when Erik decided that this was quite enough. He slipped forward and pushed Lenoir and Raoul away from each other and then looked at Raoul. "That is quite enough!" He said angrily. He glanced at the both of them, still looking quite tense. "Calm down the both of you! Now would someone like to tell Edouard's wife why he is unconscious? And I think it would be much less childish to blame it on the other person." Though he would have to agree that Raoul did start it but he wasn't going to say that at the time. There was enough fighting going on at the moment. "Now before anyone else get's hurt, I suggest we bring Edouard back into the room and sit him on a chair and the both of you to stop fighting. Can this be handled appropriately by us without any further fighting?" He said annoyed, looking at the two, still standing between the two of them.

When the younger Vicomte slammed his older counterpart with a fist meant for Lenoir, Edouard fell to the ground unconscious. Erik stopped fighting and yelled at the younger de Chagny. "What the hell do you think you are doing? Look what you've done!" Erik had no great love for the older Vicomte, but he was Emilie's husband, and he felt an obligation to help the man for her sake.
"De Chagny, help me get him in to the settee," Erik said to the man with which he had been trading punches. "This is all your fault," he said under his breath.
The Vicomte was then laid on the settee.Erik knelt down at Edouard's side. The man was still unconscious but breathing. Erik didn't think him in any danger. "Can someone fetch me the bloody smelling salts?" he asked of everyone or no one in particular. Erik would rather have dumped a pitcher of water on Edouard's face to awaken him, but Emilie was here and he didn't wish to upset her more.
Erik was only a bit worse for wear. He smoothed down his hairpiece a bit. He nodded to Carriére. "Did she send you out to break up the fight too, Carriére? " He nodded toward Christophe. "He started it you know. "
"Is the Vicomtesse all right?" asked Erik of Carriére, the only man in the room with which he was truly friendly. He didn't think that Carriére knew of his little accidental rendezvous wit Emilie and he wasn't about to say anything. Of course considering that the gossip grapevine in a place like this grew more rapidly than the grapes on a real grapevine, he wasn't sure who knew about that at all.
Then Erik turned to the Vicomte again when he heard something from the man. Edouard was moaning a bit and touched his head. "Never mind the smelling salts; he's coming around..." said Erik.
