"No, no, I ain't gonna take nothing from y'all. All o' you is my friends now and I couldn't do nothin; like that to my friends. And it ain't right to do that to nobody.... " She remembered her mother's lessons, which she had cavalierly disregarded since her father had died.....and of course being with Gunner didn't help. He had no qualms about taking anythng from anybody...
Then Svenna said an odd thing. She said she had taken something from M. Lenoir. Lu couldn't imagine what Svenna could have wanted that belonged to the Phantom. "What was it?" she asked.
"Oh, the op'ry sounds grand! Like a fairy tale come true! Music and dancin' and I bet them costumes is right fine too!"
Svenna spoke of the horses. "Did I fergit to tell you I already got a horse? Names Effie. Named after my Mama. I s'pose it seems a odd thing to name yer horse after yer Mama, but well, I love my horse too..." She giggled for it sounded really silly. "And yeah, we could go to the village on them horses. I think that somebody is takin' care o' them, but I don't know who. Might be one o' them men what wears a mask. Think I saw him at the Gift Exchange around Christmas."
Then Svenna went to the closet and picked out a lovely pale pink form fitting gown with a peacock feather design. Lu's eyes practically popped out of her head. "My land, if that ain't the prettiest thing this side o' the Mississippi!" She laughed. "Yeah, I'd love to wear that one!"

Lu explained how she wasn’t going to take anything from anyone any more… and Christine thought that she was being genuine about it. After all, it didn’t seem like she was actually planning on taking any of the things she had been trying on. It was more of a … using without permission sort of thing. But then she asked Svenna what it was that she had taken from Erik that had caused him to become so very upset.
“Well…” she began, looking back upon the memory with some small amount of distress (for it was a father frightening memory, after all, even if she had come to terms with him since), “it was his mask… I… I was curious… all I wanted was to know what his face looked like. I’d never seen him before, and the mask…it was the only thing standing in the way…”
Christine shook her head a little, as if to shake away an unpleasant vision which had just entered her head. And listened, her eyes aglow with curiosity as Lu told her about her horse, Effie. “You did, but wouldn’t it be a lot easier if we both were on a horse? Watch, hear and do, you know?”
Lu said one of her strange American expressions and then said that she would very much like to wear the dress which Christine had selected, a comment at which a bright grin spread across her face. “Perfect then!” she exclaimed, handing the dress to the other woman.

Lu asked about Svenna taking something from Erik. She explained it was his mask and that she was only curious. Lu nodded. "I seen Gunner's face. Whole bottom of his face is a mess. It don't bother me now, I even kiss him, but at first, well, he ain't purdy...." She paused. "I s'pose iffen yer Erik looked like Gunner, maybe he don't care to show his face. I understan' that."
Lu giggled "Oh I think we sure should have our own horse if we go ridin'! The horses could both go faster!" Still giggling, she said, "Did I say we should both go on Effie? She wouldn't be happy with me..."
When Svenna handed Lu the beautiful pink gown, the American girl was quite taken with it. After exclaiming about it, she looked at Svenna and said, "So I kin wear this one? What're you gonna wear?"
Then she looked at her feet. Her boots would assuredly not go with the dress. "Oh my boots ain't lookin' too well...Got any slippers what might look better?" She thought that perhaps their feet were close to the same size..
Lu pulled off her boots and put them next to the chair and out of the way. She took off her jacket and unbuttoned her blouse. She wasn't wearing a corset, but she did have a chemise and bloomers under her outside clothes. She slipped the pink gown on and then looked in the mirror and gasped at how lovely it looked on her. She put her hand to her mouth and shook her head. "Well, ain't I purdy!" Then she giggled.

Christine Svenna gave a quick, small nod of her head, in affirmation of Christine Lucinda's assumption about Erik Lenoir not liking his mask to be removed, similar to how her own Erik Gunner did not care for his to be removed. She could remember the haunting and unexpected sight which had appeared before her there in the lair as the result of her all-too-eager curiosity to see the face behind the mask, which belonged to her Angel of Music who had taught her so well.
She giggled though when Lu said that Effie wouldn't be happy with them both riding her. “No.... We'd be heavier. How fast can you ride her though?” Not Christine Svenna was curious. She liked the idea of riding fast. It sounded rather like a thrill.
“Of course you can wear that one,” she said, smiling brightly, and then turned to look through her wardrobe again. “Hmmmmm.... Oh!” She pulled out a pink and black dress with a black embroidered shawl upon it. It was another outfit that she had never seen before... and yet something about it seemed so very oddly familiar. It was a very salmon pink, almost close to orange in the lighting, and the detailing on it was fantastic!
“I'll wear this one,” she said, selecting it and removing it from the wardrobe. And then Lu asked about her shoes. “I think I have some that you could borrow.... Here. Try these ones. The tan color will look nice with that dress” she said, as she took out a pair of tan character-type-shoes. “You look like something out of a storybook.”

"How fast c'n I ride? Effie an' me...we ride like the wind! She's the fastes' horse I ever did see! Raised her from a filly, I did. She's got racin' blood in her, I swear! "
Svenna said Lu could of course, wear the lovely gown. And she looked beautiful in it, which Svenna affirmed, after Lu had donned the shoes. Saying Lu looked like someone out of a storybook, Lu beamed. "Ain't that somethin'!" The last time she had worn a dress was on one of her bank robbing episodes. She would put on a beautiful gown, rob a bank, rush back somewhere that she could change and then no one would recognize her in her usual male attire. She had gotten away with a lot of loot that way.
But now, at the mansion, there was really no reason to rob banks or trains or anything else for that matter. Everything was provided, and while she thought that somewhat odd, it was indeed a boon for someone who had become a bank robber for lack of having anything.
Svenna donned a lovely gown of salmon pick/orange with black and Lu 'oohed" and 'ahed" over it. "Ain't we jus' the purdiest things west of .... well I can't say the Mississip' no more..." she laughed. Lu was really feeling happy since it seemed as if she and Svenna were really hitting it off. Sometimes it was difficult with Gunner. He tended to be moody and while she loved him, sometimes she wanted to slap him back into a good mood. Which of course wouldn't have worked.
"So when's we goin' ridin', Svenna?" She giggled. "Ooh, I think I got yer name right that time!"

Christine Svenna smiled, nodding excitedly when Lu was finally able to pronounce her name correctly without any sort of a reminder. “Yes! Yes, that’s it. Svenna. You like it?” She gestures, posing a little in her salmon and black dress with the lace and ribbon rosettes, and then did a little twirl. “I didn’t even realize that I had it. All sorts of things have been turning up in here that I’ve never seen before. Actually, I’d never seen yours either.”
It was quite strange, really. It was like the room had been specially designed for her with everything that she had known beforehand... and yet at the same time, there were things she didn’tknow there as well.
She thought for a moment, pondering Lu’s question about when the two of them should go riding. “Well… how about sometime next week? I have free time if you’re fine with it.”

After complimenting each other on their lovely dresses, Svenna said that she hadn't even known she had the dresses. Lu nodded. "Yeah. My rooms is like Mamma's house when I was a girl. All the things she had are there. From so long ago. An' a few things I had more recent.." She giggled. "Wish they woulda left me some jewels like yers...Well, maybe they will one-a these days."
"An' I kin go ridin' with you any ol' day, Svenna...oh I said it right again!." She paused. "Any time because, they ain't much to do here at hte mansion. Everthing's done fer you. I know you gotta job an' such. But me, I'm used to workin' hard. " She was referring to robbing trains and so on. It wasn't so much that it was hard work, but it had to be planned carefully and there could be no slipups or it could cost a life, possibly hers. She had no wish to hurt anyone, just get away with their loot. And there was definitely a physical element to it, one needed to be quick and stealthy and strong enough to carry away the loot. Here, at the mansion, Lu was largely bored. Talking and getting to know the other residents was something she enjoyed, and especially speaking to Svenna.
"Maybe I should get me to the village and look fer a job. Wonder what I could do." Of course without any credentials and no work background in the present day, it might be very hard for Lu to find a job, but she didn't know that.

Christine Svenna nodded agreeingly when Lu mentioned the things from both her past and from her present there in her room at the Manor. “Same here, except it’s almost like I’m finding stuff from the future, too! Even modern clothes and stuff, like the ones in the village. Pretty freaky, huh?” And then she grinned a bit. “Oh, I’m sure they will soon. Didn’t you get something like that for Christmas?” She vaguely remembered the woman being at the gift exchange, and knew that several of the ladies had received jewels of some sort.
Christine svenna laughed happily. “Yes you did, Lu! are you going to look in the village for a job? I don’t have a lot to do right now, because my work is closed until the weather warms up again in Spring.”
She then shrugged her shoulders a little bit. “I don’t know what sort of work you’re looking for, but there’s lots available in the village, so I’m sure you could find something. You’ll never know until you try looking.”
