The Rules
2. Respect admins, guests, and other members AT ALL TIMES. Administrators are there to help. Please treat them with the proper respect. Also, remember that you are just like any of the other members. Don’t insult anyone on the basis of your opinion, especially not in the chatbox. There will be absolutely NO constant barrage of comments on posting or activity at the Manor.
3. At least two paragraphs per post, please. Posts can be a short two paragraphs, just give the other player something to work with. A paragraph constitutes as a body of words that encapture at least one thought and one action.
4. Threads should be completed within two (2) months of their conception. Exceptions due to absences or the general length and amount of characters in the thread can be made and cleared by admins.
5. We are an INTERMEDIATE roleplay, but we expect proper grammar, and for you to write in the third person, unless it’s approved by an admin that you can write in first person. If it is not approved for you to use first person, you CANNOT use it. Proper grammar will be expected at all times. Each sentence MUST include a subject. A subject is a PROPER NOUN. This can be He/She, a name, a place, or an object.
6. Graphic sexual scenes are not allowed. You can move it to pms if you like. Just fade to black if this becomes the case. This rule is set up because ProBoards doesn’t allow graphic language or scenes. If you’ve got a racy scene that you expect will turn into a graphic scene, please don’t go into the actual “doin the dirty”. You’ll be kicked off the site before your damage shuts us down, and your post will be deleted.
7. Roleplayers are allowed up to six canon characters each. Any characters after that must be purchased in the soon to be set up Site Shop. You must purchase original characters after your six canon character limit has been reached. If a person has, for example, THREE canon characters, they can buy up to three more. After that, they can only be allowed to purchase original characters. More details will be provided later.
8. Each roleplayer is also allowed only two versions of each of the main trio. That means you cannot take six Eriks or four Christines. You are allowed to have two Eriks, two Christines, and two Raouls. This only applies to the original canon trio, so you can have OC Eriks, Christines, and Raouls, but be careful about variety. We encourage originality and going for the supporting characters or an original character (ghost, phantom OC, or townsfolk included!).
9. If you take an Erik, Christine or Raoul from a certain canon, you CANNOT take another character from that canon. It would be difficult for you to play the same characters in one canon, because eventually they might have to thread together. OC relationships between characters must be approved by admins. You're welcome to put up wanted ads, however, if you want someone to play that character, or modify your character so that they aren't violating this rule!
10. No godmodding (unless the other roleplayer consents to it, and it can’t be too outrageous like setting fire to the manor or something), powerplaying (you can find a guide to roleplaying terms here[/url/ if you are unfamiliar with these terms), or character deaths. Character deaths can ONLY be approved by the admins. Now, if you want your character to become a ghost, that’s a different story. You still have to clear it with an admin, so that we can change your member group.
11. When you want to apply for a second, third, fourth, fifth, or sixth character, we ask that when you apply for a second character that you have a minimum of 25 posts (mostly in character) with your first, and the rest have 15 posts (mostly in character) each for a new character. This rule applies for EVERYONE, including returning members. If you leave the site, you leave your characters and have to start fresh.
12. Original Characters must be well thought out and developed. No Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus, please. We will deny any application that seems to fit this qualification. Should your character become a Mary Sue or Gary Stu over the course of your roleplaying experience, the administrators shall talk to you, and you will have a month to change this. Should this not change, you will lose the character.
13. Please keep plotting in threads or IM, don’t flood the cbox. Please keep plotting to plot pages or private chats with others involved. Don’t roleplay in the chatbox. If any spamming happens in the chatbox (including the over-sharing of gifs, pictures, videos, or links) you will be given a warning.
14. Please keep signatures to a maximum of 500 pixels in width, so as not to stretch the board. Avatars can be up to 100x100 pixels. We do happen to have a code that allows the board to resize photos, however, for the sake of convenience - and out of courtesy for other players with slower bandwidth - we ask that you keep the pictures to the size constraints. Any images posted on the boards should also follow this rule, including those in wardrobe threads and post templates.
15. There will be absolutely NO advertising of any kind that involves asking our members to sign up for something that might be a scam, or is just plain spam, even if it is in the advertising board. The only advertisements allowed on this forum will be for other RP sites with the appropriate information on their board, and can only be in the advertisement section. Any spammer’s I.P. address shall be blocked from our site immediately.
